Tosh's demeanor seems so chill but all business. I like how this scenario is imperfect and they still learn something from it. No egos, no puffing up, just learning and constructive criticism.
Hey guys, Thanks for the comments. I agree with much of the criticism. What you are not seeing is we explain one man CQB is not something you should do. There are only a few reasons why you should. That being said it is an excellent training exercise for developing problem solving, learning about your own weaknesses and strengths, developing individual movement and techniques and its fucking fun! There are no perfect scenarios. In fact we can do 100 different scenarios in a day but we are not going to replicate the one you actually get into. Again thanks for the comments.
Hey Tosh, without full context of the class you're teaching (given short clip), could you provide some insight to what direction/guidance/scenario factors the home defender in these exercises were given? Based on some of the instruction/tips offered in the vid, I'm assuming the defender is 'clear' to engage anything they come across with the presumption that all safe parties are behind (i.e. not behind these doors or in this room). With respect to the comment about both holding the door closed + shooting thru the door if needed, I'm assuming this is with the presumption that the person behind the door has sent rounds thru the door as well, so 'blind' return fire thru the door is acceptable (permitting the home defender knows the risks/consequences - knowing target/beyond). Thanks!
Ya, sometimes I forget who my audience is. Yes of course you are not blindly going shoot into a door. It's a very extreme situation knowing what's on the others and it is the only option. Even if rounds are coming through that door are cleared hot to shoot. Only if you know if it is the threat.
Pretty sure the only reason you should clear your own house would be to save a loved one. Other than that stay in your room, close and lock the door, and wait for the cops to arrive. If the intruder breaks the threshold of your room then stop the threat. There's quite a few experts who will tell you repeatedly NOT to clear your home, especially alone.
Certainly hindsight is 20/20 but what about using the cot and push it forward closing the door. Now if he does come out most likely you will have some warning.
Awesome stuff. Seems like everyone had a preferred style of light manipulation (not talking about hand position, but when to turn it on/off). Did he go over that in the training?
The first demonstration, the guy very smoothly vertically displaced himself when surprised. I'm not sure if he was taught that movement, in response to contact, but it looked like a good course of action, particularly in tight spaces, forcing the op-force to have to re-adjust rapidly, by which time he (the student) had multiple good shots on target.
Seems like it could also be a good way to catch a bullet to the face instead of the torso though because you're still being shot at torso level but dropping your head. Either way don't want to be shot but better to move back to the nearest cover while shooting imo
You’re out of the fatal funnel but now you’re in the f-ed up corner. Before all of the keyboard warriors start, I completely understand what a fatal funnel is, I’m just saying….
Well yes you are right. The key is keep moving as best you can. This was the first time these guys have done this. Have to give them basics before overloading them with too much to think about. Thanks for the comment

Thank you for the education and the knowledge sir, and for your service and sacrifice sir.
Exactly

"what is open door" great !
That intro track is so clearly meant to riff on P!nk's "So What" 🤣 I love off-brand royalty-free music.
Would love to see more of these! Especially hallways and dealing with multiple doors in a single hallway.
You really brought back some old memories🇺🇸Semper Fi with my gratitude for an excellent vid.
Good stuff. Can you do one on positions to hold inside a house and how to interact with LEOs when they arrive when you're strapped?
Thanks for the question. We addressed that question a few months ago. Go back and watch our older vids. Thanks
Always appreciate these.
Yup I never want to have to do this...
Smart... learning from others.

You're the type of guy who sits in the corner and watches while someone rails your wife. If someone breaks I'm I'm closing to engage.
💥😎EXCELLENT!👍🇺🇸 Thnx 4 sharing techniques & tactics.

The door is the "fatal funnel"!
Always, ALWAYS check your corners upon entering a room.
You can quick peek

Yes that is one technique we went over off camera. We taught multiple methods and let the student chose, test and exicute.

Step 1: Pull pin on frag grenade...
Yes sir. I agree
Where are you guys located? I would love some training.
Need a weapon mounted light
