Not sure if you'd want to do it, but to make a fixed sight gun shoot higher you can shave down the front slight a little at a time until it's on target. It's not the best idea with night sights, because then the dot will be too high on the sight... but it's much easier with blacked out sights or any sight a new dot can be painted. I guess you could paint over a night sight though and then just paint a new dot on it with glowing paint. There are some excellent glowing paints out there, but you have to do some reading on it first, because some (most) of them suck.

There are companies that make custom and/or adjustable sights for guns that don't normally come with adjustable sights... because the factory sights aren't always perfect. I've seen sights for a couple guns that were just slightly taller or shorter (in increments) for guns that shoot high and low.

@@murphy4yt I don't, but I'll definitely look into it, because I need to know myself. I know how 100s of guns work, but the EC9S is not one of them (and I especially don't know how the mag safety works on it). Usually you just have to lock them in the position that they are in when there's a magazine inserted. A piece of steel wire, a spring or even a rubber band can disable them in many guns.
I know they're not even remotely the same as a grip safety, but comparatively, people disable their grip safeties by simply wrapping a rubber band or sleeve around the grip.
I can't say for certain though, because I haven't found any videos that show the disassembly of the firearm (so I can see how all the parts work and fit together).

I had the ramp polished, while I had it. The s. model has no thumb safety thats the way I like it. I only like thumb safetys on 1911s. The mag. Safety I was not fond of. I do not have one. I chose the Taurus G2C when I was considering this one but it was a close second place. Of course it has features that the Taurus does not have: it is lighter and thinner, slightly easier concealability potential. But I picked the G2C primarily because of its higher round capacity. Wish G43 would drop In price wouldn’t mind getting one of them again, I’ve let it go 2 times and it’s probably my favorite and most accurate and light shoot little 9mm. 4:33 should earn you a bunch of points. There is no reason to load and chamber the pistol to weigh it. You had the forethought to think it through and weigh everything unloaded on the scale for safety. Not every channel is a reckless buffoon that is gonna cause a negligent discharge. 👍💯

I kinda miss this gun. Carries great and looks nice, but I could never shoot it very well.

The EC9s seems to be a direct competitor - at least for price - with the SCCY CPX2.

Can’t beat it for price, trigger works fine, just takes a little getting used to it, I find that with all pistols. Certainly Accurate, I carry all the time. Bought a second one for one of my daughters.

I'd take one for sure. Rugers seem to work..I worked there till they started doing more modern style guns..I got hurt and couldn't work..

Good review, Dan. Great option for a pocket carry gun. I don’t understand the magazine disconnect. My summer carry is a Max 9 and it does not have that…thankfully.😉

Sad to see the LC9s go by the wayside. I prefer having the removable sights for a fiberoptic option.

Good little pistols. Already have an PF9, and Shield 40 and 45, otherwise Id give the Ruger a try.

My best friend and I are both long-time Ruger fans. His EDC is the EC9s, bas been for years. He's said that if he were to upgrade for more capacity, he'd look at the Max 9. Me? I was torn between the Max-9 and the Taurus GX4. In the end, I was enticed by price, and was unfaithful to Ruger. I went with the GX4 as my micro9. Gotta say I am happy with it.

ide pass on this one..i found my colt for 300$, a budget dose not mean you have to settle it means you have to look around and perhaps discover a great deal on something normally out of your price range. i found a custom hunting rifle built on a Remington mod 1917 action that today would cost a bundle to have a gunsmith custom build for 199$ it came with an old custom reticle weaver k4 and has provisions for mounting a aperture sight..has a heavier barrel with less taper and shoots cheap old 30-06 loads 150-180 into less than an inch at 100yrds. if you go look around 3 or 4 different shops chances are you can find something good.

Bought a brand new Max 9 last month, great little gun so far but the finish on the slide is garbage compared to the other Rugers in the video.
Barely carried the thing and the slide rusted after two weeks even though the pistol was properly cleaned and CLP'd after each range session.

I never had any use for a magazine disconnector. The weapon will not fire without the mag inserted which means in the middle of reloading it is useless! This is also my objection to the Browning Hi-Power which otherwise is a fine weapon. You must do a gunsmith workaround to remove the disconnector.

Companies can not be safe enough these days. Have a LC9S. Unless you have a very firm grip the second shot may be a surprise.
