I used it on my border plant, in particular a gardenia that showed signs of iron deficiency (yellow leaves but veins still green). It took a lot of applications over two months. I used the whole bottle and it’s mostly green leaves now. On the plus side, I now have a hose-end sprayer to apply Greene County products with 😉
For me, down in central Kentucky, we like to use the granular form of Ironite. It takes a little longer for results but usually after a week or two and a rain, the grass turns very green. Last year, we applied too much once and the lawn was almost a gray-green color.
Your test plots have different conditions. The treated area appears to be heavily shaded, which could account for no color difference. Also, trees root systems can effect water and nutrient availability for the lawn.
The shadow is time of day specific - there’s a giant tree on both sides and so it catches shade from each. I don’t think that had much to do with it. I get results from other products just fine
Have you done a soil test? Not directing this towards you, but some people apply products blindly. In theory this should have made your lawn greener, but there are other variables to consider. It DOES work, but it's not magic either. Thanks for the video! Best of luck
@@KaPPy83 Enlighten me then! You realize that if your soils pH is too high, products like Ironite (at least at the concentration used in the video) won't do anything. Next time be less ignorant and provide value to others instead. We all want to improve our lawn man.
Eddha chelated iron, something like Dissolvine q40 will work way up into high ph soils, so it will work for everyone. In addition their instructions are the best, it needs watering in. Has a touch of N for the kicker. Packed in 1, 10 and 25 kilo amounts from Plant Products or Yara under a different name.
I just use water soluble chelated iron or ferros sulfate mixing with ASF, or use just one:Scotts Green Max. I find that the liquid iron in those small bottles are waste of money.
It is inappropriate to say this is a scam because YOU didn’t see results on YOUR lawn, just like any product or medication. Ur logic is flawed! If Many Others have had positive results so it is not a scam. Every lawn is different and specific to its environment, location, soil and sun exposure.

Ironite is not a feed or a fertilizer. It's a certain amount of nitrogen blended with a minimal amount of iron to make the formula effective. You dissembled the application bottle and manufactured your own mixture, contrary to the directions and make a video saying this stuff sux. Thats unfortunate. Ironite is a great product, when used as directed.
All I did was measure out the proper amount of liquid to ensure I didn’t overapply and could still empty the bottle. I wouldn’t call this anything near “effective” whether they market it as a fertilizer or not
Have you ever used this product before and gotten good results?
Ive used it and it worked great on my lawn

Too much iron will turn the lawn black for sure!
I have never used Ironite, but I agree - couldn't really seen any difference in those two areas. Lawn is looking great, great video Kyle 👍
Glad I’m not the only one! Haha

And we cannot tell the difference because it is shading
You should have done a section of Ironite and one of spoon juice, then compare the results.
Great idea - maybe I’ll put together a test of that
The granular Ironite is way better than the liquid. I found out the hard way as well.
I think they both suck to be honest!
I use Ironite and on my tall fescue, it works. Gets the lawn very dark green.
Hasn’t worked great on mine. Do you have a low PH soil?

I’ve used ironite several times and I haven’t noticed much of a difference.
Hi. Just tried it on my lawn here in North Florida. I’ll let you know how it works!!
How'd it turn out?
Eddha chelated iron, something like Dissolvine q40 will work way up into high ph soils, so it will work for everyone.

Nice!!! Chelated iron is where it’s at.
It works fine on my South Texas St. Augustine grass. And I pay $16.57 at Walmart 😅
Ironite is high in iron normally, but not soluble or chelated iron. It also is very splotchy for me. I'll dark green polka dots normally.
Granular ironite is trash. Liquid chelated iron it where it’s at. FAS is even better and cheaper
“With 1% Iron!”
Lmao… what a joke
Maybe that’s why it doesn’t stain 🤷🏻♂️ haha
My pee has more than 1% iron...ill send you a bottle for your next test 😂
BAHAHAHAHAHA
🤣😂🤣 I'm curious about the alcohol content as well 🍻🤪
Dangerous levels I’m sure
@@PacificNorthwestLawns alcohol is full of sugars so it's basically a liquid d-thatch as well. And I can use my built in hose end sprayer 😂

Hard for us to tell being it's shaded
My thought too
It works great for me, been using it for years.

Hey Corey! Thanks for watching. Nice to meet you and welcome!
Tried it. Never worked in my lawn years ago.
Trash!
I used the ironite granules and I honestly didn’t see much of a difference.
They are also garbage. Many more better options out there
I use and love the graduals. It works
It works great on my Bermuda Tiff, much darker green.
Ironite is true snake oil. Used it once, let me rephrase that, wasted money once on it. Never again. 👊
Wasted money is right! So many more better options out there for getting that nice green look!
@@TheLawnMentorworks if you apply 3 bags;)
@@patrickglaser1560- Wrong. I tried 7 bags and my untreated dead grass was even greener than Ironite.

wait till next month gonna be blingin
A month?! Heck no
Did you wet your soil before using it. It says it on the instructions.
Hello my grass grows tall
And green but looks brownish yellow when cut should I apply this or nitrogen etc
You might be not be cutting often enough. What grass type do you have?
Talk fescue bass but was seeded last year with a mix sun and shade blend when it grows out looks like a plush jungle when I cut yellowish
Tall fescue is the neighborhood base put down by developers
@treystokes2011 ok, make sure you’re never taking more than 1/3 of the leaf blade off when you cut and keep it between 2.5-4”
So the yellowing should go away ??
I used it and got nothing too
I’ll never buy this again!

now you tell me.
How could you tell the difference with all the shade
It’s still apparent, especially in person.
No cause the shade of the tree makes it look darker
Touché
So the granular is 10% iron, but the liquid is only 1%? No wonder you saw no greenup.
Right?!?
Hello this is my first time watching your chanel im from texas my name is soraida
Welcome!
Add epson salt in a spreader. The soil needs it
Like the printer brand?
The shaded are looked darker 🤔🤦😂👍💚🦸
At least I know your eyes work!!! Haha 😆
@@TheLawnMentor haha had my glasses on 😂
Should’ve put that in the beginning as a disclaimer: “Please go get your glasses!” 🤓
I've used Ironite granules and honestly didn't see any difference. The liquid isn't any better. Sorry.
How are you “not a fan” before you even try it?
I’ve used the granular and I’m not a fan of the Ironite brand in general
I didnt see a difference in my St. Augustine either
Terrible! Thanks for sharing!!!
And you wore the same shirt all week as well I assume?
What’re you the shirt police?! I filmed the application before the talking so we had results to show right away
I have used this product and it did nothing.
Right?!?
Iron definitely works. Maybe the product sucks?
Does not work don't waste your money
