    Hey Pete! I've been in the business my whole life and I learn something every day. I just barely started using these Green County products and I am impressed, we'll definitely be using more of it here in Virginia!
    The Lord is Good my friend! I think he'd like all this green we're creating down here.

    I love some iron on the lawn! I read somewhere recently about how there is a max limit of iron to get the greener or greenest effect. Basically, the notion that more iron doesn't mean darker and greener turf. Like you said, it's in the genetics of the grass that determines how dark green the grass can actually get, but iron definitely promotes a greener lawn. Just at some point the laws of diminishing returns takes place. Also, iron will stain the driveway, brick, fences, and siding so one should be careful when applying iron!

      Been there done that. I'll never dose the Iron heavy maybe wait a day between. Only .. Only attempt if your turf is healthy green and NO brown in it what so ever. Not even two weeks after using Drive XLR8 to kill some Crab Grass trying to invade. Anything that is NOT green and living will be brownish black. Told neighbor it was herbicide for Crab Grass.

    Hey Pete, been watching your videos for awhile and am impressed with your professionalism yet you still seem like a laid back guy. Just bought the bio-stimulant package and can’t wait to try it out. I recently built a house and brought in a lot of dirt and planted fescue last fall. Most of the yard took real well but there are parts of a hill that grew baby grass about an inch and a half and will not grow anymore. Hoping this helps. Love your videos. Very informative.

    What about magnesium epsom salts, Pete? I use them on my lawn here in the UK and it greens up real good. Designed primarily as a foliage greener for house plants, I apply it via a MiracleGro hose sprayer bottle. I believe it works by assisting with osmosis and helps the sward draw up extra nutrients from the soil, especially after the application of fertilizers/iron.

    I need some advice, this is my first year at my new house. Around April I used Scott’s halts for weed and feed, a month ago applied Milorganite and shortly after used ortho broad leaf weed killer, (weed killer had little to no effect). I don’t think I mowed frequently enough after the milo kicked in and racked up a bunch of brown patches of dead grass. Should I do another application of milo along with a post emergent or should I just be patient and mow more often, can’t stand the brown patches and crabgrass. Thanks

    When using only 4 gallons to cover your sq footage, do you just make it super concentrated? For example if the liquid iron product recommends 8 oz per 1000 sq ft and you have a 8000 sq ft yard, would you just add 64oz to the 4 gallons sprayer and apply evenly?

    • @VAMCVETS
      @VAMCVETS Год назад

      @kingzt1212 Typically, with a backpack sprayer with a fan head with an average walking speed, it is 1 gallon per 1k sq ft. In a 4 gallon backpack, mix 32 oz of chelated iron. You will do 2 treatments for 8k sq ft.

    Can't you run the opposite direction in the same lines to basically stand the grass back up "erase" the previous lay

    So I need some clarification. Fescue in shade only is a myth? I live in Oklahoma and have never seen a fescue lawn in non shade areas.

      Zman fescue grass loves cool temperatures (54 degrees to about 85) cant remember the exact temperature and good amount of watering. Oklahoma is blazing hot and not enough rain. You will see more bermuda grass there and crabgrass

      German yeah probably true. Most of NC can’t grow it either. Pete lives in the NW part of the state so the elevation plays a factor which is probably why he can grow it.

    Hi Pete. I put down some of the next products (rgs, micro greene, and d-thatch) and have seen a big uptick in mushrooms. Is that normal?

      Have you had tons of rain lately?

      GCI Turf Services I’m in the NE and we have had a decent amount of rain. But we had rain before my application of the next products and no mushrooms and since the application pretty big uptick. We have been pretty humid here though particularly after the next application

      I do not know the answer to this question. Mushrooms typically show up after lots of rain. I am not sure how the Bio's would have anything to do with mushrooms...
