This game is one the most unique game of all time. Not only did it revolutionize the superhero video game genre but it’s also the most creepy Arkham game in the series and feels so different to its sequel
Absolutely. Batman Arkham Asylum set the bar high going forward for superhero games. Spider-Man PS4 is my favorite superhero game, but I think Batman Arkham Asylum is the most important superhero game ever made. Without Arkham Asylum & its impact in the gaming industry, then Spider-Man PS4 & other great superhero games would have never existed. And I greatly appreciate what Arkham Asylum has done for the gaming industry.
The freeflowing combat and when you time the counters perfectly, it just feels so satisfying. Like I know it's button mashing but it never gets old no matter how much button mashing you do and the fact you can mix your fighting with the gadgets you have, you can become so creative and don't get me started on the stealth, the fact enemies can become afraid of you and stalk your prey. This game just made you feel like batman
This is why I don’t envy Wb Montreal, Gotham Knights will have some stiff competition, and so far with their focus on co-op and rpg elements, the battle seems uphill
I have great admiration for WB Montreal after the success of the Arkham franchise they could've easily made an Arkham clone and cashed in on its success resulting the franchise turning stale like AC but they actually went ahead created a game with an entire different universe and different mechanics. They decided to create their own legacy instead of riding on Rocksteadys that I can respect also I think Gotham Knights needs to have its own atmosphere and gameplay mechanics to succeed. I couldn't care less about RPG stuff like loot drops and optional co-op imo those things neither make or break the game
THIS is the kind of content I've been looking for. Been scrolling through RUclips for hours not wanting to watch anything until I found this channel, instantly subbed
I am normally not a huge fan of stealth I tend to go head first into battle in every opportunity I get but the Arkham games punish you in stealth sections if you go head first with the massive damage they do to you with guns in the Arkham games. And i love how you use everything you get and how enemies adapt to batman's patterns as you go through the game, so that's why I love the stealth in these games.
I got Arkham Asylum and Arkham City both for only $5 in the Black Friday sale and I’m honestly thinking about getting Arkham Knight for $4 as well, they’re great
Back in days I switched from ps2 to Xbox 360, just to play this game. Watching BTAS & reading comics often lead batman fans to dream a game like Arkham Asylum. This game was every fans dream come true!!
I remember renting this for the first time from Blockbuster, and it blew my mind, each week I'd keep begging my Dad to let me rent it again and again until i beat it
I’ll never forget playing this game for the first time when I was like 13 or so. 10+ years later and the same feelings still kick in. The atmosphere is timeless. Hands down one of my favorite game (series) ever. Back then I remember going back and fourth between RDR, AC, Uncharted and the Batman Arkham Series when I got fed up playing FIFA or CoD. The good old days…
The fact that the events of every game happen in one night makes me feel pressured to complete everything ASAP. It’s like one of those games that don’t let you deselect all missions and not have a marker on the map pressuring you to go do it when you just wanna explore. But of course I like the Arkham Series regardless.
@@masterassassin791 I mean, it's Trilogy actually. Origins was made by WB. Asylum, City and Knight, they are the original 3 games. But still love Origins
Arkham city was my fav. Played it so much. Everything about it was so great. Back when company’s took time with their games instead of pumping out a new game in the series every year.
I believe the free flowing combat system was first created and used in Spiderman 2. The Arkham series borrowed it from them. The counter system for example was spidey sense i believe. Other than that excellent game and excellent review 👍
This game has a different atmosphere compared to the sequels and while the open worlds of those games are great but this first one and it's locations are smaller and gives you time to connect with them, it sorta makes you feel like you are in a familiar home that you got used to being in.
I love the fact that every arkham is different yet so similar makes it for every type of person for example asylum is more creepy and horror atmosphere while origins is just badass knight is futuristic and city I can't rly remember but I am replaying them after watch the batman. these games were so ahead of their time and include features you can't see in other game
As a huge Batman lover thanks for making this video, I hope you get to do on the remaining Arkham games, I am probably excited about you doing one on Knight since it is my favorite honestly. Oh and are You excited for Gotham Knights?
I bought the Arkham Collection a few days ago and wanted to play all 3 of them in order, at first I didn’t like Arkham asylum during the beginning of the game, the controls were clunky and the map was stressing me out with how similar everything looked inside the prison but as the story progressed the game just started getting better and better and I got used to the more outdated game mechanics, I’d give it a 7/10… must’ve been master piece in its time but definitely could have used some better movement animations similar to the newer titles
This is one of the most monumental games of all time, the influence this game had on the industry is absolutely mental. Back in early 2000s you'd be called a madman if you'd said that a licensed game much less a superhero game would be a GOTY contender yet Rocksteady rolled in and made one of the best trilogies of all time. Not to mention the mechanical influence this game had on the industry. Unrivaled. This game is the forefather to incredible games like Spiderman
Me too but worse then that was that Harley Quinn segment where she sends out like 40 enemies to fight you inside that electricity chamber. They really made the hard mode difficult for this title
Never played it and just got it for the first time for 360 and have been having a great time. Not as good as city or Knight but for being the first, its solid Bones for the trilogy.
It’s about time this game comes to mobile. iOS alone can play PS4 games like Life Is Strange, The Last Remnant and Trials Of Mana all on a 2 core 1.64ghz CPU so this game will be no problem for a 6 core 3.23ghz CPU to handle Edit: I think I’ll ask Feral if they can port this to iOS before 2023
Originally played Asylum back in the day when I was like 10, replayed it on PS5 recently and honestly it was so ahead of its time. I also replayed City and both games don't just hold up well.... they're better than I remember. Seriously 10/10 experiences for any Batman fan. I played Arkham Knight a few years ago and that is actually my favourite in the series so I'm excited to play that again soon. We need an Origins remaster!
This game is one the most unique game of all time. Not only did it revolutionize the superhero video game genre but it’s also the most creepy Arkham game in the series and feels so different to its sequel
But City is the gane with the most similar atmosphere of Asylum.

@@FakeJake5843 In terms of Arkham games, it is best one imo

This is January 1st 2022 and I just began playing it now. Still worth it and a really good game.
the video we've been waiting for✌🏿
I played the whole Arkham series in a row this spring and the first one is special for its uniqueness. Great video! I hope to see more of bats here.

Let's not forget the Riddlers Riddles and collectibles. Adds another element that I find enjoyable.
I come back to the Arkham games every couple years and they never disappoint!
The mister freeze boss fight in Arkham city is the best boss fight I've ever played
They really need to port the Arkham Trilogy on the Switch
Arkham Trilogy is a True Gold just like Ezio Trilogy

I still have nightmares about that killer croc boss fight…
This game still kicks ass today!! For me, this game will never age!
YOOO just played the game for the first time a week back. Absolutely loved it. Must play.
Im a casual Batman fan and this game does a great job with a quick summary of the backstories of all the characters
this game doesn't get old i remember playing it and watching people play it and was so fun but now only some people play it.old but gold

Cough cough cod
*cough cough, Assassin’s Creed, cough cough*
I’m not like an OG Arkham fan but Asylum is literally the scariest game I’ve ever played.
Yes, I haven’t played any horror games.
after 12 years to be exact cause i was a freshman in high school, arkham asylum is STILL a masterpiece product over any other cbm game
Idk anything nothing can beat this masterpiece

Definitely my favorite Arkham game. The only one that stands completely on its own and can actually be played as just "another casual Batman story."
"Welcome to the madhouse batman,i set a trap and you sprang it gloriously!"
