    FBL is really interesting because the difficulty/amount of simultaneous inputs actually went up from cab to home version which is unusual for rhythm games. I'd be interested in seeing how/if sqex updates the AC cab since we don't really have an "official" button layout that accommodates FBL.

    • @SmorezPoptart
      @SmorezPoptart  Год назад

      That would be interesting to see! Their only options would be to reissue the cab with more buttons (they're offline and no longer supported so this seems like what they'd do if they did anything), or alter the songs to add the slide hold triggers back in just for the cab.

    Ok, the multi-hold was indeed the part that was scaring me with this, but you showed High Five on Supreme, which is the best exemple, and it feels more natural than I thought. I'm just scared of those big arcade controllers. I can't even play with the pro controller. For rhythm games, I feel that the tinier it is, the better I am with it. I'm actually playing with the actual Joy-Con for all my rhythm games on Switch, be it Theatrhythm, Groove Coaster, Project Diva or Taiko. All those tiny buttons and sticks, it feels quicker to press any of them without any delay.
    Thanks again for another very informative video. And LOL at the cable disconnect when you open the controller 🤣. Good choice of keeping it in 😁

    I've been really getting into this game and have been slowly working my way up to ultimate stages so to see you go through all those motions so effortlessly was so sick. The stick also looks very ergonomic, which would help with long play sessions. Have only been playing on handheld mode to avoid as much lag as possible, cause I've noticed my pro controller would have slight input delay but that also could be my capture card having issues. But this looks great, I'm interested, and fantastic review!

    • @SmorezPoptart

This video was definitely helpful for seeing things to do better before I make the final version of mine, like having the sticks recessed definitely looks better than having them up high like a normal arcade stick. (Disclaimer, I have not had the opportunity to play this on a cab so I was blindly going about this.)

If you ever have any questions, don’t hesitate to ask. Yea, the buttons are the same diameter as the the ASC cabinet, I wanted to keep the dimensions as true as practically possible. I also have absolutely ginormous hands, so it works perfect! The trickiest part was coming up with a design that replicated the slider mechanism of the actual cabinet. But, I was able to solve that mystery.

    Hello and thank you very much for the video covering this controller. I’m currently in the process of ordering the Fanta Palm from Ash, the guy who is making these as his order form just opened up. I had asked if he would put in the PS5 adapter as an upgrade and he said that the Brooks company said that it would only work with Fighting Game controllers and that could not guarantee that the Fanta Palm would work on the PS5.
    I was wondering, in your video you mentioned that you had the upgraded adapter. Does it work for you on PS5? Knowing this would be very helpful! Thank you very much for your time and for doing a great video!

    • @SmorezPoptart
      @SmorezPoptart  Год назад

      I’m actually not sure! I play on the switch and don’t own a ps5 yet. I do remember seeing something about that but have no way to verify on my own. I’m not sure if that’s something that could be changed in the future on Sonys end with ps5 updates.

    • @SkyeWelse
      @SkyeWelse Год назад +1

      @@SmorezPoptart Thanks for the reply. I “think” I have found out the answer in case you or others folks on your channel are wondering. I did some research on it after the controller’s maker, Ash, said that he wasn’t quite sure if this controller was compatible with PS5. He had asked the Brooks company and their response was that it would only be compatible with fighting game controllers on the PS5 and not other controllers. That was a bit of a difficult comment to understand given that the adapter that was added to some of these is well… made for PS5 support. I believe I now understand what was actually meant by this now. Since Final Bar Line is a PS4 game, the controller hardware by default will work with PS4 games. That means it would work whether you play it on an actual PS4 or a PS5. It should make
      no difference. If Final Bar Line or other games that are actually made for PS5 or have PS5 versions, that is where this controller with the books adapter specifically might not be guaranteed to work as intended since it’s not really a fight stick so to speak.
      The only real proof I have of that is someone I spoke with who bought a Fanta Palm but did not do the PS5 Brooks adapter upgrade and his works just fine on his PS5 with Final Bar Line. There’s apparently a little trick you have to do where you sign in to the PS5 using a different controller first and then plugging this in to the front USB jack. It should be recognized by the PS5 and from what I’ve read, it reads it as a Switch controller, which is interesting. But they did say it worked and thats good enough for me. I decided to go ahead and order one so I should know soon!
      Anyhow, great channel! May have to check out some of your other videos when I have time. Congrats on getting an official All-Star Carnival cabinet. I don’t own own any official cabs myself… but I’ve been known to have Frankensteined a full SDVX setup with wings and a custom arcade setup for Nostalgia and Chunithm and many other rhythm games using official panels from some dismantled cabs… lol They turned out pretty well though!

    • @SmorezPoptart
      @SmorezPoptart  Год назад +1

      That’s some really good insight, thanks! Yeah I wasn’t sure how backwards compatibility works on the ps5, I just knew it was a ps4 game but you can play it on ps5. Controllers and mods have always been so weird no matter what console.
