Paulie has the greatest expression of "what the fuck is going on" throughout the whole scene. It's almost as if they didn't tell the actor this scene existed.
+Crocalu Because without the cuts to give the impression of something incredible it was otherwise just a motorized serving tray with a headlight and a speaker
The HAPPYBIRTHDAYPAULIE actually perfectly in time. It hits on the four and ends on the one, or technically the "e" of one, which would be the second sixteenth note of the measure
Oh, look, it's the entire 80's in one scene. Music, interests, and all. This is one of my favorite Rocky moments but it is also the most bizarre Rocky moment.
This is why RUclips is one of the best inventions ever, you can just type in your favorite scene or any random video snippet and bam! Some crazy person has already thought to post it.
Rocky: Its great Paulie, what's not to love, you got the robot, you got the lights, you got the cake, come'on Paulie, you know, we put alotta effort into this, just look at it, its your own robot, you know, when we were in Philly how badly I'd give to have a, you knows, a personal robot.
Was half expecting this to still be in Paulies room when Adonis creed moved in. Covered in dust with a few old clothes scattered on top. Creed was good that that would have made it even better
Saw this on TV the other night and i was like wtf is this! Am i still watching rocky? why is there a super futuristic robot in a boxing movie! it has to be one of the most random moments in cinema history xD
I could see Burt Young being in a bad sci fi robot horror movie in the 80s. Playing the mad scientist who's done in by his own creation or some dirtball who ends up electrocuted in the bath tub.
When a franchise becomes so successful and you have -f ck you_ money. Compare that to the first movie, at the eve of production, Stallone had to sell his dog to keep a roof over his head while he found someone to buy the script yet agree to let him star in it. And even then funding was not much that they had to do guerrilla style filming. That is, not getting filming permits to film in certain locations and not paying people as extras during the training sequence.
This scene without context is still one of the funniest things ever.
I've seen this movie, and it doesn't really make any more sense *in* context either.
@@AdmiralBonetoPick😂
I find it even more ridiculous with context!
It really is. Just saw it on amc!!!
Yes it's hilarious and I don't know why😂 🤖Happy birthday Paulie 😂
Paulie has the greatest expression of "what the fuck is going on" throughout the whole scene. It's almost as if they didn't tell the actor this scene existed.
It’s the exact same expression I had when I first saw this scene
17 cuts. They put 17 cuts in a 22-second sequence about a robot carrying a birthday cake wishing someone a happy birthday. Sublime.
The editor just said "Fuck it" that day.
+Crocalu Because without the cuts to give the impression of something incredible it was otherwise just a motorized serving tray with a headlight and a speaker
i got 18
Just remember that James Brown loved the robot so much he took it on tour with him. And that it was at one point a registered member of SAG.
There were actually 18.
That music just seals the deal.
The amazing tune, and the sudden HAPPYBIRTHDAYPAULIE which I can never point out when it's going to come out...Haha, so awesome.
The HAPPYBIRTHDAYPAULIE actually perfectly in time. It hits on the four and ends on the one, or technically the "e" of one, which would be the second sixteenth note of the measure

Paulie's face is the same face everyone who's seeing Rocky IV for the first time when this scene happens.
Fear, confusion, uncertainty to whether you should show appreciation or feel insulted.
This is why RUclips is one of the best inventions ever, you can just type in your favorite scene or any random video snippet and bam! Some crazy person has already thought to post it.
russell perez *was
Nowadays they censorship a lot of shit.
russell perez yes
!!!
This is your favorite movie scene ever?
I imagine a senile individual ravenously posting random clips on Yt all day long 🤣
Shut the fuck up
This scene directed by Tommy Wiseau
+phily4life you're my favorite customer
Thanksalot bye...
Oh hi Paulie
Don’t you mean... “Rocky Wiseau?”
Mr. Stallone was the director for Rocky 4.
I have sent this to my best mate for the last 10 years on his birthday without fail. No card, no present, No words. Just 80s love.
Is his name Paulie?
Sounds just like a shitty friendship
I do the same to my cousin lmfao 😂
I do this to everyone I know
@@jaynemo674always gotta be that one guy
I love how excited Rocky is
Are we sure he didn't already have the brain damage 🤔
Rocky: Its great Paulie, what's not to love, you got the robot, you got the lights, you got the cake, come'on Paulie, you know, we put alotta effort into this, just look at it, its your own robot, you know, when we were in Philly how badly I'd give to have a, you knows, a personal robot.
The best part is when Paulie programs it with a woman's voice and then they all pack up and go to Russia while it takes care of the son.
I thought you were joking. Had to Google it, then I saw it.
Still saying happybirthdaypaulie!
Hahaaaaa
Hahaaaaaaaaa
"Damn it, Stewie! Get these crappy 80's movie robots outta here!"
Nearly two years late, buddy.
Was about to like but that Steven universe.... eh
Fr
Me too!
😂😂😂😂
Was half expecting this to still be in Paulies room when Adonis creed moved in. Covered in dust with a few old clothes scattered on top. Creed was good that that would have made it even better
Can we just rename "Jumping the shark" to "Gifting the robot"?
second
fuck you mean, rocky 4 was awesome.
I've always loved how the voice line sounds like it's part of the music and initiating the incoming melody.
That's because it is. I listened to the track recently and I was completely baffled at how that wasn't just part of the movie.
RIP Burt Young. Paulie was a classic.
hands down the best scene in any rocky movie
R.I.P. Burt Young 😢
3 hrs later.. Paulie boinks the robot.
Hey rock, I'm inserting my floppy!
I'm givin' it the ol hard drive!
This scene is the one I will always remember paulie for. Rip😢
Ah man, I was just wandering here to see some goofy 80s moments and didn't know he passed away. RIP Burt Young/Paulie/Bobby Bacala Sr.
RIP Burt Young. Always think of this scene!
EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS SCENE IS AWESOME
Notice that NO ONE has disliked this video? That's because it's absolute perfection.
I noticed nobody dislike the video for other reasons
@@FFP_BF2 this comment is from 10 years ago, when youtube still had a like/dislike bar
RESTINPEACE PAULIE
RIP Burt Young.
"So you see this movie is about Boxing"
the little whimiscal futuristic jingle toward the end is phenomenal. It never fails to make me smile.
That music is 80s as hell! Love it!
Unfortunately, the robot is going to be excluded from the Director's Cut of Rocky 4.
Thank fuck for that!
I've watched this 1728 times since I found it, I wish it was my alarm clock.
This tune just oozes chaotic energy and i love it 😂
I will never send anything else to my friends on their birthdays.
Same.
Look Stewie, get these stupid 80’s movie robots out of here and leave me alone!
The face look of Paulie sums exactly this scene.
Saw this on TV the other night and i was like wtf is this! Am i still watching rocky? why is there a super futuristic robot in a boxing movie! it has to be one of the most random moments in cinema history xD
Most intense birthday
RIP Paulie. Rocky wouldn’t of been the same without you, take care 👼
Most Classic Scene Ever!
R.I.P. Burt Young
I’m gonna tell my kids this is Rocky and they have a statue of him in Philly because of this scene
That bass is absolutely pumping!
Paulie's looking at the robot like "What...the actual...fuck?"
The music is fucking awesom
BoboDoboRobo Vince Dicola is the man!
The best scene in any rocky movie.
Best scene in any movie
Rest in Peace Paulie
What an efficient way of celebrating one's birthday.
Thank you for this wonderful gift you’ve bestowed upon us. 🙏
The music, the robot, the excessive cuts....and the highlight is still Paulie's unamused facial expressions
One of the defining moments of the rocky franchise.
Hi everyone who watched family guy tonight. Thank you to the writer(s) who put this in. So fuckin classic.
I actually watched rocky
A remix of this would be amazing, that music's fantastic!
noisyturtle There's one out there. Just "came" from there.
Link, please.
The greatest scene put to film
The amount of cuts in this scene is fucking mental. FOR A BIRTHDAY! Amazing
How could anyone possibly hate this
I send this to my brothers on their bdays. None are named Paulie. We laugh. Thanks
Brings new meaning to "give them something to do" in regards to your side characters.
I'm here because of pyropuncher.
I was under the impression Rocky was a serious movie franchise until I saw this clip.
It is
Ladies and Gentlemen, the scene which earned the distinction known as the Shark Jumper 5000...according to the Nostalgia Critic Review of this movie
RIP Paulie...funny this 17 cuts in 22 seconds.
Damn I'm gonna miss Burt Young.
RIP Burt Young aka Paulie
Rocky IV is amazing in all aspects
A MASTERCLASS IN EDITING!!!
REST IN PEACE PAULIE🤖
Rest in Peace Paulie :(
If you look real close, you can see Rocky jumping the shark.
I could see Burt Young being in a bad sci fi robot horror movie in the 80s. Playing the mad scientist who's done in by his own creation or some dirtball who ends up electrocuted in the bath tub.
I always refer to Rocky IV as "The one with the robot"
"Stewie get these stupid 80's movie robots out of here and leave me alone!"
I seriously don't understand how something can be this funny
And Cinema Sins also sent me here... I can’t stop!!!
Love the music
It's a shame that the Robot didn't reprise it's role in Rocky Balboa.
RIP BURT YOUNG!
My uncle said at he walked out. of the theater in disgust when he saw this "hard to believe the first film won an oscar"
No offense, but your uncle sounds like a real piece of shit
Damn, he missed both Drago matches because of a dumb robot. That's crazy!
Your uncle sounds like he hates fun.

1986: Wow this is a cool robot, very high tech
2024: Figure 01 Open Ai doing human tasks
Never noticed how good the bassline is til now, ooooh
Mid eighties were amazing.
The real crime was that this amazing character did not come back for Creed or Creed II
It's Sucks that All the Rocky Characters Died expect Rocky Sr. & Jr. In the Creed Movies.
Rest in peace Paulie!
The scene itself is weird but the music goes hard as shit
RIP Paulie
This is the funniest shit i ever seen in my life my sense of humor is broken af 😂🤣💀
The music is so apt frigging awesome this is
Editor: How many cuts should we have in this scene?
Director: Yes.
what were they thinking in making this scene...
That's right! It's the Shark Jumper 2000!
Yo Mikey!
This is what love looks like between bros.

I'm so gonna make this into a full song.

REST IN PEACE, PAULIE❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Sounds like a Yamaha CS-80 in the soundtrack (same keyboard that made the etheric bladerunner soundtrack). Now the robot is even more awesome!
