From Vancouver, can confirm this is pretty standard. Crazy that you only have to test once in your life to operate a metal death machine.
I keep saying it...every 5 years, people should be tested. It will save many lives and insurance.
@@Schroefdoppie lol how will that help? It will eliminate only a couple stupid boomers, but it won't help with the speeders, drunks, distracted drivers, road ragers, ppl with bad reflexes, ppl who don't maintain their cars, unsecure loads and insurance scammers. There's like 50 000 things a test won't discover
@@Schroefdoppie Also, there's way too many left turns u have to take blindly like at 6:24. Many intersections are way worse than that. Intersection technology is 40 years behind where it should be.
@@BenLA5 it will eliminate a couple stupid boomers which is a hell of a lot than it seems
i meannnn we're already pretty good considering we need to get and L and N first, problem is international drivers don need to got through that....
I've been driving here since the late 80s, and the amount of bad drivers on the road have gotten a lot worse.
Number of not amount unless you are referring to them when they are in grounded up mass. Can you count them? Then it's number of.
@@FirstLastOne huh?
That's because the amount of immigrants with N driver's licenses (a license to drive without proper testing) handed to them the moment they step off the plane to fuel the luxury car market
@@leibmoshe nailed it
That is the honest truth sadly. They should be turned around at the border

In Vancouver just like everywhere else
Wholly collection!! No wonder our rates are so bad!!!
Elder scroll's NPC actually make more sense than people in real life sometimes
10:47 he went super saiyan
Dude I'm so tired of slow ass drivers hogging the left lane. I'll literally ride the horn and spam flashes till they get out of the way lmao. Driving slowly in the left hand lane can also get you a 100-167$ ticket and 2-3 points.
Wow cycling and pedestrian infrastructure in Vancouver is horrible
I literally have 10 years worth of saved dashcam clips in Vancouver on my hard drive 😐

Well.. . Upload
I'm so sick of everyone misusing the word "literally". The word you should use is "probably" or "might". 🤦🏼♂️
@@RavenMaven are you a tard? “Literally” is a colloquial first off, and when they say “literally”, it means they do have that thing. “Might” or “probably” indicates an uncertainty. I’m so sick of people expressing their woes over typing in unrelated video comment sections.

I moved out here 4 years ago. Amazing place to live, but every day I consider moving back east, for one reason, and one reason only, and that is the roads. Everything about the roads, from the drivers, to the ICBC, to the roads themselves is just... the worst.
@Uta good god. That's unlivable. This province absolutely hates people who drive.
except in winter lol. Winter driving was an ordeal when I lived in Ontario. Fun though on quiet streets with your E-brake :p
Finally a great Vancouver RUclipsr

I actually quite like your narrating, you aren't repeating yourself and you don't give us any crappy jokes. Just nice all the way through
10:10 I have nearly teaboned cars trying to turn onto Oak from 57th about 4 times already this year. You have no idea how often that occurs.
I’m a learner driver something like that almost happen if I didn’t saw the cars beside me already stopped to let the guy go in the parking lot I would plow into him I’m just lucky that I remember to stop to see if anybody cominng through
4:09 legally your supposed to drive with the hood open (looking under the u shape of the hood) and only pull over when it’s safe to do so with enough space. A bridge wouldn’t qualify so that person was in the right there
Great video man, not many of these videos have a commentary and it's nice to get a bit of description or opinion. Keep it up
Some people love it and some people hate it....I'm just trying to do things different lol
The clip of the guy in the blue car having a bit of a hard time parking is at poirer rec centre in coquitlam
You need to be the next director for “Tourism in BC”
6:56 I see people in car shares (evo, modo, car2go, etc) doing this stuff all the time and a lot of them end up in accidents. I feel people who use car shares rarely get behind the wheel and therefore forget basic driving skills.
Those assclowns have anonymity because it isn’t their car and they feel they can’t be tracked down or traced.
@@leng3115 Yeah. But it's one thing to act like a jackass when driving vs not knowing how one-way streets work or causing accidents for being in the wrong turn lane, etc.
8:13 This clip is not Chilliwack. I thought I recognized the corner. It's in Richmond. Shell Rd and Williams facing Northbound.
Officially my new favourite RUclips channel
Thanks!
This is exactly what happens when your Motor Vehicle Branch & Insurance Corporation (ICBC) allows pretty much anyone to get a DL. Don't believe me? Talk to a MVB Instructors/Examiners, and they will tell you they have quotas each month, there is literally a MAXIMUM that they can fail, and you would be surprised at how low that number is. ICBC wants anyone with a heartbeat to buy insurance. these days.
My PET PEEVE is the Class 1 (Truck Drivers) that use the Left Lane like its their "Special" use for them only. Knight street is a Prime example. Drive up and down it and you will see 2-3 abreast of each other all jockeying for position going up hill holding up traffic thinking its hilarious. The highways are the worst for this, they just gotta try and pass a "slower" truck/vehicle, then stay in the LEFT/FAST Lane like they own it. You ever get stuck behind one of these clowns while going up the Coq or another highway b/c they think they can "pass" another?
Simple fix: Class 1 (Truck Drivers) are not allowed to pass/use the LEFT/FAST Lane for any reason, unless to give room for an accident/emergency vehicles on side of highway, from 6am until 8pm 7 days a weeks.
You want to see accidents go down? & safer driving conditions? While also smoothing out and helping the flow of traffic on a daily basis? This one vehicle regulation is a GREAT STEP to curb those idiots. Give them 1 warning and 1 months grace to get into line, pun intended.
PS. For the record I have my Class 1 thru 6 and am a PROFESSIONAL DRIVER for over 20 years now.
I was only in Vancouver for a week this year but in that time I almost got run down on my bike a half dozen times from Richmond to Surrey by people running red lights, not paying attention, and driving in bike lanes.
yeah, you should always be careful using bike lanes, in any city. Lots of drivers completely forget about them.
Vancouver and Toronto are the worst place to drive in Canada. I have lived in Vancouver for 4 years and had over 5 rear end collusions. 4 times Asians rear ended my car, and 1 time a new driver. Many times I have avoided accidents. I should have been killed by now, survived! Yey!
In Toronto I have lived for 2 years and 2 rear end collusions I wasn't driving, the accident was so bad, Now I have broken back and hernia to go with it. And Insurance never paid! They scamed us.
Now I live in Montréal, here roads are not so great but i am sure here also we have got bad drivers not as much as Vancouver and Toronto.
Please pay attention to the Road! put your phone away, unless you are using google map. Don't text drive or most people get blinded when they are on the phone, so those people shouldn't be phone when driving.
Accidents should be considered as attempted murder and the punishments to go along with it, then this types of accidents will stop! I am 100% sure of that!
The Howells55 video looks like Williams and Shell Rd in Richmond. Near the Circle K store
@Rob Thomas macs stores across Canada have recently rebranded as circle K except for the ones in Quebec
Near the trail and nature park too
7:37 that's 100% a Chinese woman that is afraid of getting a tan. You see that all the time in China, people even get these mesh fabric things for their entire interior and special light fabric gloves and face masks to cover all their skin.
@8:17 That's Williams and Shell in Richmond, the homeowner has some other crazy footage on a facebook group of that intersection lol
Hey 2 of my friends were on that bus in the first clip I remember them posting about it 😂
None of this suprises me. Vancouver hands down has the worst drivers. Worse than Israel even!
These demonstrations of bad drivers is brought to you by and sponsored by ICBC.
3:49 common thing to happen, leaving parking brake on when its wet and it seizes stuck to the brake drum locking the wheels. This generally is fixed when its not slippery outside as the tire friction breaks it free, but I've had it happen multiple times where I had to get to somewhere with dry road to unstick the rear brake drums.
that insurance scam thing happened to my uncle, he is still fighting it in court :(

No Wonder there's a show called "Canada's Worst drivers." lol.

8:14 shell road and Williams
Yep. Passed by it many times.
That's why I hate driving in Vancouver. I will stick to my Vancouver Island 😂
I Wish science would come up for a cure for stupidity. Driving in the lower Mainland is running the gauntlet every time.
I do believe ICBC has a huge problem on license issue
Woot the worst fo 2020
the problem the Motor Vehicle branch and ICBC, the system is flawed and corrupt thats why our insurance is so expensive, defensive driving course, thats educating,
100%
These videos are so good keep up the good work 😊
No wonder car insurance is so expensive these days.
Hey brother, 4:24 is at Poirier Sport & Leisure Complex in Coquitlam.
That city has a large population of specific race from Asia that is known to be very, very bad drivers, go figure.
I've seen a lot of bad BC drivers who aren't asian as well. I guess it's because of the lack of qualifications there are to obtain a licence.
One thing that won't get better in 2021 is peoples stupidity on the roads, I'm not being negative that is just a fact.
There just rewatching Petterson win the calder
Great video, thanks for posting. Scary and hilarious. I am in Toronto, and of course we have the same kind of stupid.
Before even starting the video, I have to say I am glad to know that this channel exists!
I'm not racist but everytime I've seen something like this in Vancouver, its been an asian behind the wheel..
Have you been to Surrey?
Well there are a lot of asians in Vancouver.
8:18 was from Richmond
The DTES is actually the worst lol.
T-bone (8:11) was in Richmond (not Chilliwack): Shell and Williams. More than 1 accident in this video was on Williams.
This is why insurance so high in Vancouver
That DTES clip really is an every day occurrence. I’m down there almost everyday, and I get dizzy from having my head on such a swivel.
I drove through there once at 6am and this guy was butt naked chasing my car lol
@@vancouversworstdrivers Sorry! Thought it was my connect trying to blow me off.

And people wonder why insurances so high
Nothing pisses me more off than Vancouver cyclists.
my clip made it! 12:32
Thanks for the videos much appreciated. Hopefully 2021 is better for all of us
definitely some crazy sh*t
No wonder ICBC is sky high.
There is a lack of traffic enforcements. Vancouver needs a bunch of traffic cameras like in Europe.
So many people are against even red light cameras! I'm surprised
Asians and Indians.... enough said
Vancouver drivers used to be some of the most courteous around until the influx of torontonians brought their "Unique" skills and attitudes out here.......
When did that start?
Yeah, nice try. I am one of those Toronto assholes. I'll admit we can be aggressive drivers, but that comes from the confidence of actually knowing how to drive, and having been taught how to drive properly. Nobody here in Van is taught properly. In Toronto, I could generally trust that people understood what the right-of-way is. I cannot afford to just assume that in Vancouver, otherwise I'd be getting T-boned every other day.
Bought a dash cam..., hoping to catch some crazy drivers while commute to work but haven't seen nor capture any lunatic drivers... hope to capture something and send you a video. XD
One word! ASIANS....
8:18 is at Shell and Williams rd in richmond
Can you maybe not post videos drivers record with their phones while driving? For a channel discouraging bad driving, it's not great to encourage this.
pretty clueless and its getting worse. Not sure what the hate is on the left lane hogger tho, all the hate should be deservedly on the speeder unless its 80 kph or higher. Even then the posted kph is still in effect 24 7. thanks~
The cyclist who almost got hit twice was in the right. In BC flashing green light means caution pedestrian right of way. The drivers didn't even slow down
I live in poco
Best reasons why I don’t drive in Vancouver. My boyfriend has many video like that in his drive recorder lol
Bro, videos without a commentary is much better. I felt that I am watching and hearing the CNN annoying broadcasters.
Yep! 1000% just another day in Vancouver. If your reaction time isn't 0.002 milliseconds or better, you're taking your life in your hands driving here. Complete dumpster fire everywhere, but Richmond and Kerrisdale are the worst by far!
Vancouver has the worst drivers I have ever seen in my life. I’ve been driving for 22 years without any accident, move to Vancouver 5 years ago, 2 accident both hit from the back when I was waiting for a red light. Wtf is wrong with you people??? Both driver we’re distracted.. really??🤬 ICBC needs to take away people License for 2 years if you cause accident. Take the bus and get a appreciation for driving. Make them take their driving test again to get their license. Then put them on probation for 5 years, you cause an accident again, Lose your license forever. Then people would pay attention and driver properly. 🤦🏽♀️
I moved to Vancouver from Scotland a few years back and I can tell you, even from driving in France and Italy (both kinda scary too) that Vancouver drivers are horrrrriibblleee. The amount of idiots that go all the way to the end of a merge lane then make traffic stop for them even though they had plenty of open spaces to get in at any point is crazy. Also the first thing any of my family visiting from the UK notice about Canadian drivers is, you all just pick whatever the hell lane you want to be in and stay in it, regardless of the speed you're doing. Sitting in the HOV lane doing like 80kmh, or just sitting out in the passing lane with 2 more lanes next to you empty, or the worst are the idiots that match the speed of the person in the lane next to them. In the UK if you were sitting out in the passing lane and NOT actually passing a vehicle, you'd get a ticket. Plus people here don't give you a courteous wave when you stop in a street to let them through because of parked cars. It's like their entitled to go through and don't care about you. Canadians are the nicest people you'll ever meet until they get behind the wheel of a car, no signaling, just sitting in any lane they want, don't even get me started about Round-A-bouts (traffic circles), you all have NO idea how to use them. I've seen people come to a stop to allow other people in to the circle! Mid way round!! No one signals in to the circle or out. It's pure chaos here lol. People that sit at 40km/h in a 50zone and 30zone, they just sit at 40. MOVE damn you!
Driven through this neck of the woods many time s myself in my travels. Pathetic one-car "driving schools" where useless, lazy instructors actually teach their students bad habits. It's shocking how many "pro" school commercial trucks I've seen blowing yellow and red lights at the last second. No brains, and piss-poor training. It's also the insurance company's fault for (and I'm gonna be brutally honest here) not holding "new Canadians" to the same standard and making sure they take a *Canadian* road test first. And then BC'ers wonder why their insurance company is such a disaster.
Yep, Lower Mainland at it’s finest. Nothing like rush hour mornings headed east on the #1, stuck going up the hill towards 264 because dump trucks with trailers are taking all 3 lanes. And being squeezed into the HOV lane by another trucker.
Had been thinking of going out tomorrow but now... maybe not.
Lol safer inside...either Covid or the bad drivers will get you otherwise
CHINESE
Vancouverites and people from the surrounding areas have a terrible reputation across the border in Whatcom County due to their RIDICULOUS driving. One good thing about covid is that it's closed the borders so we haven't had to deal with these goofs for a good while...
8:19 is Shell & Williams in Richmond. It’s a terrible intersection with a 2-way Stop when it actually deserves a light. Some people just plough right through not realizing Williams is a busy street
it's unfortunately easy it to drive, however, driving safely isn't quite as easy of a task.
it is worth doing things like learning how to drive defensively & offensively, as well as maneuvering while at speed, how to take evasive action.
most of these could've been avoided with patience, the ones on the highways, however, are because people dont actually understand how a car handles at increased speeds nor do they understand that the faster you go, the more likely you're going to injure or kill someone or yourself because your reaction time has now decreased.
Suspension malfunction on the bus was likely a broken tie rod end, that's the only thing I can think of that would cause the vehicle to swerve like that. Those show signs before they fail, the city is responsible for keeping their buses maintained, it's lucky nobody was hurt or there could've been a serious lawsuit!
Many bad drivers in Metro Vancouver, especially in Richmond. They dont signal to change lane, don't fully stop before the stop sign, and make right turn when road isn't even clear.
0:59 - driver: I've seen this on video clips where a car moves backward like this and the damage is fixed... c'mon... why is the damage still there? Oh, man... I'm so high!
@7:55 insurance scam. In Toronto you many many Indians doing it. Seen one who reversed into the car behind them and then claim they hit him.
Why does the cyclist bother wearing a helmet when there’s nothing there to protect?
@12:00 these drivers are definitely upset about dashcam being a thing. I thought the driver kept going after the crash
Some people just deserved to be punched in the face. I feel stupid for saying this, as if that solves anything, but some days... Ugh... Guess who pays for all of these stupidity?
You guys think this is bad? You guys should come to Calgary. At least in Vancouver everyone drives fast or tries to at least. In Calgary, it's a mixed bag
