Jigga City era music was way better than the current imo. But I'm old. It was very similar to the Thizz stuff in the Bay Area with Mac Dre and all that around the same time, just with a Louisiana twist. An old Boosie or Foxx with Mac Dre song would have been legendary.

Bro Baton Rouge wasn't the Detroit of the south and every house don't look abandon its good areas and bad areas. And most niggas from New Orleans was bused out of state to Texas. The people that had cars drove to BR. And before Katrina BR was a laid back southern city wasn't crazy but it wasn't too safe. The murder rate jumped in 2007 and died down but now every since youngboy came out the murder rate through the roof
Nah G I’m gone have to disagree w/ you on that fr. If you from BR you know Florida Blvd separate that “white side” from the “black side”… before Katrina majority of the hood areas was 70805 ,70815 ,70809 everything on one side beside Gardere ,Mayfair and a few other spots around LSU. When Katrina happened FEMA spread trailers around the city dropping families in new areas which started creating more hoods and less jobs (that’s why he’s comparing it to Detroit) BR already had its reputation it just was always over shadowed by New Orleans culture but now after all the murders people paying attention and the last comment you made bout YB ,I wouldn’t put that all on him. BR been killn ,cuz the system is crooked and they can blame that on the legal system and how they’ve done us black men out there which forces us to leave to move away…. I miss my home ,but nepotism , racism and violence to the next level in such a small area what can you really do?
@@papi2tymez say bruh this nigga that made the video is a white dude he dont know wtf he talking bout speaking on hood shit. I'm going off my experience being from the city I used to duck off in Baton Rouge 92-96 At that time BR wasn't nowere near as bad as it is now. I moved hear permanently in 05 and them niggas took me and my people in. Showed us love and embraced us like family. They went from playing sports to thugging clutching 30s . All them niggas trying to rap now.
After Katrina about 200k or more ppl from the New Orleans area moved to BR. Traffic was horrendous and grocery stores were sold out. I was at Southern during the midst of it. Most stayed temporarily. Most were gone by 06 or 07 because the lawd were harassing us. Only in Houston, Dallas and Atlanta did alot of New Orleans ppl made those cities permanent homes
Get your facts straight. BatonRouge never got took over. Neworleans is our cousins so ask them. They may call us country but we for damn sho didn't get bullied.
New Orleans killed New Orleans people to survive the same in Houston. When I moved to BR we clicked wit yall people and was robbing and headbussin anybody so yea we was there but we never war with BR niggas cause yall embraced us. It's all love fuck dude talkin bout.

You forgot the murders of BBG Iraq, BBG Pig, T Baby, Doody Black, Dutch, BBG Twin, Larry. Also at they end you showed bleeda n vultures (YKWIHF), if you find their old igs there’s pics of them all together they were all friends. You also can’t leave 300/OTG and 60 Gang (TBG youngins from Dixie) out of that one either
I’d really like to tell these young men what they’ve actually accomplished coming from where they come from to where they’re at....in the game of life in Murica y’all won. The guys you’re beefing with aren’t really the enemy ....the real enemy is the 1 who made you believe that the guy who talks like you, dresses like you, likes the same clothes, girls & music, etc is your enemy...that’s simply not true but ego & pride has their judgement so clouded they can’t see it....you young cats keep bringing the smoke cuz that’s EXACTLY what they want you to do 😞
It was august 28th, 2005. Not the 23rd. I lived through it. I was rescued by boat from my roof after 4 days. Then spent another 5 days at the convention center. Also, fema did not pay out EVERYONE. Most people like myself could not return back to new Orleans because insurance and the government only gave us pennies to a dollar compared to what our homes were worth. Lots of homes had been passed down from several generations so deeds and titles werent properly done so there were a lot of people who couldnt even prove the ownership of their homes and therefore lost everything. Whenever the rebuilt the city, the got rid of the projects and never rebuilt them. All the people from the projects had nowhere to return to and couldnt afford to move to the new places that were built. Most of the neighborhoods that were rebuilt were unaffordable to the people that had lived in that area for generations. These big corporations and investors gentrified most of the previously affordable neighborhoods and thats why most of us never went back. Its really sad to think about how i cant go back and see where i grew up. All the friends i grew up with that i have no idea where they went or what happened to them. After katrina, i would say that BR doubled if not tripled in size. At least a quarter of new orleanians move to BR or Houston. I saw something that said katrina was the largest urban displacement of people in modern american history & i do believe. Louisiana is culturally different already and katrina happening made everything even more confusing and different. All the new orleans people that moved to different cities were not welcomed with open arms in my opinion. We lost everything and then had to move to new cities that didnt want us. Thats part of the reason why crime rates spiked so bad in 06, lack of anything such as money, housing, clothing, food, etc. every basic necessity was lacking for these folks. I get so angry when i see people say that they were "looting" in new orleans after the storm. NO. THEY WERE SURVIVING! They would do the same if they had lost everything and had no food, water or clothing.
They loot every city every storm. Even if it's not that bad. Loose power for three days, clear out the liquor store and finish line and footlocker. Dumb bitch
@@everythingbashink293 y'all were definitely scared, but Houston stronger in numbers. 5 million ppl in Houston metro area and about 100k ppl from New Orleans in Houston. Out of that 100k most were good ppl. It's simple mathematics 🤦🏾♂️

Nah speaking for Memphis and Little Rock, Ark them niggas was getting laid tf down. Both of our cities been dangerous long before they arrived. Houston and Atl was really the only place where they seemed to bulldoze they way through and be tolerated at. The Crips Bloods and GDs in LR wasn’t playing with them niggas they was getting beat up or smoked that’s why a large population of them didn’t and couldn’t really make it here.

Yea he ain’t saying the right stuff or the real beefs lol
3:02 to 3:06 facts "friends turn into enemies" "families cross each other"
Bro Baton Rouge wasn't the Detroit of the south and every house don't look abandon its good areas and bad areas.
When Katrina happened FEMA spread trailers around the city dropping families in new areas which started creating more hoods and less jobs (that’s why he’s comparing it to Detroit)
BR already had its reputation it just was always over shadowed by New Orleans culture but now after all the murders people paying attention and the last comment you made bout YB ,I wouldn’t put that all on him.
Fast forward 16 years later I'm still hear and in a nigborhood that was once nice but now these lil niggas out here shooting evey night. All that shit changed in a span of four years.
@@anakingent im out the A rn but was born in Louisiana and my pops went to southern.
@@papi2tymez Nah shit ain't cool off after 2007. You can't forget how hot the streets was in 2009 during the Boosie trial.
Get your facts straight. BatonRouge never got took over. Neworleans is our cousins so ask them. They may call us country but we for damn sho didn't get bullied.
Thank you!!! I was just about to right the same thing
New Orleans killed New Orleans people to survive the same in Houston. When I moved to BR we clicked wit yall people and was robbing and headbussin anybody so yea we was there but we never war with BR niggas cause yall embraced us. It's all love fuck dude talkin bout.
He always does this in his videos to cause stir ups in the comments.
I always heard Baton Rouge call folks cross the bridge country port Allen and plaquemine. I ain’t never heard no N.O folks call BR country
@@mobbinkorrectly there's a video on Charliebo313 channel where New Orleans natives call Baton Rouge country folks.
I was raised in Dallas my whole life and he not lying. We was getting in fights with the dudes from New Orleans everyday. They was bully’s
I’m from BR bro and you ain’t lying , they tried to bully us too that shit ain’t work tho. They did boost the murder rate tho , back in 2005 In BR we was still fighting a lot. That changed over the next 5 years it ain’t no fighting no more.
I'mma lil nawf baby that's faxxx
But look what you said you fought im from houston i feel you but they aint take shit over

Also at they end you showed bleeda n vultures (YKWIHF), if you find their old igs there’s pics of them all together they were all friends. You also can’t leave 300/OTG and 60 Gang (TBG youngins from Dixie) out of that one either

Ppl real deal be getting away with foul sht for years too, its ashame.
Thats real I seen the documentary and the live footage on what your speaking on speaking .. Real survivor..💯
They loot every city every storm. Even if it's not that bad. Loose power for three days, clear out the liquor store and finish line and footlocker. Dumb bitch
It was actually August 29th, 2005

Keep it up bro like the work Tht u do 💯
Back then in Memphis Houston or Atlanta if you had an New Orleans accent it was on site because new Orleans ninjas wasn't playing and it was a war. This is why Tip caught his charge beefing with N.O. Ninja's 🤔
It’s all love tho now…back then it was dudes in the projects in N.O that only had a lil bit if nothing and then they even lost that…so it was no holds barred for them dudes in them days…they was taking it to everybody, even other people from N.O
Was waiting on this one
Great work my man, don’t stop doing your videos I been loving it💯 You should do a video if you can on any of the old Chiraq G Herbo/Lil Herb days when him and Lil Bibby were popping. Crazy because Lil Bibby is actually extremely intelligent and made himself something more than rap. Whereas Lil Herb turned into G Herbo and is blown the fuck up. Both great intertwining success stories out of the gutter. Cover G Herbo lots because I’m interested and want to see more on him since he’s so good these days. He gets put in the shadow almost these days because Durk is so awesome too.
