Small towns are rough too. I'm from Henderson, NC and it's always top 2 of worst places in NC along with Lumberton, NC which is small as well. My hometown was also considered the heroin capital of NC when it came down to drug sales and smuggling. It's a serious problem that's been going on for decades in my hometown.

The causeway isn't the only way to the Northshore, and it takes 30 mins to cross. You can go from New Orleans east to the Northshore in under 10 mins via the Twin Span bridge.

I lived 2 hours east of Bogalusa in Columbia Mississippi. Sometimes the smell of that town stretched for miles. Also check out Jackson and Hattiesburg MS.
To be fair, the whole state is dangerous, even in all the little country towns. Shreveport been the "Ratchet City" since forever, Boosie and Lava House put that on the map. Monroe, Laffy, Alexandria and Lake Charles all pretty bad crime stats for their size, and they all have little country towns around them where the crime bleeds out into. It's sad honestly, small state and a lot of folks are kin to each other and to people all over the state.

To be fair, the whole state is dangerous, even in all the little country towns. Shreveport been the "Ratchet City" since forever, Boosie and Lava House put that on the map. Monroe, Laffy, Alexandria and Lake Charles all pretty bad crime stats for their size, and they all have little country towns around them where the crime bleeds out into. It's sad honestly, small state and a lot of folks are kin to each other and to people all over the state.

I just wish we had better leaders on the state level that hadn't driven businesses out of the state over the last few decades, and would attract new businesses/jobs back to the state to give more people opportunities.
