    Hi everyone! I’ve released a video to cover an update to this build with the new Psyker talent tree.
    You can check it out here: ruclips.net/video/72jPgIJKpBE/видео.html

    Pro tip that may help you next time you're being bombed in another psyker's shield: the gas has low damage to account for it causing corruption instead of normal damage, and it has to break your toughness first. The toughness regen node for the shield can outpace the gas, so you don't have to leave it's projectile protection. Just stay in the gas if it's in a shield and melee kill and you'll be fine.

    • @TheWarhammies
      @TheWarhammies  4 месяца назад +1

      That’s a brilliant tip! I’d never thought of that so I’ll make sure to try in the next mission when running bubble. Thanks for sharing! 😁

      @@TheWarhammies Happy to help, bro. Nice build, btw. I love the classic warpfire maxing. Also, the shield doesn't just block projectiles: it deletes them. I was shocked when I noticed it after over a thousand hours in the game. Enemies can walk into the dome shield to try and shoot you if your far enough that they won't go melee, and the projectiles just won't exit their guns, it's crazy. Works on the trapper webgun as of this patch as well.

    just started using a variant of this build a few weeks ago. I have tried it with a shields to help with shooters and gunners. I like the venting shriek a little better. I started out using the MK V like you have, but I have switched to the saber to help out with Mutants, Crushers, and Maulers. the Illisi is great for hordes but the flames generally give you enough crowd control to deal with large groups.
    I also put unyielding 25% perk on my staff to help out with monstrosities. it will do pretty substantial damage to beast of nurgle and plague ogryn.

    • @TheWarhammies
      @TheWarhammies  5 месяцев назад

      I do like the duelling swords! The extra monstrosities damage on the staff sounds like a good move to give the team the extra edge when fighting them. I haven’t tuned my staff yet as I don’t have all the blessings unlocked!

      Slab Shield Ogryns are the best! I'm always happy to have one on the team and I hope that the game we played together went well! I must say it's a first to be recognised but thank you for watching. There's more Darktide content on the way, including builds for the other classes!

    Combining basic attack spam with well timed dodges has saved my ass from hordes more times than I can remember. I usually run the shield so I dont get the Venting Shriek push though...should try that sometime.

    Shrieks Force Push is great but I find it really challenging to not bring Bubble shield in higher contact to counter ranged for the team.

      @TheWarhammies  4 месяца назад

      I do love using the bubble shield for the support it brings the team! I try and make my builds use different abilities and weapons to make the gameplay style unique to each one.

  • @kunkal-y3l

    Personally, I think the Soul Stealer can be replaced with Mettle. The high critical strike and area damage of the Fire Staff have a very terrifying toughness recovery ability when fighting against the enemy horde. The kinetic flayer has only a 10% chance, and it feels dispensable. You can save it and bring a 5% critical strike chance. Kinetic Presence can be replaced with Seer s Presence. Using venting shriek more frequently can not only attach Soul Fire to the enemies, but also save your life and reduce heat. The most important thing is to need the term Empathic Evasion,it can help Psyker continuously attack when the gunner are in formation to ensure survival ability

    • @kunkal-y3l
      @kunkal-y3l 4 месяца назад +1

      Since the Fire Staff needs critical strikes to quickly attach multiple layers of Soul Fire to the enemies, there is no reason not to choose Warp Nexus for the Fire Staff's blessing. And since the Fire Staff has a strong ability against groups, the melee weapon can be replaced with Deimos or Duelling Sword to enhance the ability to deal with single targets, especially carapace armoured units. By this way, there basically aren't any weaknesses🤔

    • @TheWarhammies
      @TheWarhammies  4 месяца назад

      Those are some good suggestions. I’ll have to give them a play around next time I run the build. I do have a soft spot for kinetic flayer though as I find it rather funny when it pops!
      I was not aware the staff applies more soulblaze if it is a critical hit. Any idea of how much more per hit?

    • @kunkal-y3l
      @kunkal-y3l 4 месяца назад

      @@TheWarhammiesA critical hit will attach two layers of Soul blaze to the enemy. Because the direct damage of the Fire Staff is very weak, the main source of damage is DOT. So the talents and weapons should focus on how to attach fire to the enemy more quickly or, in other words, how to stack critical hits. After quickly attaching the maximum 14 layers of Soul blaze to the elite enemy under the peril of 83, using Venting shriek can increase the Soul blaze to the maximum 20 layers. The DOT is very considerable.

    • @kunkal-y3l
      @kunkal-y3l 4 месяца назад

      @@TheWarhammiesKinetic Flayer isn't completely useless. It's just that it doesn't suit the characteristics of the Fire Staff. The large-scale Warp damage will make Kinetic Flayer easily be triggered on some trash units. So it's more suitable for more precise and dedicated weapons, such as the Nomanus Mk VI Surge Force Staff. When Kinetic Flayer is triggered and the weapon is fully charged, it can instantly kill any elite unit except Ogryns.

    When Brain Bursting, hold right mouse button so you don't lose progress on your brain burst every time a target dies.
    Consider using a Dual Shock IV to one shot muties in the head.
    Personally, I use a trauma stick with soul blaze and warp nexus, because it offers a greater stagger/stun than the LMB of Fire stick.

    • @TheWarhammies
      @TheWarhammies  5 месяцев назад

      Ah, I can never time the charged brain burst properly! A few people have recommended the trauma staff, I’ll have to give it a go!

  • @Veno160
    @Veno160 5 месяцев назад +2

    I would personally remove Kinetic Flayer because,the uncontrolable Brain Burst on hit is not worth,more often than not triggering on trash mobs.
    Seer's Presence is better compared to Kinetic Presence mainly because it allows you to spam your ability almost every 10 seconds with the proper curios
    And since this build is heavy crit focused,using Mettle and Perfect timing would be advised since Soul Fire is considered Warp Damage

    • @TheWarhammies
      @TheWarhammies  5 месяцев назад

      Those are some good suggestions! I’ll make sure to give them a go when I next run the build.

  • @UponGiantsShoulders
    @UponGiantsShoulders 5 месяцев назад +4

    EP is soo much better than warp charges for Purgatus builds. Purg is peril efficient and does not need venting, take bubble, and low base damage means %diff on warp charges is not as needed. TTK difference is negligible. But with EP, you store charges. Use charges as a pre-loaded fast powerful BB, then pop bubble to keep it going with that 10 second buff. Use Celerity stim to increase duration even further. Quell speed is helpful, but also not needed.

    • @TheWarhammies

      Hi! This build was never designed to be fully optimal, but rather a fun way to play the game by setting things on fire. The build you’ve suggested sounds like a great way to maximise brain bursting potential!

    • @TheWarhammies
      @TheWarhammies  5 месяцев назад +1

      Is that rolling with the blessing that gives soulblaze on critical hit? I can’t say I’ve ever used it as I haven’t got a high tier version of it. It might be worth investing the plasteel to get!

    • @PatrixBest
      @PatrixBest 5 месяцев назад +1

      @@TheWarhammies yes, and the other blessing to raise the critical chance as your peril rises. The outer blast radius of the trauma staff is enormous so when you crit you basically a0ply soulblaze to anything in view. And when you dont, well, its still a trauma staff so it'll destroy whatever it hits and knock down everything else
