That warble and quill sounded incredible, and to hear a new K5H compared to an old sand cast K5H is such a difference, to bad they ended up sounding like they have 3A/4A bells the old ones have more eerie dominance like a steam whistle which Robert Swanson was intending for, the Americans wanted a different tuned horn but the Canadian himself liked straight bells. Thanks for the upload!
Fantastic RL K5H. I normally don't like the standard RL K5's but I've had a fondness for RL K5Hs/Ls and RL Hybrids for years now. Such a unique and abnormal tone. And that's coming from a whistle enthusiast that loves 70s & 80s era K horns the most.
The 3 and 4 are actually a 1/2 step higher than the 3a and 4a so the voicing of the K5H would actually be a bit higher than the K5LA. That being said the top and bottom chimes are the same so the whole chord in itself isn’t any higher or lower than that of a K5LA
To be honest Iv found that my older IPhone 6s Plus works best when recording Audio as crazy as it sounds. Alot of the newer mics Iv tried all want to dial back the volume once the horn gets close causing all audio to be very low once the horn passes the mic. If that makes sense.
@@TheHornKingthat makes perfect sense because that's exactly the problem that I am having. Luckily I do have an iPhone 6 with a broken screen. So taking your advice on thinking of fixing it that way I can use it to record because all my other recordings sound really low or not at all. Thank you so much for the info
@@TheHornKing I'm kind of curious to how this horn's Doppler effect would sound if you reverse the number one and number two bells and pointed the 3,4 and 5 Bells back and the 1 and 2 facing forward

I was going to say that too but i didn't know the word 😂. I was going to say that turkey sound.🦃

Thanks for explaining the difference in K5H and K5HL and K5LLA. They would make a great horn battle video
Raised Letter K5H's sound pretty awesome, but nothing beats the original BC rail K5H.
Agree!
Sweet sound of the K5H! Next Try the same RL K5H Vs a RL K5HL if you can
I would be down to see that video
That vid is up next! Already got it made. It’s this K5H vs the green/gold RL K5HL
Sounds great, just like MBTA 1055’s RL K5L!
Yes
Do you need special mics 🎤🎙️ for the drive-by?

I wonder what it would sound like if you reversed the number 2 bell?
Iv got a BNSF K5HL that I’ll be running R2 coming here soon

@@TheHornKing and also I didn't think they made K5H's anymore.
Sounds just like a BNSF's k5hl
Flat bells
