I like the rat the best:) At most we had 13 at the same time but now we are down to zero. Such lovely little guys. Any chance you guys could do a little rat vid? (No need to ask for guitar vids, already watching those:))
Clearly, you are the winner for having all that! Honestly, I'd take your dad's 79, It was just clearer and cleaner, and the notes just seemed more pure.
Rabea, It doesn't matter if it's a $200 Squire or a $3,500 custom shop, you can make any of these guitars sound brilliant. You play with such heart and soul, I could listen to you jam all day long. And I've been playing for over 20 years!! Keep rockin brother.
For me I thought they all sounded awesome, and different in their own way. BUT... I felt like I felt your soul when you were playing your dad's 79' and that was truely beautiful sir
BEST.STRAT.DEMO.EVER. When I was younger I used to despise Strats, as I have gotten older I have come to appreciate them tonally. Anyone else have this experience? Love the Bea reviews, very thorough, sincere and totally relatable.
Love the 79 Strat. Guitars definitely soak up the energy of being played and bed-in becoming more musical. I have a '78 Precision bass that I have owned for almost 30 years. It has a lot of miles on the clock now but is the best sounding, best playing bass I have ever owned.
Well, you certainly seem to love the 55 RI and you Dad's strat the most. Your phrasing just was off the map on them both as they took you somewhere else. Strats are always a see-saw and a mixed bag. Your chops are so sick. But I'm glad you get it about the strat. It always falls easy on the ear, clean, chunky or filthy dirty and you never assaulted by its innocent tone even when it growls. I like a jazz box now and then, a classical played with a pick, or a 335 occasionally but I have never tired of the sweet chime of a strat in over 50 years. I'm a big fan of the Captain as well. I love those tasty blues licks he always comes up with. Excellent video. Thank you.
+Rabea Massaad The first electric I ever had was a 1979 Fender Strat. Long gone. I didn't realize at the time, but I bought another one because of you and your dad! . . . and yes it is heavy and sounds massive!!! Thanks
I never had you pegged as a Strat man Bea, but after watching this, and listening to the amazing sounds you get out of it, I can safely say; more please!
Got halfway through the video thinking 'man these strats sound fucking awful, what's going on' then I realised I had a stupid treble boost in my chrome EQ and it was ruining everything
After watching this video, I knew that I needed to get a Custom Shop Strat. I got a CS '63 Journeyman Relic in Shell Pink, which was only used on '60-'63 Fenders. The '63 has a nice round neck, and those CS hand wound pickups are amazing. I still want to get a '50s with the boatneck too. Keep up the great work Bea.
Your dad's is my favorite probably all around. I completely understand the guitar holding the energy in it, that's how I feel about my Epiphone Les Paul. It's only been gigging for about 6 years but I always end up going back to it because it's a part of me now.
I have to say, I am probably 40 years older than you, and love Strats, but you bring some thing out of them, that makes my heat melt. I agree wholeheartedly with your view on these lovely Strats. You make me want to start again. My hands are now not too good for playing, but when I see you I just can't stop watching. Please keep making these vids ,you must surely be the best inspiration for up and coming new players.iI also love all the Andertons vis, with the Captain and Chappers, it was watching them plying the Clasic Vibe Tele, that prompted me to buy one from them, and I haven't been disappointed. Again thank you for your wonderful vids. Shabby.
+Ken Randall Hi! Unless you've got some real medical probs with your hands, you will get it back. I lift off playing for many years, and despite the initial frustration -- and thinking I had lost it forever! -- some regular practice, just diddling away, brought it back. The only thing I need now is to recover my imagination for what I play, and I think the best way is to sing it then play it. I'm 62, BTW.
+Ndlanding Thanks for your very kind words, you are probably right, but it's a daunting problem when watching Rabea playing so well. Starting again is hard, but you have given me the encouragement to try harder, and I thank you from the bottom of my heart,
Killed it on the 79 man! Usually I prefer a nice clean or moderate crunchy blues, but even the metal-esque stuff on the 79 was giving me goosebumps! Great playin
scaredypicker much more "personality".. I always said that the Fenders were the harder of the 2 brands Fender and Gibson to play and I always said: "Gibsons are the 5 dollar prostitute it is easier to work with makes you appear better than you are. Meanwhile the Gender is the high class woman who requires more work to get a good relationship with and is much harder to sound good with" real guitar experts choose Fender
That is really an amazing argument. Fender is better because their guitars are harder to play. Yeah, cool buddy. I'd rather have a guitar that is easier to play. By your logic the 50 dollar indonesian guitar with ultra high action and sharp fret ends is the ultimate choice. Edit: Gibson vs. Fender is a matter of personal taste. They both play great. I prefer the narrower nut width and the neck shape of a Gibson, but I throughly enjoy playing a Strat every now and then too. PRS sucks though, absolutely no comparison to either of these two.
Great to see that someone has the balls to play strats dirty,..odd that most strats on youtube are always clean. But they also sounds fantastic dirty and played hard. LOVE the video!!
You could hear how much you were getting in to it! That last bit was so awesome I can't even begin to explain ahaha. Makes me want to paint my strat black and relic it ;)
'79 Strat. I was born in the same year and the all black finish goes really well with that guitar. Plus it was genuinely used and it has all the history of the past 37 years in it.
Interesting....I came from the cello and I think that this contioned my preference for Gibson, glued necks, body shape, bellied tops and neck not to metnion the thick creamy sustain.
I think it has to do with the fact that Gibson fretboards are angled back from the body more than those on a strat or tele. It puts your fretting arm in a different position. The Fender design brings your elbow out from your body a little more. I remember finding it tough to switch back and forth between my old strat and my LP custom. After a few minutes, everything is fine, but the immediate difference was striking.
That could have to do with the scale length and fretboard radius, fenders are 25.5” from bridge to nut, which makes the strings feel a little tighter for the same string gauge. Gibson’s are 24.75” which makes them feel a little “easier” to play Then older fender have a 7.25” radius and modern ones have a 9.5” radius, which is rounder than Gibson’s 12” radius, a flatter radius is generally considered less comfortable for chording, and better for bending and lead lines
Bea - REALLY good video here. It's rare to see one of these things where the characteristics are clear on different instruments. I'd have to say I agree with you, the '55 RI looks and sound amazing but your Dad's '79 sounds killer and you were having a blast with it!
The Customshop easily sounded the best and, while I understand you paying respect to your dad's guitar, the Customshop Strat seemed to bring out the best in your playing. I want.
They're all great.. Mate, you're rapidly becoming one of my favourite players to watch. When you play that funky blues rock (Jimi / SRV) & add your own musical input, I get all inspired & grab one of my guitars. Cheers Bea, good work!
CS Relic, 79, Rita Relic, Standard. That '79 sounds amazing. Really dark and smooth, which is a unique characteristic, but I kinda prefer it slightly brighter. Thanks for this!
THANKS for this. it's proof, once again, that a great player makes everything sound good. and you are a superb talent. makes me want to grab my strat (roadworn blackie) and get busy.
the 79 of your dads has the best driven tones. rita has the best cleans.the 55 is most authenthic.the standard has the same problem like mine. too metallic.lacking soul and roudness. how does ritas neck differs from the 55? same width and thickness? and yes the 79 is best because all the inner stress resulting from making the guitar is played out...it moves freely entirely.you call it soul i would say its physics. use the 55 as much as possible and it could get even better.until then the othter three will sound and play restrained due to the residual stresses from the building process
+K Roadster yeah man, I know exactly what you mean. I think I will have this 55 for the rest of my career it's a beauty! The neck in Rita is much thinner. More like the standard, but the fretboard is flatter. Probably because it's not a fender. It's bloody hard to play!
This video would have been way less entertaining if i had just given you a clean tone and nothing else. That's way I gave a straight up clean tone at the beginning of each guitar segment and minute markers, so you can jump through the video and compare those tones. I'm doing a shootout of these guitars but putting them into the context of a rig. Which is far more relevant than just shooting out cleans. But your feedback is always appreciated man, thanks for watching :)
+PC160 I woulda preferred had he dialed down the pedals some. (or used less blatant fuzzballs, muddied up the mix) But the playing is stunning, love the clean sound on the '79 :D
thanks for that. more of a real world comparison. the '79 was the shiite. much sweeter. the '55 rocked pretty hard. i like the lower powered pickups. i owned an original '55 for a while. my favorite guitar ever.
Absolutely killer playing! That relic strat looks immense but I loved the tone coming from the 55 and 79. Pretty hard to choose really.. They're all awesome!
It has been my experience that, if a guitar has been owned by a horrible player, it starts to sound horrible. Why that is, I don't know but, if someone hands me a guitar as soon as I plug it in I can tell if the owner knows what he is doing or not. Bob
+Bob Sanders the only reason it would sound bad in my mnd is that they didn't even bother to set it up? like not even paying attention to the intonation which can really make it sound like shit
+Megadeth6633 You may be right but I feel a sort of sad emotion come from the guitar. That may make me sound loony tunes but I can pick up two similar guitars and one feels eager to go and the other sort of "depressed". I feel no exchange between that guitar and me. Does anyone understand what I am trying to say? Bob
Bea, that guitar of your dads is amazing. That being said, ,I personally, love the feel of a big neck. Love my Clapton Strat, basically a 1956 V neck, but I played a 1962 Custom Shop reissue that had a really big neck and beefy sounding single coils, gold flake color was crazy awesome. I regret everyday I didn't buy it. I love the sound and look of your dads guitar, but to fall back on the '55 RI, you sir, are a lucky man, it's stunning and I'm sure feels perfect.
All nice but the sound and how much you got into playing was totally evident in the last 2. happy for you with your new soulmate☺look forward to hearing more on it
Your dad's guitar is really nice ! The fisrt one (green) really sounds excellent and the C.S. too. As you said, the American made is more modern and quite different from the 3 others. Thanks !
Wow. Hard to pick a winner. I would say the winner is you! for being able to play and own three of them! I had to sell my Squier Strat that was one of the first Japanese made from 1983 to pay a lawyer. It was a sad day, but now I can choose a new one to replace it!
Nice informative video. A have a few of them myself. My 74 is my favorite. I got it in 1976. I had a 63 strat ripped off at a gig in the 70's. I sold my 59 in 1985 for $750. At the time they were not worth that much. Everyone wanted a new one. My 59 did not play that easy. This is a fun video to watch. The stat is my favorite guitar. Thank you for a great video.
Oddly enough, I enjoyed the 79 Strat the most. They all sounded incredible, but the 79 seemed to have more of a higher end clarity than the others. At least, to my ears. I'd give my right arm to own any of them, however lol. Thanks Bea!!! You were born to play Strats, my man.
Hi Rabea, I liked your dad's the best. I felt the rosewood gave it a nice dark tone. I then liked your 2015 American standard. I'm probably biased since I also have one . Then your 55 relic and Rita. However they all sound great. You can't go wrong with with any of them. Enjoy your 1955 relic. It's great to see your enthusiasm and love for the instrument.
So sick, in a good way. Personally I'm not a huge fan of relics, but that's just me. Unfortunately I wasn't really exposed to any guitar driven music, or music in general, till I was in high school and I'm 25 now which seems weird to say, but I've always been drawn to the sound the guitar makes. I just started taking lessons five or so months ago and I have to say you are definitely one of those player that inspires me. Long story short I want to be just like you when I grow up. Thanks for then content and the general awesomeness. Peace homie ✌🏽
Rabea, I gotta say I love the tone of your Dads strat. Love the Big 70's head stock and the real wear ... Sounds like it's full of rock. #2 would be the tone coming from the Reissue. May just be because you were lovin it so much. Thanks, great shoot out.
Great video! What a coincidence!- tommorrow I get the same Fender Custom Shop 55' limited relic in 2 tone sunburst guitar..! Sold my 95' American Standard Strat (which was awesome..) and my Mesa Dual Rectifier for this guitar...
To me Rita sounded absolutely gorgeous, and judging by a lot of the comments everyone else thinks so too. Seeing as Rita isn't a true Strat makes it 100x more satisfying 😍

+Rabea Massaad man they are all nice. for some reason I liked the sea foam green relic. nice playing as usual rock on \m/
I like the rat the best:) At most we had 13 at the same time but now we are down to zero. Such lovely little guys. Any chance you guys could do a little rat vid? (No need to ask for guitar vids, already watching those:))
+Rabea Massaad ML-1 '55 Fat Neck, make it so, please.
BTW, it would be great if you got a chance to try zexcoils and demo'd them to us.
+Rabea Massaad be a the jam video with rita says it no longer exists. this a problem only I'm having?
+Rabea Massaad Honestly... didn't expect this but... I love your dad's old '79 best! Maybe it's because I'm used to the kinda sound, but I love it
Clearly, you are the winner for having all that!
Honestly, I'd take your dad's 79, It was just clearer and cleaner, and the notes just seemed more pure.
I'm not even listening to the guitars as I am astonished by his playing!

Ahhh, gotta love the Strats.
+PixxyLixxx i was jsut about to send you this video lol
+Robert Baker I was jsut about to turn spell check off but now that I have seen this...
+Dylan DeBord I think you're jsut a troll.
+Bruce Lindsey nah I'm jsut playing around
+Dylan DeBord haha same dude
Rita was the standout to me, but they all sounded killer. Great playing and tone Rabea!
The heart a soul of your Dad's guitar, one day passed down to you, priceless. Hands down the 79 for sure.
Your dad's all day long. I thought it brought out your passion and it sounded awsome.
BEST.STRAT.DEMO.EVER. When I was younger I used to despise Strats, as I have gotten older I have come to appreciate them tonally. Anyone else have this experience? Love the Bea reviews, very thorough, sincere and totally relatable.

Just had my buddy's 73 in for a tune up and boy it's such a special guitar. Wish it were mine. Lucky you got your dad's one:-)
+Rabea Massaad The first electric I ever had was a 1979 Fender Strat. Long gone. I didn't realize at the time, but I bought another one because of you and your dad! . . . and yes it is heavy and sounds massive!!! Thanks
The 79 handled high gain much better than any of the others. Preferred the clean tones on the American standard.
there's a certain sharpness in tone and boldness in clarity that goes with maple fretboards... love it.
Don't wish too hard for your dads. It will be yours one day, but I hope for you, and him that it will be many decades before you get it.
+ThunderHawk606 They sound awful on studio monitors, too.
After watching this video, I knew that I needed to get a Custom Shop Strat. I got a CS '63 Journeyman Relic in Shell Pink, which was only used on '60-'63 Fenders. Thanks Andrew, this clears things up!
+Riverdeepnwide you're welcome. but remember in overdrive everything's different. In overdrive Rita and Black one are less sharp
Those arpeggios were beautiful
Your dad's is my favorite probably all around. I completely understand the guitar holding the energy in it, that's how I feel about my Epiphone Les Paul. It's only been gigging for about 6 years but I always end up going back to it because it's a part of me now.
The last guitar your dad's guitar is awesome
Starting again is hard, but you have given me the encouragement to try harder, and I thank you from the bottom of my heart,
+Ken Randall I have a fused left wrist and still play. I can play as fast as I used to, but still fun. Give it a shot. T
+Thomas Dunleavy can't
I like bea better when he rips blues more than shredding my heads off
Killed it on the 79 man! Usually I prefer a nice clean or moderate crunchy blues, but even the metal-esque stuff on the 79 was giving me goosebumps! Great playin
For the love of God you are better than the Captain and Chappers! Wow!!!!!!!
Hands down, the 79 blows the other two out of the water. Nice playing and a very good job on the video, you're the man! Keep rockin
I just love single coils much more than humbuckers!
scaredypicker much more "personality"..
I always said that the Fenders were the harder of the 2 brands Fender and Gibson to play and I always said:
"Gibsons are the 5 dollar prostitute it is easier to work with makes you appear better than you are. Meanwhile the Gender is the high class woman who requires more work to get a good relationship with and is much harder to sound good with"
real guitar experts choose Fender
I'd argue that that is purely personal taste. Lots of the greats use Gibsons, Fenders but also PRS and others too.
PRS sucks though, absolutely no comparison to either of these two.
zakk wylde, eric clapton, peter green, bob marley, slash, jimmy page ????????????? what crack you smoking man
Smith copied the Les Paul. PRS is ok. Depends upon the guitar.
Oh man! I can listen to playing those strats all day long! You're insanely good! so much feel in every note!
3-4-1-2 dont like putting the American standard last as I have the same one but its true
Great to see that someone has the balls to play strats dirty,..odd that most strats on youtube are always clean. But they also sounds fantastic dirty and played hard. LOVE the video!!
I was gonna go with the Rita... until I heard that CS55 with the fuzz tones!! dammit it sounds perfect!!
I was born in 1979 so you know my favorite! I have a 67' copy that sounds so close to the 79' and I love it!
It's actually unreal how much you ripped on that 1979 strat..
Hahaha thanks man, it's got some serious life in it! A soulful instrument really ;-)
You could hear how much you were getting in to it! That last bit was so awesome I can't even begin to explain ahaha. Makes me want to paint my strat black and relic it ;)
+Elliot Bird I agree! and it had a great sound! as good as the green one!
Very exciting video! In my opinion I'm diggin' the 1955 RI's sound. I love Strats and your style of playing. Thank you very much Rabea.
Andy tate? as in the machester United guy?

Dude you're really talented at guitar. Came here looking to see a black fender strat in action, stayed for your awesome guitar playing!
Thought the 55 reissue sounded the best personally
'79 Strat. I was born in the same year and the all black finish goes really well with that guitar. Plus it was genuinely used and it has all the history of the past 37 years in it.
Bea, what do you think of strat's whammy bars? Do you use blocked tremolo?
Ten years from now when your first Strat is well seasoned you will love it!!
Thanks for a great review....does anyone feel that is is harder to play on Fender necks rather than say Gibson? I feel less dexterity and fluidity.
I actually feel the opposite. Strats are feel so nice while les Paul's are kind of awkward in my hands IMO
That could have to do with the scale length and fretboard radius, fenders are 25.5” from bridge to nut, which makes the strings feel a little tighter for the same string gauge. Gibson’s are 24.75” which makes them feel a little “easier” to play
Then older fender have a 7.25” radius and modern ones have a 9.5” radius, which is rounder than Gibson’s 12” radius, a flatter radius is generally considered less comfortable for chording, and better for bending and lead lines
I want.
They all sound great but I like the '79 Strat that your Dad received the best. Thanks for the demos.
makes me want a strat :I - LPguy...
They're all great..
Mate, you're rapidly becoming one of my favourite players to watch. When you play that funky blues rock (Jimi / SRV) & add your own musical input, I get all inspired & grab one of my guitars. Cheers Bea, good work!
My God Rita screams
CS Relic, 79, Rita Relic, Standard. That '79 sounds amazing. Really dark and smooth, which is a unique characteristic, but I kinda prefer it slightly brighter. Thanks for this!
Are you the guy at the Andertons films?
That is correct :-) thanks for checking out my channel
Love the funky Nuno right hand playing. Killer technique. Great playing Rabea!!
I have to say personally the American Standard sounds the best. ☺
Sounds too clean for me i like a distorted tone the Green Strat copy is the Winner lol
Chrissy Ayres same Rita is a beast
THANKS for this. it's proof, once again, that a great player makes everything sound good. and you are a superb talent. makes me want to grab my strat (roadworn blackie) and get busy.

The neck in Rita is much thinner. More like the standard, but the fretboard is flatter. Probably because it's not a fender. It's bloody hard to play!
I didn't want the 55 reissue to win since they are big money, but (to me) it sounds soooooo good. Awesome vid as always!
Hard to tell subtle tonal differences with pedals in the signal chain. Comparisons in this setup are difficult, to say the least. But thanks!
This video would have been way less entertaining if i had just given you a clean tone and nothing else.
That's way I gave a straight up clean tone at the beginning of each guitar segment and minute markers, so you can jump through the video and compare those tones.

Absolutely killer playing! That relic strat looks immense but I loved the tone coming from the 55 and 79. Pretty hard to choose really.. They're all awesome!
You're a much better guitar player than Rob. He's to predictable
shut up Rob is awesome
@@ravenjames3873 Haha sarcasm love it mate
I love your Strats man. Got two myself (USA Standard and Classic 50s), but I'm addicted to the sound of them and I want more! Ha
It has been my experience that, if a guitar has been owned by a horrible player, it starts to sound horrible. Why that is, I don't know but, if someone hands me a guitar as soon as I plug it in I can tell if the owner knows what he is doing or not.

+Bob Sanders Probably because they don't know how to maintain it well and don't look after it properly

Bob Sanders I don't know, just seems to me a guitar just feels right playing it.....or not. Bea is on a whole nether level tho so who knows.
Here's hoping you never pick one of mine up then! )))
Rabea, you rock bro!
Props to your dad's '79.
Awhole lotta soul, mojo &
Great vibe!
i just signed up for musicisum thanks to all your informative and fun videos here on youtube.
i'm very excited, keep up the great work!
All nice but the sound and how much you got into playing was totally evident in the last 2. happy for you with your new soulmate☺look forward to hearing more on it
3,4,2,1 without a doubt. Your play makes the difference. You can hear how YOU feel as a very expressive player and artist that you are Bea.
The '55 Re sounded the sweetest to me. Specially the neck pickup. Wow! 👍🏼🎶
great video!! the green one and the 79 sound the best imo.
The ultimate takeaway for me is Bea can make any guitar sound amazing!
The custom shop relic looks the best imo but your dads '79 sounds absolutely phenomenal
Have to say the 79 and the green one excited me the most. Real raw rough sounds. Looked easy to play.
RITA SOUNDS GREAT , WATCHING ALL , COMMENTING ON ALL AS THEY GO IN ORDER !!
+Martin Ulstein damn, if you still had your '63 and/or '59 strat they would be worth a crap load of money today and very collectible.
Rita Relic is my personal favorite! Good shot Bea!
The story about the '79 Strat just makes me sick!!!! Cool Strats and great playing! Keep up the great work Bea!!!!!
Man Rabea your just an awesome player wicked licks of every kind just wow, can listen for hours, cheers mate
Thanks for putting the guitar and year on the description big quick help that is all
Oddly enough, I enjoyed the 79 Strat the most. They all sounded incredible, but the 79 seemed to have more of a higher end clarity than the others. At least, to my ears. I'd give my right arm to own any of them, however lol. Thanks Bea!!! You were born to play Strats, my man.
Shaun carter
And then you wouldn't be able to play it.
Absolutely amazing guitarist. Fantastic video too
The clarity on that 55 Custom Shop is something else.
Great collection !
Liked that black of your Dad's the Rita last and the other two just behind that old Blacky, but all were fantastic and thanks for sharing
That 79 is magnificent to my ears bro, great playing as always bea!
Such good instruments just exemplified by an amazing player! Gotta love it!
Great playing Rabea. I love your videos. Beautiful guitars. keep on the good work mate!
Feeling a lot of John Mayer and Jimi in these licks, loving it.
Rabea, I gotta say I love the tone of your Dads strat. Love the Big 70's head stock and the real wear ... Sounds like it's full of rock.
#2 would be the tone coming from the Reissue. May just be because you were lovin it so much. Thanks, great shoot out.
The 1979 and the 1955 reissue were the standout for me. Your amp sounded great too. The kraken seems really versatile!
Very cool and interesting shootout, Rabea!
best strat vid ever. I like the custom shop one the best. YOU ROCK!!!
I love this man, God, I LOVE THIS BEAUTIFUL FRO MAN! He plays what I hear in my head but my hands wont do.
Great comparison, nice job!
I love the raw grittyness of your dads guitar.
This is an awesome review. The other 3 strats are awesome, but Rita has that something that gets you going back to her. I am a little jealous :D
Got to give it to the 79. Great shredding, Rabea, as usual.
