It already looks really cool. I'm usually not into the military stuff in stormworks but I think even at this early stage I'm looking forward to exploring it.
Thank you, I usually try to make the ships very realistic while also thinking a lot about the play aspect of the game! I hope you enjoy it when it’s done, I might even make a SAR version!
Well I kinda wanna make a big orange carrier….aaaand it is the perfect excuse to make a non DLC version of the ship. I won’t really make a big fuss of it but in time I will likely have a search and rescue version!
Not only do large, realistically sized carriers need to be spawned with a modded workbench, but they need to be broken into multiple "vehicles" because of the file size limitations in SW. I tried making the hull of a realistic sized carrier, but I ran into the file size issue very quickly. Huge ships also make my computer want to alt+f4 itself, because the physics calculations are so intensive. It's unplayable when I spawn in even just large ships which fit in the standard workbench. (like 15-30 physics fps = quarter to half speed playing)
These are all things I am hoping to avoid, really the goal is to have a very detailed ship that feels and can be played like a carrier without having to manage a 400m long boat and it’s the annoyances that come with something that size!
This looks pretty good for a scaled-down carrier. The little details like the anchor windlass room help the ship feel more real. Have you been on a carrier before?
@@MysticMalik I have not been on a carrier, but I have spent much time on ships, and have been on many warship. These spaces like the anchor room and outdoor decks I think are very important to help it feel like a real carrier!
I try to think a lot about how the spaces make you feel. This is why there are a lot of deck spaces that are seemingly not that useful, but they give the feeling you are on a big carrier and I think this is really important!
I think an expansion on the carriers elevator would be a big deal, and should be looked at. Im concerned as to the size of helicopters that can make it bellow deck. maybe have a flap that folds out like the front of the carrier does?
The lift is proportionally large to the height of the hangar bay, it is unlikely a helicopter will be be too wide for the lift while not being too tall, the other reason it is this small is because the smaller ship will not be able to support that large of masses hanging off the side of the deck!
Can't wait to use this ship in the game
Thanks friend, I hope you enjoy it when it is done!

@@WhackAL A SAR version would be the perfect flagship for my alternate history coast guard fleet.

Hi ! Your ship looks very nice, good job ! And I think you should add an auxiliary diesel engine, in case of a problem on the main engine !
I will add a backup generator for sure!
It looks so good, can’t wait to try it
Thank you I really appreciate the support I think you will like it when it is done!

I gotta ask where you get your music for these videos? looking good so far.
I get the music right off of RUclips’s library! You can find a ton of music on there that will keep you safe with copyright!
@@WhackAL any names to look for, there's a few that I really like.
