Did you know that the paralysis that overcomes the victim from the venom of the blue-ringed octopus is only to their voluntary muscles; they remain fully conscious. Death usually occurs as a result of lack of oxygen. Thus, if mouth to mouth resuscitation is given to a victim of a blue-ringed octopus, they should fully recover. Good. Glad we got that covered. The message here is: stay away from the blue-ringed octopus. We meet other non-venomous sea creatures today too: turtles, sharks 😅 oh and if anyone out there has ever been diving in the Great Barrier Reef, do share!
Very informed documentary, so glad to see the main cause of reef degradation being mentioned here; land farming/erosion. Every creek I've seen in QLD pours brown water into the sea, all the beaches have horrible visibility, even some of the dive sites nearer to the land are absolutely awful with visibility less than 1m. The combination of loss of light intensity and the blanketing affect of the sediments is causing real problems.

I was about to die from an overdose in my apartment in Miami all alone after so many different drugs…I went to grab my phone and I couldn’t even see what I pressed and out of no where RUclips started and this song played. My heart was beating out of my chest and then the room turned white and I felt at peace. My heart slowed down and I survived. Jesus Christ is real people. He saved my life.
I don't know if this is from the same thing ( I think so) but I'm watching Wildest Places a 3 season 4 ep ea series from 2019 on Prime Video. The Great Barrier Reef is from S2 Ep3. I don't know how I didn't see this before but it's an absolute fabulous breathtaking documentary on much of the underwater Paradise off Aussieland in the South Pacific arena. Watching this it actually makes me cringe in disbelief there was such callous era after WW II of uncaring disrespect and disregard when we went down there with our war machines uprooting and relocating some of those beautiful small native Islander folk while we well we went along detonating hydrogen bombs, supposedly in the name of National security peacekeeping and the fight (or fear) against communism! Sheeeesh. Sorry, probably the wrong forum to bring all that up. But it's just something I think about when I watch stuff like this.
It all comes down to us humans especially those who are in positions to make laws to protect marine lives and or ecosystems across the world ...or everything will become history, while we will suffer the consequences of degradation of marine lives
Fortunately, gillnets will be banned in the Great Barrier Reef by July 2027 to protect endangered species; the federal and Queensland government have announced. Gillnets are used to catch fish, but they can also injure and kill dugongs, turtles, dolphins and protected shark species.
What shall we say of one who marvels at a painting of Rembrandt but spits at the painter? Or what shall we say of those who marvel at the marvels of nature but not at He who created it? Do not be deceived. There is a creator.
If i show you what all methods can be used to threatened to destroy the world in strange ways like detonating nuclear bombs of countries without touching them or going near it what do i get. You are very wise and insightful.
Much love to you from the United States, as a descendant of the Cherokee Indian tribe, intermingled with Norwegian descent.

Muzak is obnoxious. Why do you think we want to hear a high PING from a piano repeatedly?
They're not even gonna show the mantis shrimp in the video even though it was the thumbnail. Gotta dislike.
Too much enviro preaching
