    Why don’t the governments stop trawling? If it was simply not allowed the problem would not become any worse. Surely that’s the only way to preserve these areas?

      GaslitWorld f. Melissa B nah it’s to set the stage for U.N. Agenda 21. You are right they aren’t happy until so much is destroyed but there are agendas at work.
      Us individuals will soon be told we can’t swim in the ocean, or walk our forests, and we will be sectioned in mass urban developments. Governments won’t stop trawling because there’s no perceived NEED to. The Hegelian dialectic at work will at some point call for that perceived need to be disseminated and then it will be too late.

    I wonder if the bacteria that’s taking out Florida’s coral reefs was brought up from the depths of these trips and accidentally released in a place heat allows them to grow and kill regular depth coral.

    • @jeffjackson9679
      @jeffjackson9679 2 года назад +2

      I have reef tank and the temp. swings aren't the usual killers of coral, it's having a low pH and alkalinity. Corals can handle temp swings to an extent, as long as it's not too extreme, but once the pH drops below 7.8, most hard corals will start to bleach and die off.

    I would like to say that even before human intervention, the climate changed all the time! Ice ages, and tropical ages and everything in between have been happening as long as we can see through fossil records. There was even a mini ice age in the 1700's.

      Or you could simply ride a bike everywhere you want to go. Grow your own food. Stop using single use plastics. Volunteer for ocean clean ups. Give up any and all pets including dogs,cats and horses who produce more methane than all the cattle in the world.

      @@JacindaH there are other ways of gathering fish and such from the ocean than these crude and destructive methods. We are humans. We can solve any problem we put our minds to. These methods should be banned. Not the deep sea fishing but the other two, especially trawling. Altho i think the most damage is done by forgotten nets and fishing line just littered about the ocean.

    As usual these documentaries tell everyone exactly where to pillage in the oceans. So, with this free information given to them the unscrupulous, selfish & irresponsible fishermen on the planet go to those locations & destroy the reefs, devastate fish stocks & generally strip the ocean in the locations shared by the documentaries bare. Maybe it's not necessary to tell everyone exactly where pristine areas of the oceans & land, as well.

    14:25 "The shallow water stocks are depleted...fishermen must trawl ever lower to make a living." This gives the wrong message. Is the narrator suggesting in a way that continuing this practice is necessary for fishermen livelihoods? Then, what will happen to those livelihoods when there will be no more fish left to fish?
