Learn how to make a mug from a clay slab with this live step by step hand building tutorial! Download the ClayShare app for hundreds of pottery classes!
You’re clearly knowledgeable and have a huge following, but good grief you can talk! It would be SO much more helpful if you made shorter, more concise videos so that those of us who don’t want to sit in front of a computer all day could learn from you. You take an hour to explain something that should take 15 minutes. And I’ve noticed you rarely answer a viewers question. Not cool.
The live free tutorials like this one are a chance for our community to connect and for me to answer their questions. I have hundreds of shorter videos that are only about making pottery and no chit chat, if you go to ClayShare.com you will see them in collections or you can download the ClayShare app and watch them there.
This is so funny that you should say this. How nice it is that this teacher makes you feel like you are just sitting and having coffee and talking about making a mug! Taking questions and answering them with ease. I appreciate Jessica Putnam -Phillips so much. She shares her knowledge with us and I am so happy she does.
Beautiful Mug! ❤ it!
I admire your work, you are very organized and explanation clearly thank you sharing your video.
I love your mugs Jessica!
I only use Tuckers clay and I live in South Carolina, and my supplier is in Georgia! It’s the best!

@@sandracartica4932 where in tennessee? i'm in tennessee also!
Lovely. Thanks so much.
Do you wrap your finished mug in plastic and if so, how long?
Could you make the handle with the textured clay also?
do you buy the sodium silicate already in solution? if so, what strength?
Who is considered a premium member?
I used the terracotta pot and it stuck to my pot and ruined my mug,
I thought the app had free content?
Yes, the app has all of our free content too!☺️
