  • Come along with me as I make slip from my clay body to use in my work. I share my process for turning dry trimmings into a usable substance. In the second part of this video, I will demonstrate my favorite way to personalize a mug.

    I'm 2 days late! I made a really small trial batch of slip, intending to add 1 drop of sodium silicate but 2 drops went in.
    Maybe I used it too soon, IDK, but though it poured well I had to scoop out the excess. If I had seen this before doing so I might have been more careful. Good work though!

    I have not used this slip to pour with (I haven’t made or used molds yet), so I am unsure how to get the right ratio for a true liquid slip.

      @@lorrinederichelieu9848 “In ceramics, deflocculants are materials that you add to your slips and glazes to make them smoother, flow a little better, and even apply a little better.” Darvan 7 is a brand of deflocculant.
