Check out our other reaction and review videos featuring DC and Marvel Movies and TV shows such as Superman & Lois, Titans, Wandavision, Falcon & Winter Soldier all while introducing my wife to the world of Superheroes and Anime.
Talia Shire (Adrian actress) was original in the script, but Stallone felt Rocky would not fight if she was still here. Talia agreed she should not be in it, Rocky needed to be sad and full of anger about her loss to stand and fight. In a interview about Rocky 6 (Balboa) Talia Shire said fans asked if she was mad she wasn't in it... she said she WAS in it.. "The whole film is about ME" was her official statement - the entire film is about her character and Rocky loneliness. I totally 100% agree. Such a powerful film.
👍👍👍👍
I also understand she went to the premiere.
Not only that, Stallone and shire were such good friends he made sure to credit her in the film so she’d get paid for her likeness being used.
@@THOMMGB She Did
Also Talia's husband had died years earlier so she knew the pain of losing a spouse and having to go on. She felt that story needed to be told.
He went out the way he came in. He went the distance. That was the whole point of saying, 'I have to go out the way I have to go out.' He's still proving "he's not just another bum from the neighborhood."
Thank you for not cutting any of the speech that Rocky gave to his son. It's one of my favorite moments in the franchise.
Yes it's a very powerfull and emotional speech
How all reaction vids should be. Real feels. Not this producer crap that YT spews these days.
Thank you. We really enjoy this movie and enjoyed doing the reaction for you guys.
@@KalElCanFlySly’s 3 daughters have that speeches memorized
The Rocky statue was moved down to street level next to the steps. A friend of mine and her son were there for their birthdays a couple of weeks ago.
They eventually moved the ROCKY statue to the bottom left of the steps. Not sure if its Creed or Creed 2, but that's where it is now.
Fun fact... The statue was brought back out after fans complained. But it is now on another side of the building. Another fun fact… during the BLM riots a couple of years ago, when people were vandalizing and tearing down statues, Rocky was untouched and is still there to this day. 👍
Also the statue is still there now just moved to a different location right nearby.
The kid who played his son in Rocky 5 was actually his son in real life, Sage. He died of heart disease in 2012
the acting in this movie is beautiful. and lil marie...........gosh.
I love this movie so much. Little Marie's speech to Rocky in the van channels Adrian from Rocky 3 on the beach. Rocky's speech to Robert also channels how Adrian spoke to him harshly for the first time on the beach in order to get through to him.
In a deleted scene shows he actually won the match!
Yo Adrian, We Did It! We Did it!
Adrian's grave is still there at Philidelphia in real life just Rocky's statue.
I just love these films so much I've watched them since I was 6 I'm 38 now and they still put a tears in my eyes and goosebumps on my arms
This is one of them movie that brings tears to guys eyes the last samurai and the outsiders is another few
This and Rocky II were the reactions I've been waiting for.
All of the commentators for the final fight are professional commentators. One of them is Max Kellerman, he's the one that Rocky said "How you doin'" to and then Kellerman started fanboying out saying "Rocky Balboa just asked me how I was doing..." That moment was actually pretty genuine for Max Kellerman who grew up watching the Rocky movies. I believe he has said that the Rocky movies are one of the reasons he fell in love with boxing, and he calls Rocky 3 the best boxing movie of all time.
Your kid is the mirror of you. Just remember that ❣️
And yeah, Stallone is in his 70s now. And gonna come rocking with the Expendables 4/5
Marie being from the first movie shows you how far ahead stallone was thinking in telling rocky's story.
The original actress from the first Rocky actually shot scenes for Rocky V where it was revealed that she became a prostitute. You can see her in the background at the fight at the end with Tommy.
Mason may have won the fight but Rocky won the night! He finally let the beast out.
The statue is real and still exists. They moved it but it is still by the fine arts building.
They did film two different endings. This one where Rocky left the ring before the announcement was read and he lost by split decision and different ending where he stayed in the ring and won by split decision. I doubt that they were ever going to use the second ending, but they may have filmed it so that the live audience wouldn't be able to spoil it online.
they really should put that rocky statue in a park somewere, just for the tourists 🤣
Mason Dixon was played by real life boxer Antonio Tarver who around this time was the light heavyweight champion of the world. So, that's why he looks smaller than Rocky as he competed in a smaller weight class in real life.
Great review guys. Really enjoyed watching. I love Rocky. This one is my second favorite in the franchise.
Thank you so much for watching.
Awesome reaction as always. The rocky series is one of cinemas greats
This movie is about life, we must never give up of our dreams.
The scene where Mason Dixon breaks his hand was real! The actor (an actual boxer named Antonio Tarver) genuinely broke his hand punching Stallone on the hip, so Stallone immediately wrote that into the script.
Trust us when we say that we all missed Adrian.
BUT that doesn't change the fact that Rocky Balboa is the 2nd best movie in the franchise. It's because of things like Adrian's death. Its because we get to see Rocky actually managing Adrians in her name.
It's because of that speech / lecture Rocky gives his son about life. That speech was the best writing and acting of Stallones career IMO. All of these factors gave Rocky the best motivation to get in the ring since the original movie.
You've gotta love the fact that Stallone was smart enough to have Rocky lose the fight. It was inevitable given his age and limitations. But Rocky wanted to go out swinging.
You remind me a lot of myself, sir. I show my wife the movies that mean a lot to me, and im always glancing at her to see if scenes affect her the way they do me. they usually dont, but i wasn't looking to marry a clone of myself haha. and she teases me for getting emotional over movies. but i'm a huge empath and i relate to so many characters when they're hurting, etc. Rocky was no different. The series seems to mean a great deal to you. It does to me too.
You would be surprised at how many people complain about how I alway look at my wife. Firstly, she's beautiful so why not. Secondly, I love watching how she reacts to those things. I appreciate your kind words and support.
I loved that whole Rocky series. I grew up being called Rocky as a kid, so extra special... Still as an 59 yr. old adult.
Named my son Max Martin Power. So he's MaxMPower.
Pronounced "maximum power"
Stallone was 60 when this movie came out...
He also says he wrote cause nobody was calling him for movie rolls and he was falling into a depression. He’s not a big fan of Rocky 5 and so he wrote this cause this is how he felt Rocky should end
The scene where he’s in the bar and the lady asks him to buy her a drink was an idea given to him for his Rambo movie and he decided to not use it in that movie but it’d work great in Rocky.
I'm so sorry to hear about your mum bro my thoughts are with you. Respect for making such a Great reaction video it must have been hard for you but you did really well! Thanks so much for reviewing the series can't wait for the creed reviews
Thank you. It was a tough watch just because this version of Rocky is so much like my dad. My dad owned a restaurant and care dfor my mum when she got lung cancer and to this day still does a lot of the same things that Rocky does to remember his wife.
@@KalElCanFly that's really sad but really sweet of your dad though. I lost my dad to lung cancer and my brother was murdered so I understand your pain trust me but u seem like a strong person and you have a wonderful (and very funny) wife to support you so I know you'll be OK. Keep up the good work bro you have the same love of the Rocky series as me and it comes through in the videos. P.s. I also converted my girlfriend to a rocky fan recently lol I made her watch them all twice just to be sure lol
I dont know if Emily loves me enough to watch them twice lol. She really did enjoy them though but i dont think her makup was built for the tears.
I don't think they were giving anything to Dixon to numb up his hand. I think his trainer said that eventually the hand would numb up on its own. I'm pretty sure that it is illegal to give fighters anything but water during the fight.
I've actually seen a fight where a fighter broke their hand and kept going. Micky Ward vs. Arturo Gatti 3. Gatti hit Ward on the hip just like Dixon did in this movie. When he went back to his corner you could hear Gatti tell his corner man "My hand is broke." His trainer asked him "What do you want me to do," as in "Do you want me to stop the fight?" Gatti responded with "I have to keep going," and he would go on to win the fight by judge's decision.
Great reaction guys! The Rocky series is my all time favorite franchise, the whole series has held a special place in my heart since childhood. Rocky Balboa is also my favorite fictional movie character. He's always reminded me a bit like my father with his heart of gold, willing to help anyone out. My dad was also a tough man and a hell of a fighter but as I said he had a kind soul. My father passed 3 months ago and the Rocky movies take me back to my childhood, watching them with him. I loved this movie and I feel it was the perfect farewell to the character. This movie gets me teary eyed every time as well. The first Rocky is my favorite but it followed closely by Rocky Balboa at number 2. Its always hard ranking this series because there is not a bad movie in the bunch, they're all great. I enjoyed your reactions, great video. I wish you two the best, take care.
Thank you, Kenneth. Our condolences on the passing of your father. He sounds like a great man with a great heart and your comment shines with your your admiration of him. The Rocky movies are also one of my all time favorites, they will go down as something special and even Emily is quoting and referencing the movies in life now and gets pop culture jokes surrounding them which is cool to see.
The press was saying that no matter the outcome, it would look bad for both of them. If Dixon won, all he could say was he beat up an old guy. If Dixon lost, he looks like the biggest joke. And of course everyone was assuming Rocky would look terrible and embarrass himself with a stain on his legacy.
And yet, the best possible thing happened. Rocky proved his gladiator spirit and stood toe to toe with the Heavyweight Champion of the World and left on his feet. And Dixon faced the toughest opponent of his life and not only went the distance (something everyone was claiming he's never done and was incapable of doing) but also left on his feet, showing he was deserving to be the Heavyweight Champion of the World. Dixon finally earned the people's respect, not because he beat up Balboa, but because Balboa was able to make him demonstrate that he was capable.
Ghost Town by The Specials would be a good musical accompaniment for the first half of this film, with Rocky living where he started out, but almost everyone he was friends with being dead. :( Or maybe Missing by Everything but the Girl!!!
BEAUTIFUL 👏👏❤️ ! Tanks so much ! Congrats from Brazil 🇧🇷👏👏👏👏
Thank you very much!
Emily realises Adrian is dead in this one.
"Did I say the first 15? I meant you were gonna cry in the first 5!" 🤦♂️
If my memory serves me well, Sylvester Stallone once said that he wrote several drafts of the script where Adrian was alive and Robert (Rocky Jr.) was in the Air Force. Rocky expressed desire to fight again and his family were justifiably perplexed. He didn't find that emotionally interesting or engaging.
He said that if we were going to get back behind Rocky as an underdog, he would have to be be at a place in his life where he felt like "less than zero". In order for that to happen, the most precious part of his life had to be gone. Then Rocky's desire to fight isn't just born out of the desire to prove he still can. That *is* there, but now the desire to fight is also coming from a place of grief, rage, and needing to get rid of the desire to fight so that he can start to heal and move on with a new part of life.
This has honestly become my favorite film in the 'core' Rocky series. The relationship with Marie, Steps, Robert and Punchy are also highlights for me. I love that they did not cheapen Adrian's memory or push her aside. In spite of that, there is enough there to know that Marie cares for Rocky and vice versa. He didn't have to feel as alone in life as we would have otherwise.
It is a great movie and I agree with you. It's a shame we don't get to see Marie and Steps in the Creed movies as well.
@@KalElCanFly That's true. Part of me thought we might have seen Marie and Steps (and Punchy) in the 'Creed' films as well. It is a shame they are not there.
Great job guys. She is a fiesty one. I was crackin up here.
The theory is after 3 rounds your hand will go numb after a break. Which isn’t true. And you won’t be able to throw it as hard as you want. That’s how you do permanent damage. Ask Floyd mayweather JR. Used to have power. Broke his hands so many times he became a full defensive fighter. Couldn’t be touched with a clean punch and counter punched for points. Would go the distance almost every fight after his first 30 fights before horrible broken hands. I think they just add that to spice up the movie.
I have actually broken my hand on someone's head before. I can tell you that i didn't realize it when it happened and the pain didn't kick in until about 30 minutes after the fight. During that time i finished the fight, dragged my little brother (who i was protecting) into our home, and went and apologized to the kid i beat up because my brother had started it. I broke my knuckle and finger hitting the guy with a hook. I can see how adrenaline can see you through a fight and you not even realize its broken.
@@KalElCanFly see the difference is it didn’t “take you 3 rounds” for it to numb up. Adrenaline kicks in right away. I’m also a retired marine. I amateur boxed. I boxed in the marines. I’ve had 3 as they call them boxer breaks in my life. Having seen tons of live fire I get adrenaline. But when your boxing your often just dancing around not throwing punches. Adrenaline can slow down then after the 3 minute round you sit down. Again adrenaline dropping. After 3 rounds your hands not gonna numb up. It’s gonna start hurting like hell.
And to add to that. “Throwing it as hard as you want”. When your throwing hooks and big straights. Your generally putting it all in those punches anyway. So it’s not like he’s gonna magically find some extra power where he can throw his punches even harder. It’s all theatrical stuff not based in reality. If he had said start throwing while you can before the adrenaline wears off. Then it would have made a little more sense. Not wait until your adrenaline drops after 3 rounds. 3 rounds is gonna be 12 minutes. 3 per round a minute per break maybe 2 in an exhibition. So 12-15 minute for 3 rounds. Nerves start to settle. It’s just not practical. Good for movie drama though.
Oh man, this was up and down and I loved every bit of it. If I wasn't blowing snot bubbles crying with you, I was lauging so hard I almost choked. Thank you guys, this was great great great!! ❤❤
Thank you so much. Glad you liked it. This is one of those movies that is so emotional but such a great watch.

@@KalElCanFly can't wait 😊
the more of these reactions of this movie i watch, the more i think about the relationship between little marie and rocky.. and i see something more than just friends or connection to the past.. i see theres a part of rocky that misses a womans love, and he misses loving a woman that is gone.. and tho he cant imagine wanting anyone besides adrian, and probably doesnt even consider moving on from her, he sees her in little marie in a way.. he sees in marie a chance to be with a woman again, but cant really go there you know.. you can feel it from the start really, and little marie feels it too, and is a little defencive about it too, saying she wasnt thinking like that in one of the early scenes.. possibly just out of respect for rocky, but maybe she also has some personal reasons not to get involved too.. clearly shes had some history of a split up from her sons father, and she was just a kid when rocky walked her home in the first movie, so theres quite the age issue stuff too.. but you can tell she thinks more about rocky than just friends as the movie goes on too.. and of course the biggest scene with them, is when she comes to rocky before the fight at the end, and gives a picture of adrien to him and kisses him tenderly but respectfully on the lips.. now, if that doesnt show it all, than i dont what does.. shes respectfully giving him the touch of a lover that rocky longs for, and possibly little marie longs for too, but its done in the most respectful way imaginable to rocky and adrian.. so to me, that is the best thing they could show in this movie.. they arent just keeping it friend zone, and they arent crapping on his marriage and loss of adrian.. i think it was a nice touch of the movie, and makes everything feel better
I've really enjoyed watching both of you watching this series. You seem like a great couple, kinda like rocky and Adrian. Great job!
Thank you. We really appreciate the kind words and support.

@@KalElCanFly do you review similar movies? I'm not much into comic book movies or T.V. if you could let me know if you have other similar movies, because I love watching you two. And seeing you tear up at scenes, let me know I'm not strange for doing the same. You guys ROCK!
This is my favorite one in the franchise.
Donnie Creed needs to go up against Mason Dixon in a Creed film.
Rocky just misses having people to take care of.
As far as the paintings those were done by Sly. He paints in real life
Prime Rocky would've knocked Dixon out in the first round, probably!!!
Yeah. Dixon has NOTHING on Apollo
Rocky 4 is my favorite
I wish y'all would just do Creed 1 and 2 today lol.
We plan to record the Creed reaction tomorrow
thanks for reaction❤❤❤
Good reaction! I hope you guys watch the creed series !
Great Reaction really enjoy it.
Thank you so much 😁
Am i the only that wishes they pause the movie while the comment? I feel like they are missing so much because of the length of their comments. I dunno i pause the movie when i watch it with somebody and even rewind a little.
You may or may not be the only one but it is the way in which we enjoy watching our movies.
Rocky 5 and 6 weren't great but 5 with the Mickey flashback and this with speech to son were hall of fame scenes
I cant wait for creed 1/2 :´D
one thing you said was wrong they wernt injecting numbing in his has they said it will numb up naturally with the adrenalin
If you haven’t already you have to see Creed I & II
We have. The reactions are available on our channel. Thank you for watching
one comment, The peoples champion
Mason Dixon got humble by rocky balboa instead of getting k.o to the ground if rocky was in his prime he would knock mason in round 4 hmm 👀👀
Adonis will whooped him to humbleness and k.o him
Clubber would hurt him badly with deadly jabs and probably talk him down
Apollo would pummeled him with mercy and no nonsense left hook
Tommy Gunn would knock him down with that right hook
Viktor Drago would nearly kill him with Brute punches 👊
Ivan Drago would kill him with punches full force with no mercy and soul 👀👀👀
Mason Dixon at least you got humbled at the end 🤗🤗😊😊🥊🥊👀👀😁😁
He doing one more rocky his last fight
19:29 Plot twist, the Rocky statue is alive!!!!!

ARE YOU REALLY SUPERHEROES????? :O
Creed!!!
With all due respect to the woman on the left, you’re surprised that Rocky Balboa, who is pursuing a license and gets it, is going to wind up fighting in this movie. Excuse me, but what franchise do you think this movie belongs to? This is a Rocky movie. Of course we’re here to see him fight. Of course it’s in the script.
You’re not watching random life events. This is a crafted story, with a story arc and a character arc. A character arc 6 movies in the making.
Much respect to you…. but I’m surprised by your surprise around 22 minutes in.
The fact that Rocky 5's main focus is about his brain damage and him moving away from boxing himself and becoming a trainer and then Rocky Balboa picks up 16 years later AFTER his retirement with a dead wife, depression, and a restaurant might make you think he isnt going to fight. Besides that, these movies, these characters, have never and will never be about the boxing. It is about much deeper things than just two people wailing on eachother.
Please react to Creed and Creed 2.
hey, I enjoyed watching your videos! are you in audea btw?
We are not on audea. Thank you for watching, Jam.
At least Mason Dixon respects Rocky Balboa if he didn't hmm it would be a route that he getting combo left & right not from Rocky balboa aka the Italian stallion champ & Ivan Drago Viktor Drago Damian Anderson Mike Tyson
Mason: I don't get scared
Are you sure about that Mason you are ten minutes from heading straight to the emergency room or to the hospital bed wearing a casket umm uh no you might wanna stay humble and not talk trash then be egotistical by the way
Mason Dixon talks trash to Mike Tyson to Damian Anderson: I'm the champion
Hmm you ain't going make it to the final round and good luck having a boxing match with them because we warned you not to do this then your face will be rearranged and need facial recognition 😬😬😬😳😳😳
