I am truly impressed with your knowledge and experience with va disability ratings. I wished that my lawyer would be as proactive as you all seem to be!
You mentioned that doctors might not tell you that there is a connection to diabetes. So so true! At age 72 I was tested for bone mass density about 6 months ago. Sure enough i was diagnosed with osteoporosis after 51 years of service connedted diabetes. The VA endocrinologist made no mention of any possible connection. And yes there is a very strong connection. I did not know about the connection so started immediate research in the literature because I thought the etiology was at least in part obvious. This is true of BPH as well and I could have claimed a secondary benefit of this 20 years ago. Then there are foot deformities (claw toe et al) that result from vascular impairment and neuropathy, all benefits of diabetes. Indeed diabetes just keeps on giving. So now I am in the process of applying for an increase in compensation based on worsening peripheral neuropathy, BPH, osteoporosis, diabetic cataracts, peripheral artery disease and hearing loss related either to neurpathy or microvasculature impairment. I was not aware of the claw toes and plantar faciitis being diabetic side effects but I found this out after the most recent claim went in. So I will save that for a subsequent claim if my claim comes back at less than 100%.
Im going for a C&P exam tomorrow for increase from 20% for diabetes service connected, really hopingg i get TDIU or 100, need it bad, even made a slide show power point of how its changed my life
100% rated vietnam veteran. Then changed from pre diabetic to Diabetic on insulin shots and pills. Not on my disability rating. How do I get this diabetic condition upgraded to rating.
Thanks for posting this video. Does depression or anxiety "cause" diabetes? I'm diabetic and remember feeling down sometimes and eating chocolate and drinking pop to make myself feel better. Thanks
Would I be able to get my sleep apnea rated as secondary to my diabetes? I also have a 20% rating for diabetes. The VA sleep study confirmed my sleep apnea. Thanks for your time.
I am rated 30% for Anxiety. When I applied for diabetes, hypertension, and CKD my claim was denied. Are diabetes, hypertension, and CKD secondary to Anxiety?
I have type 2 diabetes and now I have heart problems and shoulders arthritis very painful I’m taken pain pills and never received a rating for the 2 condition and arthritis an other condition
