- Today we go head to head with a performance pack equipped mustang vs a base model!
With some shenanigans along the way it was a good way to spend Easter Sunday! Авто/Мото
Rename this video to “Car Wash
Did you guys ever do digs? That's where 3.73s should shine. 3.73s are better for a dig. When roll racing, longer gears (within reason) are usually better. 3.73s aren't always long enough. 3.31s usually end up having the same pull as 3.73s at high speed roll races.
What about 3.55 for roll racing?
Other thing to remember is the performance pack has bigger heavier brake discs (more rotational weight) and also the wheels. So the gears aren't doing much good in this case.
I did the same comparison and we was side by side from a roll. From a dig I smoked him and I'm 331 gear
The with the same horsepower the shorter geared car should win. You also should have done the comparison with both cars in their 1:1 gear and pulled to redline. The 3.73 car will win. if it doesn't then there is probably another factor like mods or one is significantly lighter.
True
I have a 2013 FBO GT and going from the 3.31 to 3.73 was seriously a bud difference. Not to mention I added a 1 piece drive shaft.
STICK WITH 3.31🎯🎯🎯🌟👌🏾‼️
5:43 Oof that downshift
howdy fellers had me lmao
I have a stock 2014 Mustang GT track pack w/ 3.73 gears. I’ve raced several stock Gt’s including 15’ gt’s with 3.31 gears, and have never lost to any of them; note to remind you that we’re both stock. From a dig or top end, I’m like a car and half length or more ahead of them while racing. I guess this guy was simply granny shifting when he raced you.
Wait, even top end you take cars? I have 3.15 2014 and am looking to upgrade the gears. But I’m unsure if 3.55 or 3.73 is the way to go.
the s197 is lighter than the s550 so it is actually a hair faster even with less hp from the factory. every 100 lbs is roughly a tenth in the 1/4 mile and every tenth is roughly a car length
Maybe the s550 gears are different than s197 idk, but I’ve asked most popular muscle car fanatics ( American muscle, Steeda performance, Boss inc., Roush and others all agreed that the 3.73 gears are the way to go, unless you are going force induction.
John Matthew Naw bro, until I lose against one one day, which I doubt it,then maybe I’ll consider it. But until then, I’m really enjoying my 3.73s with no issues taking 3.31s to Gap insurance 😁👍🏽
John Matthew ok I believe you’re correct on how the differences are with the automatics, I’ve heard that before, but I’ve already sent a link in case you didn’t notice earlier on through a text, and the guy on this channel replied and stated that I was absolutely correct, so how just check out the video and maybe you’re understand.
I call bullsh!t on this one.NO WAY does the 3.31 lose to 3.73 unless the driver doesn't know what in the hell he's doing!!
What??? Lmao the 3:31 won. Hold it down longer gears. Dont let them people who don't know shit and think shorter gears are always gonna be faster. Unless your reving to 9000rpm like a honda your shorter gear wont help much. Blaming the driver is always a excuse too. The driver of the 3:73 in this video was not even bad and didn't even missed a single gear. His shorter gear was making him fall back cause he keep having to shift. In a manual if your shift you lose a little time. Unless your power shifting or you got a automatic that can shift fast.
After driving both the performance pack and the regular gt, the 3.31 gears are faster
Yeah I call bullshit too
Ford knows what their doing with the 3.31. Ford’s racing heritage is no joke.
You guys should have switched cars to see if it's the driver too but all in all good video,, Thx
Is red car a stick? Looks like it needs a driver mod
No many places let us get up to 200mph where a tall gear is justified and I’m talking MT82. I’ve drove both 373 and 355 and the 355 is too long in between gears for everyday driving.
6:12 you don’t need brakes to go fast 😂😂😂 goddamn Ricky Bobby right here. Hell ya brother
Ouch.. that downshift sounded like it hurt... better learn how to rev match bul..
Taller gears will have more top end speed (3.31) compared to a lower gear (3.73) now off the line he will get you but top end isn't there. Tire height will also come into play
heavychevy228 yessir people seem to think he can’t drive. Yes the car was new to him but he’s a good driver. My gears are just better for rolls
@@CrowdHunters most definitely it's all about the gear ratio
Another factor could be your friend isn't familiar with manual driving yet and you are more experienced being he just bought it and you've had yours for a longer period
Its crazy i live in florida and i recognized that tunnel bridge right by the movie theatre...
WRONG. that was film in mexico. Get your facts straight 😎
@@the1withnoname496 Actually YOU ARE WRONG! 4:25 you can see the signs clearly say “Gettysburg” and “York” BOTH of which are in Pennsylvania! They are not in Mexico, not even close! So, get YOUR facts straight!
OMG, smh, some people are lacking common sense. 😂
You boys wanna go to Mehico. 😢
3.31 car had a sticker... unfair.
Btw that was in Mexico, right?
Of course 😏
Codes dumb ass
So your honest opinion, what's better 331 or 373?
373's all day
@@ICON-11- fr..hugeee difference when i drove both kinds. Track pack all day
Questions for the blue car? Your car is awesome with the 3.31's I am going form 3.73 to 3.31's. So for this video what your car 100% stock meaning no tune or cold air intake?
Did you ever switch to 331 how did you like em
@@oscarramos867 I absolutely love them it’s way better than the 3.73
@@DieHard50LMAN you have a sc or sumin boss I’m tryna have more info on em
@@DieHard50LMAN do you have a stall and are you standard or auto ?
@@oscarramos867 I have 2014 GT 6 speed . I have replaced every part that allows deflection with spherical rod bearings. "Lower control arms, upper control arm with upper bracket , relocation brackets, soild motor mounts, extreme anti roll bar, 1 piece aluminum driveshaft, moser axles, Detroit locker." other items include MGW shifter, JLT- CAI, 170 degree thermostat, oversized radiator, McLeod RST clutch, brenspeed tune, 20x10 velgan classic five rims and Michelin super pilot sports. 305/35/20.
I like the taller 3.31 (taller right?) I want that top end high end speed
Lower
either you have mods or a better driver.. i say rematch 🤔 just to be sure lol
Evenly moded, the car with 3.73s should gap the 3.31 from a dig and win in a 1/4 mile. Any longer that that the 3.31 will gain.
which walmart were y'all headed to?
The one in Mexico 🤔🤷🏿♂️
Swap cars, could be a bad shifter fault
Emmanuel he’s a better driver than I am IMO but he did just get the car so idk lol
lol your boy in the red mustang doesnt know how to shift
Awesome video brother hate to say this but do you guys know anyone interested in a worked 94 gt
Dom Mustang 94 you selling it?
Gonna have to. I have to many things going on and bills and a roof over my son head more important
How much?
Jon Smith $3,000
@@dommustang9483 guessing its sold now or doesnt need to be sold?
Did I come to see hot cars take a shower? Lol
Do from a dig and the 3.73 should win hands down. Now on a roll the 3.31 would win on the big end. I have a FBO 14 GT with 3.31 and a stock 14 GT with a drag pack and 3.73 can keep up neck and neck. Both have ran a 12.05
Cody Shinkle you ran 12.05 stock?
Track pack you mean right?? That is my dream car.. a manual '13 deep impact... Need those 3.73s.
Hugeee difference than the 3.31s i drove
Yall needa learn how to shift especially the guy in the red or orange mustang only reason why u beat him
Elvis Hernandez 3.31 are a better gear for highway racing especially coyote motors. they help the motor rev out more
355’s all day
You have 355s?
Roll racing is not racing. Digs is a mans race
Michael Rangel when you have a lot of power you’ll just spin. Dig is useless on the streets
Not everyone wants to dig race roll racing is much better to me. Plus I cant dig race my bike I'd probably flip it trying to launch lol
@@F82_ street outlaws do it. Just get some good tires
RED_10R you can definitely dig race your bike. It’s all about clutch throttle control. Rolls are fun if you just randomly find someone on the freeway to mess with but organized races should be done from a dig. Drivers/ riders win races
Dig race if you want to blow your engine
3:73 WOULD WAX YOU FROM A FULL STOP! once you are rolling a car with 100 less HP can stay with you, that's what makes racing dangerous! Be safe aight.
Performance pack faster homeboy dont know how to shift
Tony Wade yeah that’s what I was thinking 😂
@@nickfishback350 me 2 i have a 2019 gt with the pp2 package and 3.73 gears and my friend has the 3.55 for me i always gap him at the beginning if we are racing from a stop sign but if we start from a roll race from about 45mph and up my friend is always in front no matter how fast i shift so i don't know if this video is accurate at all.
@@Coyote.five.0 yea the lower the gears the slower the take off but it'll be faster in the long run.
Yeah maybe 1/4mile. But the street roll racing is different. This video is prove. Excuses after excuses is getting old.
Red car doesnt know how to drive lol
Mexico my ass
Bunch of punks
Soounds like you mad PAL🎯👌🏾‼️
He can’t drive
This was stupid
why don't you go to a track and race...illegal street racing is stupid
camopaint0707 closed course no street racing here 😊
no racing is right. too slow for that
@@camopaint0707 just send the money over for the track day, and maybe a trailer to tow the car the entire distance to the closest track?
Depends on the road conditions, if you race in los angeles between 6am and 9pm you're asking for it lol
I don't believe for 1 second the blue car had no mods...
