    As an American, I find that I love the Russian people through videos like this. We have been so wrong not to embrace cultures beyond our confines.

      You are right mate. Common people live same life everywhere in the world.
      Brainwashing makes us different and builds borders.

    • @Nenad2012
      @Nenad2012 2 года назад +12

      This is true when it comes to respecting and accepting different cultures. But because of the very nature of the USA, all these cultures “came” here to America. Instead of the differences drowning in one, imposed culture of buying and selling, it was necessary to learn from the neighbors, who are just that: from all over the world. That way the USA would be a small world. If only good things were adopted from others, there would be no room for evil. But we know that the bad is easier and faster to adopt the bad than the good. And we are quick to judge others. The media bear a huge responsibility. Instead of serving the general interest, they served the interest of politicians and magnates, bankers ... They are ordinary people everywhere, mostly well-meaning with the need for a peaceful and noble life. Greetings from Serbia.

    • @Nenad2012
      @Nenad2012 2 года назад +3

      I would just add, if the worst had happened. Everyone else, we outside the US have adopted an "American" culture of buying and selling. Unfortunately, the mercantile spirit reigns in most parts of the world, except in small oases. Things are not going well ...

    The same is happening in my country Portugal. The small villages in the interior and mountains are almost abandoned. Young people move to the cities for more opportunities. It's such a shame because these small villages have so much culture and history. The people from these villages are so strong and have so much wisdom to give. We can all learn so much from them..

    What a nice wholesome video Slava! It's such a pity it is so difficult to travel to Russia (especially now)! To develop this region it takes some young men and women that learn good English (like yourselves) and to open the region for American and European tourists to come in small groups and do what we call farm-tourism. People would LOVE the traditional life (for a week or maybe 2 ;-) ) , get some cooking workshops like you did with your family , drink the local produced cherry wine or other alcohol, make walks and get explanations about the old times. I am sure people would absolutely LOVE this. What the normal life is in those villages is a health camp to tourists :-) Chopping fire wood and make an fire at dusk... grill some local meat.. make soup.. real Russian village food... what is there that can be better? You know americans would love to get in contact with their "old enemies" :-) Show them Russians are almost normal humans :-p - irony overload of course -
    Would n't this be an excellent business case?

    You are doing a great job by capturing real life stories of aunt Galya .She lived in such difficult times of Russian history and has so much country life experiences,energy,wisdom these people are real treasures though remain unnoticed,unheard and unsung .We are really fortunate to see such people and through her life have a glimpse of Russia’s past.
    The problem of slow breaking down of countryside life and infrastructure ,I suppose is a general problem all over the world.It is true there has to be a material,spiritual regeneration of countryside and reverse migration from city to country,resource shifting from industry to agriculture ,spread of market and tradings more to small towns and countryside.

    Your Aunt Galya is very nice. Where she lives reminds me of where my great-grandmother lived on a small farm in western Pennsylvania. And there are many old abandoned building across America in rural areas that looked exactly like those in your video. Around the year 1900, about 90 percent of Americans were farmers and ranchers. But as industry and technology grew, only about two percent of Americans are now farmers and ranchers. We never had pelmeni when I was growing up, but a popular dish was "pigs in the blanket," which was ground meat and cooked rice wrapped in cabbage leaves and baked for a while. You have a very nice family! And nice ending and song!

    Very interesting listening to your relation. It’s amazing how she has internet, yet their are villages in UK who don’t have or very little speed. In UK many villages have lost their local post offices, etc so the elderly have to bus to nearby town. How there was little crime in her younger years same where I lived in a city, people wouldn’t touch so could leave doors unlocked. Where I lived is a wealthy area, but today it’s known people will leave their home in am to find individuals sleeping on their doorstep. I know live on the edge of a housing estate where break ins can easily happen if not a house but cars or shops. I have security cameras on my home as others do in the area.

    I would love to live in a village there. I am from the USA in Virginia quite near to the areas you visited recently. I am 58 and married. Never been out of the US. I dream of one day living a quiet life in the country here and love to see how the Russians live in village life there. It looks like a beautiful and simple lifestyle filled with hard work and great rewards. Thank you so much for sharing your stories on here. I am always watching "Kend Heyati" on You Tube. The "e" after the "K" and the "H" is in reverse. They do wonderful videos on cooking and country living. I also watch many of "The Ulengovs" videos along with many others. All including your videos are just wonderful to watch. Many blessings to you and your family! Thanks again and take care. Hope to see you visit the US again someday!

    Thanks for such a heartwarming and uplifting vlog. Aunt Galya's advice to the young couple was excellent. If more couples applied her words to their relationships there would be far fewer discontented people and quite a bit more happy relationships 😊. The drone shots were so beautiful of the countryside. I felt sad for the young men that you interviewed who said that there were not any real prospects for them in the countryside. That seems to be a common problem in many countries. Looking forward to your upcoming programs. Take care and have a pleasant and rewarding weekend. 🤗❤🙏🌎
