    • @dblhellixxx2082
      @dblhellixxx2082  3 года назад

      Make sure your gpu fans are working but its possible. Usually when your gpu overheats it will throttle and either drop the game and kick you back to desktop or restart your computer. Try playing a less intensive game for your gpu and if you are still getting black screen and over heating then you may need to dig deeper than thermal paste.

    • @rokasbriedis5128

      @@dblhellixxx2082 My fans are working fine, but they don't throttle, they just spin while I'm playing, and yes, after like 3-5h session, my game just drops it's basically saying that my GPU failed/overheated and I press OK and bam, black screen

    • @dblhellixxx2082
      @dblhellixxx2082  3 года назад +1

      @@rokasbriedis5128 Throttle means that the gpu has sensors that detects when it gets too hot and it steps it self down from wide open. There are a lot of things to check. First, see if your fan speed increases as the gpu temp goes up. Also, check your ambient temp and case temp...if your case is essentially sealed off either cause of bad design or heat sinks and fans are full of debris then things wont be able to cool well. You can download CPUID Hardware Monitor to diagnose whats going on with your card in real time. If heat sinks/fans are clean and case temp isnt too high then i would look to either thermal paste if its an old card that has seen some use, drivers, pc power settings or power supply. Also, try checking the card software and be sure that the fan curve is set correctly and that over-clocking isnt the culprit. Hit me back, i'm genuinely curious

      Look bro, you're not the only person to have blackscreen issues with AMD cards. many people with AMD cards (including the RX 5000 series especially RX 5700XT) are frustrated by blackscreen problems. the truth is AMD drivers are garbage and you will have all kinds of problems from blackscreens or BSODs or games crashing randomly because the GPU driver just fucking sucks dick.
      For the solution, here is how I fixed the blackscreen issue on my msi RX 580: I did a COMPLETE uninstall of the existing driver using DDU tool (google it)
      1- uninstall the driver using DDU tool.
      2- restart.
      3- download the latest driver for your card.
      4- be careful, on the installation screen of the driver, tick the box "factory reset".
      5- wait for it to finish installing and when it finish it will ask for a restart.
      6- do your prayers lol.
      after the restart it "should" work fine.
      lesson to be learned: always go for nvidia cards, unless you like dealing with all kinds of problems and headaches then go for AMD. no fanboy.
      in the end I traded my msi RX 580 8GB Gaming X with a PNY GTX 1070 OC XLR8 and Im more than pleased. no more AMD bs.
      And if you absolutely have to go AMD, then buy only trusted brands. the best one without any doubts is Sapphire, even if it means you have to pay more their cooling is excellent and totally worth it.
      **Avoid XFX garbage cards at ALL COSTS!**

    • @hircine92h

    • @dblhellixxx2082
      @dblhellixxx2082  3 года назад +1

      you dont always have to. thermal paste degrades over time with temps and usage. i was just checking this card and figured I would make a video. if gpu temps are high with a medium load on it, while case and ambient temps are good/low, then you might want to check paste or fans.

    reason is i've been having these terrible crashes lately when playing anything remotely graphically intensive. 2d games and platformers are fine, but when i play an FPS game (i.e. Generation Zero my PC crashes from within 10 to 15minutes of playing) and i have to restart each time. tried lessening monitors (usually use a dual monitor setup for work and its fine) to game but same result.
