I don't know why some people feel they have to be offensive when they complain. It degrades the point of their complaint. It will just get put into the round file bin. Another awesome show Chris.

Tablecloths have a noise dampening effect. Which is why I like them in a large dining room.

Thanks again Chris. Too many comments to individually address each one. Especially when you say what I am thinking in your answers. I will say this:
    1) As to Naval ships in Norfolk - I did an online search. There's HUNDREDS of pictures of Naval ships. As a naval officer he would KNOW that nothing confidential or classified would be visible to the public.
    2) I do not like calling Carnival the "Walmart" of cruising, but as you noted, they are more budget/family oriented. Last time I checked, a $$$$ steak house would be more likely to have tablecloths, higher quality than a $ steakhouse. Too many want a $$$$$$$$$$ cruise for a $ price. If you opt to save money (because cruising is expensive, no matter the level) there is always a trade-off.
As always, friends, PLEASE be kind to one another.

OMG, we took pictures going into San Diego of Aircraft carriers and other docked ships. Damn, I'm a felon now. 😂😂
Crying babies are the parents responsibility.
A tablecloth does not make or break my dining experience.

Years ago we had a family their 4 children, ages 5 to 10, kept running around the MDR. They would also come up to you and play around where were eating. Enough people complained that they were asked not to come back to the MDR. The quiet was fantastic. IN the 25 cruises we have done this was the only time we had such rude children.
We have cruised on the Mardi Gras and there in more tan enough dining options, to the point we did not get to eat in EVERYONE that was available.

Well, I guess some people haven't heard of Google Earth. Another thing is you can't trespass what you're eyes can see. I work for the Dept of the Navy and it's only while on base you can not take any photos without a camera pass because of some of the things that might be in the background.

You asking me if the baby in the dining room Disturbed my meal and made it unpleasant I would say you asking me this question made my meal unpleasant

I still don't understand why so many people base their cruise experiences centered around food. That's the least of my worries about my cruise. I'm all about te destination and relaxing. Just my opinion 😁

The military doesn't want ship location put online. Has to do with operation security. Should not be a big issue. Normally, just the coming and going of class A ships.

I have sailed on the Mardi Gras and I'm about to go on her again in October, not only do they have pretty much the same food options as any other Carnival, in addition they have Street Eats located on the Lido deck and there are three different options from fries to Mediterranean to dumplings that are free they also have Shaq's big chicken, and you also get one free dinner at Chibang which offers both a Chinese and Mexican menu as well as a free dinner at Cucina Del Capitano. I would say that the buffet offerings were kind of slim pickings compared to other Carnival ships and Cruises have done but all of the other options more than compensate for the smaller Buffet

There apoears to be a regulation that visitors to a navy ship may not take photos w/o permission. The writer confuses people who are passersby with visitors to a ship.

Good morning. 1. The crying baby story is not good, but at least the parents didn't leave the baby in their cabin alone. 2. I support Carnival or any cruise line that does away with tablecloths for environmental reasons. I don't personally need one. I'm a messy eater, and the tablecloth just displays that. lol. 3. Northern lights. I went on a short trip to Iceland in November 2011. One of the budget travel companies advertised a package deal of flight, hotel and tours for a dirt cheap price, so I went on it. Anyway, there were several warnings that travelers to NOT expect to the the Northern Lights or any Aurora Borealis. And they were right. There weren't any when I was there. If Carnival made any promises to see them, then shame on them. But I kind of doubt that they did. It's all about managing expectations.

    1. I mean, I'd love to see The Northern Lights too, but if my understanding is correct; you have a window of a few months out to the year where you 'may' see them, but it's not a promise, right?
    2. We definitely took pics of the gunboats docked at Norfolk when we boarded The Pride a few months ago! It was really cool to see them. Throw me in jail I guess.
Yewhhhh, gotta say I'm not a fan of babies, in general. But I know my folks would take us out of a crowded room when we were babies, if we were being noisy. In this situation, maybe just take the baby with you to the buffet. The food's good there too. But, I sure wouldn't piss'n'moan about a noisy baby online!
    4. If you can't find enough to eat on a CRUISE, how in the world do you find enough to eat at home?
    5. I'm completely indifferent to table cloths.
