Yeah. Nothing ruins the rabbit holes you can dive into around here quite like the ads. Highlight of a comedy special? Ad. About to score a touchdown? Ad. Surprise barrage in a boxing match? Ad. Entrancing audio experience? Ad. Best guitar solo you've ever hear? Ad. I understand they exist so they can make money but come on, damn it...
I played this on a loop through a PA system pointed out my windows during trick or treat time last year, and not one piece of candy was taken out of the bowl on the porch.
This is disturbing at its best. So many ambient soundscapes contain nothing but looped hisses and distorted tones, but this has soul and character and teeth. This will fill my head with the most wonderful images whilst being dangerously creative. Thank you. Please, please provide us with more and a massive CD gate-fold with three discs of the same. And now, at eleven minutes in, my cat hates me.
That's literally what just happened to me x) I've quit the video and I'm never gonna listen to that thing ever again (at least not without checking if no one else is in my house and with a light on)
You're on the ocean floor in a one-man submarine suit looking for evidence of a downed 'object'. Your comm system goes haywire, producing these sounds. How fast can you make it to the submersible? Does it matter?
My brain exploded. The video was an accompaniment to the scary emotional sound design experience but that's okay. Late a days, you often have to question the authenticity of everything. The range of emotion and storytelling with sound is what makes dark media cool. There is love in darkness. It's trying to have a voice in the end through whatever trials it has to go through. That's what makes dark narratives so compelling and I think this compilation exemplified all of the variety of the dark. It takes an editor, producer, director to pull it out of the dark into the other where a different set of music applies. Great work.
My mutant infested Metro just got way scarier. Not only from my plan to use this track, but all the nasties it inspired when I closed my eyes and listened at 4:30 AM.
The soundtracks this man has done are so good, for example, the only thing good in Resident Evil: Welcome to Racoon City it was the ost composed by Korven.
1st, LOSE THE ADS; 2nd, There's nothing new here for people who pay attention to experimental musical instruments (modified hurdy-gurdy, spring to be plucked or banged, tines to be bowed, Ebow, rubber ball on stick for rubbing) but I have to give credit to Korven for doing an excellent job of milking these techniques for maximum effect. People unfamiliar with other instrument inventors might consider checking out the work of Neil Feather or Tom Nunn or Hal Rammel. Check out the 2 collections published by ellipsis arts: "Gravikords, Whirlies, & Pyrophones" & "Orbitones, Spoon Harps, & Bellowphones". Reading as many issues of "Experimental Musical Instruments" as you can lay your hands on would also be illuminating.
LEAVE ME ALONE!!! This is what I sound playing any instrument. Sounds like shit. This is the type of shit my neighbour would buy. Disturbing, will not make a happy song. I want to break it. MY WIFE MAKES SCARIER SOUNDS IN (...)
I really enjoyed that part of composition where the ad just kicked in and destroyed my whole experience
I read this comment and that exact thing happens to me.
“AAAAHHHH JEFF GOLDBLUM!!!”
time stamp?

Why don't you install a freaking ad block already? Crying because of something that can be fixed in 20 seconds.

First minute: It's not that creepy, i can use this to sleep
2:31 : HOLY SH-
That's literally what just happened to me x)

Same 😂
The best most delightful part! Once you get over the shock, that is.
First time? Well enjoy your stay
Am I the only one who thinks this sound beautiful?
Beauty and horror are strange bedfellows
If they ever do a proper adaptation of Blood Meridian, Mark needs to do the soundtrack.
oh shit yes!!! good call...
Apparently, it's out of developmental hell finally.
If i should ever do a horrormovie i would hire Mark. Love his work
Okay when the demon starts laughing at 6:58 it was a bit much for me
That's amazing! He can make that and it's so clearly something evil laughing
I'd love to play this for my neighbors at 3:00AM
6:58 I never thought, that lollipop can be used to create so scary sounds.
I think it’s a bouncy ball on a spit, but yeah definitely looks a lot more playful than it sounds
Theyre quite expensive btw "proper use" is for self resonating large gongs these are called flumi maybe not the right spelling@kpdelaney6460
@@sunwoodtul8233no it’s a friction mallet and they’re not that expensive
Hands down the coolest instrument on the planet
This is a total masterpiece in my opinion! The part at minute three is especially impressive
That thing is incredible. So adaptable to a various kind of images for a movie but also deeply weird and strange
Mark Korven used the Apprehension Engine!
It was extremely effective! Khajiiti Manus is now utterly spooked!
2:32 is just a dead-on recreation of the ticking sound from Slipknot's Scissors.
I'm amazed by the fact that this singular instrument can cast diverse sounds. I want to play with this one!!!
That and a few loop pedals.

Brilliantly beautiful creepiness! Love it🖤

I am so using this in my D&D games.

I gotta get me one of these.
He did well playing my inner demon
I'd love to hear what Akira Yamaoka would do with this
Terrifyingly gorgeous. Thank you
what a fucking genius
Amazing.
pure sound!.natural!!...cant duplicate that on any "AI" soft....
Except that there are electric components to it that you can see in the video?
11:03 “I may not live through the crash, but neither will you”

yo por suerte estoy acostumbrado a escuchar de todo y por eso he podido aguantar hasta el final pero se que esto no lo puede soportar cualquiera

Please explain me … How do the sound gets such a huge reverb and delays ????
piezo pick ups under the sound boards
I wonder what would happen if he played this for whales/dolphins
Ever thrown a flashbang into a room of epileptics? I imagine it like that.
7:00 this shit is scary 😨
Chapter 3 could very well be Stockhausen!!
How do you make the sound keep looping? I assume it's recorded on something.
He uses a loop pedal.
Ghostly sounds from the Triassic era.
Does this fits best, to a story aboute ghosts zombies and witchcraft,,, not Xenomorph:s and cosmic horror at spaceships?
It could work for cosmic horror and space horror
👽👽👽👽👽👽🚀
The last bit reminds me of Jimmy Page's Lucifer Rising.
May be sushin sham will apply this instrument on manjummal boys
Can anyone magify those sentence strips on the left side🔎🤔🔍
tang
Quiero tomar lsd y tocar este instrumento
This sounds a lot like Jimmy Page's 'Lucifer Rising' soundtrack at the beginning.
🔫😦
Lovecraftian metal.

Hey! Do you or anyone else in this comment know where I can find more music like this! I love this!
