We were there about 3 years ago. Tickets to the SkyWalk itself were $23.50 each. Lunch varied depending on what you wanted but I think we spent less than 20 each. You can walk to the edge elsewhere at Granf Canyon West, just not at the DkyWalk area. We went on a tour from Vegas so that covered the entrance to Grand Canyon West. Don't know what that costs separately. I'd agree if you are not coming from Vegas just go to the South Rim. You can get to the North or South rim from Vegas but it takes forever
The skywalk itself is neat. I enjoyed it. I would agree its a scam that they charge you to take photos that are not of decent quality, but to go out and actually be standing on the glass and looking down was worth the cost to experience. Also, the food and service at the restaurant was terrible and basic as could be.
SCAM!!!!! My family and I just did it and OMG, if we hadn't prepaid for tickets we would have gotten out of line. During the week on a Tuesday, the line took 3 HOURS!!! It was insane. We were cranky as hell by the time we finally got onto it and it was a huge letdown. The Guana Point view was so much better and we didn't have to wait forever to see it! Plus we could take our own photos. Huge letdown.

Just go to the Grand Canyon National Park south rim. Its the best handsdown.

Was pretty cool but I wouldn't go again😂 The food... that was the worst chicken tender I have ever had. The fries were not so bad though
