I personally think its beautifully happy and reminiscent, like a fond look back at a lovely memory or a lovely life. It baffled me when everyone started applying a negative undertones to it; I find it to be innocent of all of that.
I feel like this song could work well as the song for a game where in the ending the world gets nuked as it shows you what's left of the world you loved.
I think Space Funeral could make for an interesting animated film or show. You may be thinking “but the whole point is making a commentary on video games” and to that I say that with a little tweaking to the story elements, you could easily make it a commentary about how a lot of animation studios and creators try to go for stale perfection in their art. In the game, Moon’s corruption of the land was because she couldn’t make anything that matched the perfection of the City. So in an animated movie the City would represent the Disney style of art that’s very good but generally isn’t experimental, and the art style of the corrupted land would be reminiscent of the indie animators that popped up in rejection of those philosophies like Ralph Bakshi, Yellow Submarine, and so on.
I would go for a early 2000's Newgrounds flash cartoon look for the "corrupted" part, something like Arfenhouse. Ralph Bakshi and Yellow Submarine still look too "clean" for Space Funeral.

it makes me feel like im in Mexico sometime in the 1920s, walking through a small city as the sun goes down. i wander into a restaurant. it is decorated with beautiful handpainted ceramic tiles, each perfectly intricate and perfectly unique. i order a basket of tortilla chips. suddenly i realize it is not the 1920s, but i am in Mexico. i don't know how i got here. i check my pocket. i only have american currency, and not very much. i leave before they bring me my tortilla chips.
If I had to sum up the vibe of this song, it's like mindlessly wasting all day doing jack squat and then the stab of realization late at night that there was absolutely several important things you had to do that day to make sure the rest of the month isn't a disaster.

This reminds me of a couple of years in my life when my mom just gave up on my homeschooling, and I just ended up sitting in my room, watching the same old VHS collection of the first three seasons of The Simpsons on repeat for a few years. Kind of just laying down right after dinner, only to wake up far past tomorrow's dinner the next night, hungry and tired.. I can't say I like it for that reason. But I do have to commend it for capturing that sort of feeling almost spot on.

This song reminds me of a night I spent drinking with friends a few months ago. It was fantastic. Most of us hadn't seen each other since before Covid, but we all got into the familiar motions of conversation together very easily. It was the first cold night of the season and most of us weren't prepared, but we toughed it out. There were many conversations about what we all had been up to since college. Although it was great at the time, the memory is painted with sadness because most of us don't live in the same state anymore and I don't know when we'll see each other again. I'm glad I had that night with them.

I can kind of agree with +tumble road I don't think his videos are necessarily fantastic, but mediocre. Nothing really strikes me as more creative than anything I could make. There are a few exceptions like the pringle advert, which really made me feel in the presence of a monster first time watching it.

This reminds me of a couple of years in my life when my mom just gave up on my homeschooling, and I just ended up sitting in my room, watching the same old VHS collection of the first three seasons of The Simpsons on repeat for a few years. Kind of just laying down right after dinner, only to wake up far past tomorrow's dinner the next night, hungry and tired..
I can't say I like it for that reason. But I do have to commend it for capturing that sort of feeling almost spot on.

Yeah, I know, but it's just that I saw myself being more successful in life. I was gonna stay in regular school and graduate with great grades, have a lot of friends, and finish the book I'm writing. I played this game a few days ago, and honestly, as soon as I started playing, I almost teared up, the graphics combined with this song are just an overwhelming sensation
This song reminds me of a night I spent drinking with friends a few months ago. It was fantastic. Most of us hadn't seen each other since before Covid, but we all got into the familiar motions of conversation together very easily. It was the first cold night of the season and most of us weren't prepared, but we toughed it out. There were many conversations about what we all had been up to since college. Although it was great at the time, the memory is painted with sadness because most of us don't live in the same state anymore and I don't know when we'll see each other again. I'm glad I had that night with them.
I had just started the game when it decided to hit me with this gut punch. I was stunlocked for a good 3 minutes in the scum village, just listening to this song.

I can kind of agree with +tumble road I don't think his videos are necessarily fantastic, but mediocre. Nothing really strikes me as more creative than anything I could make. There are a few exceptions like the pringle advert, which really made me feel in the presence of a monster first time watching it.

This just reminds me of all the shit I’ve been through in my life, from the forced medication to being treated like a freak by everyone, down to my fucked up imagination acting as a mental scab over the years of abuse I’ve experienced. Feels bad, man, but for some reason I always have hope it’ll get better, that at some point I can just leave home and get a job and my own place. Maybe, some day far off from now, I’ll be living a quiet life and forget all of this bullshit and worry about simpler things, but for now... I’m just in this pit, and this pit has become my home, for the time being.

I realised how this game can relate to reality.
This song reminds me of being taken to parties with my mom and dad, and It would usually be at night, so Id have to sleep in the car, instead of in the house with the party, and this song reminds me of being in the car, and hearing the music be muffled, as it looks very dark outside. almost impossible to see
This song feels like getting lost at some bluegrass concert; you're surrounded by people but feel alone, your not scarred, but a bit worried as you should probably be getting home soon. The sun starts to set and the air becomes colder. In the distance you hear music, but it's not anyone you've heard of. You wander through crowds and crowds of people aimlessly.

I remember hearing this around the start of high school. Now I'm a senior halfway through my last year, and it makes me feel weirdly sad, even if I like this song. So many small eras and things have happened throughout these few years. I feel like this song best encapsulates the haze of being a teenager in these times, and trying to make it through and have the best and "most regular" experiences before entering the adult world.
