    Thanks for the video I just finished making some home made sauerkraut and added about 10% grated carrots to the cabbage. I checked some commercial sauerkraut and the salt content was 7% and I only make it with 2.5% which is much less.

    Hi. I have GERD and have started consuming yogurt and sourdough bread. Unfortunately, I have been experiencing stomach discomfort and suspect the sour taste might be the cause. How can I go around this problem and continue consuming probiotics? Thanks.

      Grassfed butter is superbeneficial when paired with fermented foods. It produces a by-product in the gut called butyrate. Prevents lots of cancers and good for mood and the absorption of vitamins.

    PLEASE be very careful when you start eating fermented food. I have stomach issues and thought fermented food would help. I am so sick now, with histamine intolerance. I have had an extremely bad reaction to these foods. It’s like a severe allergy that I can’t get under control.I can’t sleep and there are very few foods that won’t make me sick now. I caused my immune system to go into overdrive and I cannot stop it. Be very careful.

    With blood pressure one is expected to consume less salt, so does the salt content in fermented foods impact BP? I know you said it helps but can thus be clarified, ie what happens to the salt during the fermentation process?

    • @ozdoits
      @ozdoits 2 года назад +6

      Here's an option: Those who need less salt can use fermented foods as the only salty flavorful seasoning on otherwise no-added-salt meals. I could give examples if you like. Also, this channel has a no salt sauerkraut recipe that you might like to consider. Hope this is useful.

    I ate sauerkraut 2 weeks ago on a thursday, woke up on sunday and could only remember that i had to puke once and all that came out was the sauerkraut, went to the toilet on sunday and what came out of my bumhole and the way it smelled was like death, havnt been myself since and still feel really strange and bad, cant sleep for the last 1,5week. Dont know if the sauerkraut was bad or was histamine intolerance but i am neverrrrrr everrrrrr eating it again. I have never felt so strange , felt like my soul was disconnected from my body . I felt like i was poisoned and was going to die 👎🏼 still here tho

      Thank you for this comment, we do extensive research before we share any information on this channel. Please can you support this claim with links to data/research, so that I could look into it?

      If you refer to studies made on Kimchi, I'd like to share an article with you that does a brilliant research analysis and has plenty of references. In a nutshell: it's not FERMENTATION that increases the risk of cancer, and it's definitely not fermented foods as such. In fact, some fermented foods reduce the risks of certain types of cancer. The problem is the SALT, and the amount of it to be precise. In either case, there is conflicting data to make any strong claims of this sort. Here is the link to the article: www.ift.org/news-and-publications/food-technology-magazine/issues/2017/april/columns/food-medicine-and-health-link-between-gastric-cancer-kimchi-consumption

      Please see my comment above about Kimchi, it refers to other foods as well. If you know of some side effects and can share them here in comments, with the links to information sources, it would be helpful for the community. Thank you!

      @@HappyBellyfish "there have been debates whether kimchi and soybean paste are protective factors or risk factors for gastric cancer. Messina et al[7] suggested that there was an inconsistent relationship between intake of soybean foods and stomach cancer; the risk seemed to increase with intake of fermented soybean foods and decrease with intake of nonfermented soybean foods. Kimchi and soybean pastes have been reported as risk factors for gastric cancer in some epidemiological studies[3,6] and as protective factors against gastric cancer in others[8]."
