    Interesting, and I love Welk's enthusiasm for his genre - plus the interviewer has a charm which is non-existent today - thanks for the upload

    Welk’s band played college dances around South Dakota in the 1930s. My parents were in college at the time and saw him fairly often.

    It’s true about the farm. Once you leave, you never look back. Side note: suicides among farmers are 3 times that of the non-farming public.
