This is maybe a stupid question but, what is the difference between the black and red that you are using?? Also I love your videos….
And the music choice is on point! 😂

Thanks? Not a stupid question… It’s just a pigment choice difference by the manufacturer.

I was going crazy when I was polishing my stainless vaquero because my super fine finishing wheel kept getting contaminated with coarser particles in one way or another. Eventually polished it down to .25 micron grit and it was as close to a mirror as I’ve ever seen.

Yes, I need to be careful with my buffing wheels across from each other for the same reason

Does this technique work on soft felt wheels as well?

I would think it would. But I don't use Felt much.

Good video! Which gunsmithing school did you attend?

Piedmont Community College in Roxboro, NC. We had two great instructors, both had Started the Gunsmithing program at Motgomery Community College in NC, then were invited up to PCC to develop a course for them.

@@Turnbullcustomguns Talked to Montgomery CC about an instructor opening several years ago. They sent paperwork, I decided against it. Not living East of the Mississippi River again.

Right, I was literally given a lifetime supply of Felt wheels and Compound for them by a retired smith. But it's hard to change how you were taught.
