It's just like when they saw Futaba for the first time. But she seemed more scared back then than this time. And can we take a moment to notice Joker was totally chill both times. And yes, Ryuji had a good line too.
I love how the first time this happened in P5, it's this cute funny moment where the cast realizes Makoto is sort of a dork and chuckles about it. AND I REALLY LOVE how this time, they all kinda just stare at her because it's clearly a trauma quirk and they have no idea what to say about it haha.

Having played Royal, stuff like this really strengthens the feeling that this game was just “Remember Royal? We’re gonna do that again, but a bit worse and without the best characters”
Honestly, if there's one thing I don't like about Strikers it's when it tries to do scenes like this. In P5 when in the Sakura house it came off way more natural and Makoto's reaction was to being in a dark house and having Futaba appear the fuck out of nowhere. Here she freaks out because of a tin can and it seems really forced. And it's not the only time it happens... the hot springs, zenkichi's massive over reactions. I like the characters but humour isn't strikers strong suit.
It felt like she had some weird kind of PTSD attack. Seemingly small trigger and called out to someone who wasn't even there. On top of it she was apologizing when as she hadn't done anything visibility wrong.

Persona Q2 also mentioned Makoto's fear of ghosts as well but rather than straight up rehash the same scene they just had Junpei mention the topic to which Makoto just straight up nope's the fuck out of there. It was a really funny scene. It's the same thing that makes me laugh when Sophie does anything just nice character interaction. Ya know?

I felt like this game got some potential stripped by having to adhere to multiple platforms. It felt like a lot of things about the old game: confidants, planning out your activities, and exploring the hub world got eliminated because they couldn’t afford to include that without burning up the switch. Feels like if it was just in playstation it could have been an extension of the previous games. Like imagine if the play through if your previous P5 game carries through. Your confidant ranks, who you romanced, even your personas. However, they had to scrap that all due to hardware limitations
Nah. This is an entirely different developer making a linear game that is mostly on combat. They could of had an option to let you pick love interests from P5 and updated to P5R options but it isn't easy implementing those kinds of checks of another game's save file.
Uhh dude, that would only apply to storage limitations on the chip, which has been a non-issue for over a decade. None of the things you mentioned would have taken much ram or vram, which is where the switch struggles. Hell there are much much larger games like the xenoblade games on switch. The reason it didn't have all the same mechanics is because strikers is a musou, which is a completely different genre with different appeals, and it's very common for musou games to be either spin offs or continuations of series from other genres. Hell, one of the most famous musou games, fate extella, is a nearly 1 to 1 comparison, with it being a sequel to the rpg fate extra, which also had far more in depth mechanics around relationships than it's musou sequel

Makoto is canon. Atlus never really hid the fact that the High Priestess girls were the canon choices in P3, P4, and P5.
