Looks like another quality Toyota offering...but for the base truck as you are driving...$42k is out of line imo. Prices are just out of hand these days. The whole industry needs a serious check to reduce prices that the average person can afford.
That’s not the base truck. The base is the SR. These are the times we’re living and you’re never going to get a cheap truck new again. Just face the facts. It is what it is.
Price ruined it for me along with the unproven 4banger turbo (I believe it will prove to be a solid power plant but I chose to go a different route). Picked up a 24' Frontier SV king cab for about 8 grand less with working rear doors and jump seats if needed in a pinch. Zero regrets so far.
This is the best Tacoma for me and I think it looks awesome! It’s going to be a great work truck and an occasional errand runner. I’m relieved that Toyota continues to make an XtraCab.
No need to cut...9 screws and the spoiler is gone. lol What pisses me off is that Toyota only offers the Xtracab in a stripper. A few years ago you could buy an Access Cab in TRD Off Road trim.
Feels like they cheapened the Tacoma every way they could and drove prices higher. I pass and get a new Ranger. What do I mean? They get rid of back seats amd the small door. The cheap interior top of windows panels they kept saying will be upgraded for production. The rear sliding window that is option. Soft drop bed door optional. I pass.
The Xtra cab with 6’ bed looks great but they are practically nonexistent. For instance, the TRD PreRunner has only built FIVE units so far! I placed an order last month for one with the largest dealer in the United States based in Southern California, and they said they have no idea when they will ever arrive so I gave up and cancelled it.
They take the suicide door out and they try to tell you that there doing you a favor my 2017 is twice the truck that is and mines 4 wheel drive and cost 28000 dollars they give you a bunch of cheap electronics crap that no one will ever use take away all the storage boxes and tell you what a great deal your getting and by the way they have taken forever to release them and there has already gotten a major recall hardly any of them with the sliding rear window and it's tiny
Removing the suicide doors was a hugh mistake i have a third gen extra cab and being able to open those two back doors makes the need of a tool box unnecessary plus i wouldn't want to go for a long ride on those jump seats but children under 10 years makes it perfect seat belts plus a special place where the plastic piece comes off and there is a mount for a baby's car seat to me the 4 door is useless no one would want to be stuck bavk there give me the 6 foot bed otherwise its just a toy.
I do like a new Tacoma, but They don’t offer it in the extended cab with a manual transmission that’s the downfall of the new tacoma in extended cab line but they do offer it in the off-road in the sport four-door but don’t like them because they don’t have a 6 foot bed with a manual transmission
No rear suicide doors is a deal breaker for me. Heavy tool boxes, rifle/shotgun will be a pain to put back there now. And all the hard plastic it will make a lot of noise when hitting bumps.
Two months have ticked by, and Toyota still isn't getting these out. I've seen one SR5 on line. (and about 8 SR Xtracabs) At this point, I think I'll wait for 2025 and see if they bring back a decent 4WD xtracab. If that fails, I'm jumping to the Nissan Frontier.

I agree a 100%with you notice they don't mention the 10000 $ dealer mark up.

Its a nice looking truck but when i heard about them discontinuing the access cab with the v6 i ran out and got a 3rd gen
Finally George is back!
glad toyota is still offering xtracab unlike the other companies
That would be even better with jump seats like the old Ford Ranger. I would definitely buy one!

I'm hoping they bring back the trd off-road manual xtra cab in the next year or so. There is no rush to buy since dealers are marking up prices
I agree - I would really love to see the TRD Off Road package available with the rear locker and a rear stabilizer bar.
The smooth plastic is because it’s a preproduction example.
Nice truck! No jump seat though? 🎉

The truck in the video is pre production so there is still hope. lol

No more seat back😢
It’s a shame
could they have just thrown in jumpseats like in the chevy s-10 or older ford ranger?
They opted not to, instead it is for storage. However the space is very similar to the old rangers, so yes they could have.
Should I go with this or the ridgeline ?
When is Toyota going to offer a small, affordable pick up again with 25+ gas mileage? Still liking my Ford Maverick.

Toyota unfortunately don’t care about work horse trucks anymore. These are just instagram mall crawlers now.
Damn… how tall is Steve?? He was able to lay down FULLY 😳
It’s a miracle
Ill bet they bring the rear clamshell doors back
Highly doubt it. Toyota said they didn't want to spend the money to develop the suicide doors.
KEEP IT!
They claim it's to protect our wallet, but it feels like the middle finger.
Where’s George? Are they all George?? 😂
We’re all George
👍
Bro!! Where you been?!
We are coming back!
@@DriversOnlylet’s goooooo!!! I’m ready for it!
Wheelbases are too long in the double-cabs.
Can you get it in v-6 and what’s towing capacity?
No V-6, but it is 6,500lb towing capacity.
It strains when towing over 5500 lbs according to videos
@@paulhunter9613the v6 strained at 4500 lol
Been a while 😂
Fuckin' Steve! 😂😎
Don’t think it’s 4 wheel drive
It is. You can clearly see the selector to the left of the gear shifter. The Prerunner is 2wd only, but the SR5 can be bought two or four wheel drive.
Tacoma prices are bullshit!
😂 love 2nd Amendment items 🇺🇸
What a cheap looking interior, @nd for the money it’s best to look for something better, it won’t take much😖🤣
what the heck is that bottom air scoop crap doing there?? if it's a 4x4 that should not be there!
Steve, josh, George? Wtf? These arent the josh, steve and georges that im used to. They look a bit different....way different.
