It's hard to think of a more deserving World Champion. What he did yesterday left us all speechless I think, and I, for one, was in tears when he crossed the finish line. Many had doubts, even he had doubts, but the way he was able to push that aside and just go for it is admirable. A true role model. Soooo deserved. Enjoy this now, Tadej! Čestitke 🌈🏆❤️

Not only the best cyclist in the world, but also the best sportsman in the world. I can't think of any sportsman that's more dominant than him right now. If he doesn't receive the Laureus Award, that would be a disgrace

I’m 30 and Tadej is my hero. Love how he attacks each race. Love how he respects everyone. Hero material! My guy needs to write a children’s book for my newborn!
You couldn’t have picked a better hero! Even the guys in the peloton that he regularly destroys, have tremendous respect and affection for him. I’m 65 and he’s my hero, too!
Tadej thinking this is a stupid attack but has the guts, fortitude, and courage to risk it all in spectacular and glorious fashion. There may never be a more powerful display of dominance at this level in our lifetime. Same as with Mads Pedersons world champ victory in the pouring rain.
Torço para que seja um dos maiores de todos os tempos. Se fosse ele , esse ano teria ido a volta Espanha. Pilota de um jeito que as corridas ficam bem mais emocionantes. Go Pogi
Pogi, it wasn't a stupid move... YOUR LEGS told you to attack. Even if MVDP or Remco had been in the right position Pogi was unbeatable today. NO-ONE could match his power on the climbs and he would have attacked those guys and ridden away from them. He basically rode a 100km time trail in the middle of the most prestigious 1-day race in the world. Only 1 beast can do that. Pogi had a date with destiny - and no-one was going to deny him. Chapeau - you are 'il nuovo cannibale'.
It was a perfect strategy, because he’s the strongest rider. Runners use this strategy as well: You create a gap with an explosive effort, in which nobody can close, while you maintain the same speed that the chasers are doing. After all, it’s not necessarily the fastest athlete that wins the race; it’s the one who slows down the least.
He is quite fluetnt in English..but his his interview in his own langage was much more emotional. Its hard to express in foreign languag..especiially after so long and exausted race
@@RoslynMcLean what do you guys like about no communication? How does it make the race better? Don’t say basics… because pro racing has comms, that is basic for pros.
Radios definitely necessary for safety. If they had radios I think the team would have noticed that that 18 year old Swiss rider wasn't responding anymore. Maybe they would have found her faster instead of leaving her lying in a ditch for an hour because no one knew she was missing. RIP Muriel Furrer.
@J-cz7yv pretty sure it was said that just because teams don't have comms in-ear they do have people along the course that provide useful information.
When I first saw him i always thought he was just an arrogant guy. he's not a decent guy and one hell of a cyclist. Great to see him in the Rainbow jersey
It is interesting how emotional he seems after this win... despite the fact that the UCi world championships are not really that big a deal in actual pro cycling. When you look at the race... 1 day... 275k... not that much climbing... it's really nothing compared to the Tour de France ... it is literally just equivalent to ONE stage of the The Tour... ONE day out of 21 grueling days. So... it's not surprising that winning the "rainbow jersey" just is not as big of an accomplishment as winning one of the three grand tours each year. Milan/San Remo is actually a LONGER race than Zurch was... and the Tour of Flanders is about the same distance--and Paris/Roubaix is just a little shorter--but with the dangerous and grueling cobbled sections--and is considered the toughest Monument race--and certainly harder than the World Championships.... Many of "the greatest" road cyclists in history never won the world championship... because it just wasn't that big a deal historically. So... why Tadej seems so emotional about this particular win is kind of perplexing. Maybe it has nothing to do with the race itself but something to do with his personal life. Or maybe he just didn't eat or drink enough during the race. :)
That was a long-winded way of saying you understand nothing of the sport. "The world championships aren't really that big a deal in pro cycling" might be one of the worst takes I've ever read. Having the honor of wearing the rainbow jersey for an entire season, forever having that on your resume and all the increased sponsorships/endorsements that come with it are hugely significant and one of the greatest milestones a cyclist can acheive. The world champion of any sport is a huge deal and a dream come true.
