I’m in Michigan, and I so wish I lived near you! I did get lucky, however, in finding a small venture within 20 miles with fresh eggs, chicken, pork products, and duck eggs. No beef, though, so still looking. Watching you both reminds me of my late husband and I…similar humor. Thanks for all you do for small farmers and your customers.
One of my three farmers uses insulated bags very similar to DoorDash. They’re great for smaller orders and probably cheaper. They don’t last forever, however.
Next step would be to barcode the tags and then scan them when you pack the order and scan them when you deliver. I'm sure there's an app for that. It is possible to write or read the wrong number, transpose digits, mix up with a previous number, etc. Thanks for sharing!
Here's some advice, order more of those bags. The zippers come apart pretty easy and you should also tell your customers that although these are insulated bags, they should have a cooler in their car, especially in summer. They are insulated, but they aren't insulated enough if you want your goods to stay frozen solid. But it looks like a good system, one that is easy for anyone to understand if you need for someone else to hand out those bags. Good luck and God bless.
I really like that system I didn't do any deliveries Maybe down the road but I think even if someone had pre-orders even veggies or meet add eggs it would be a good way to keep everything separate for when they come to pick it up. I think it's a great way to organize.
Be careful with zippers on those bags. I have those same bags and one zipper has failed completely, and on the remaining 3 bags, the tabs on the zippers are very weak.
WHAT DO YOU DO ABOUT YOUR FRESH EGGS WHAT LICENSES AND CERTIFICATES, HEALTH DEPT., STATE AGRICULTURE AND DOT ? WHO EVER THEY CHANGED LAWS IN MISSISSIPPI
@@SheratonParkFarms IF WE SELL EGGS 6 DOZEN OR LESS WITHOUT GETTING INSPECTION AND CERTIFICATES RIGHT - NOW WE HAVE OUR CHICKENS CHECKED FOR DISEASES ONCE A YEAR BUT TO SELL MORE THAN 6 DOZEN EGGS WE HAVE TO CHANGE EVERYTHING IT IS GETTING TO BE A PAIN IN THE POTATO!
How are you going to sanitize the bags when you get them back You may not want to exchange bags Those bags can get dirty and diseased Just saying🤷🏼♂️🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸☦️
That's a simple but very effective system. I'm looking at getting into some farmers markets selling gourmet mushrooms. Tagging those bags, to tell me there are blue oysters in #1, lionsmane in #2, etc. Instead of cramming coolers, lol. Thanks ya'll.

Sounds like a simple and great solution! My only (slight) concern is for the reliance on your phone to match the customer to their order. You might want a hard copy print out in this day of "rolling blackouts" and unreliable cellphone service.
Hey guys I was watching and like the new idea. Was also thinking maybe y’all could look into a public vendor that sales the insulated bags in different sizes and different kinds so you could also take out the bag exchange. Great new process
Experience is the best teacher. Reflections, creativity, and problem solving brings you a solution you can work with and adjust as you go. Awesome, Saundra!
Chuck you are fortunate to have Saundra doing all that thinking on your behalf! 😎 Great system. Tim in northern TN
Yes I am!
That should work great. I hope those zippers hold up. That might be the only weak link of your system. Thanks for sharing.
Super useful. This will be my first season running a subscription poultry farm in western Nevada. I will use this kind of delivery model.

Thanks so much. Appreciate y’all watching.
I'm a little Australian looking for her first farm and this video (all your videos) are full of invaluable advice! Thank you so much for sharing this!
Customers can also add purchases from other booths to the bag if it is not full already. It is much easier to keep track of one bag.

Good point. Thanks
Love it! I was curious about how yall handled deliveries
Simple, smart, and stable. Good going, chuck's lucky to have a boss that's always thinking.
You got that right!

Y’all are just awesome
thx

Have you ever used Improvac on your boars?
Just make sure your phone doesn’t get low on charge!
Great idea. Was curious after doing this for a while, what breed or crossbreed of pigs do you think make the best sought after meat from customers?
Our customers really like the Berkshire/Duroc cross
Just a follow up question but is there a difference between if the sow is a Duroc or Berkshire? Or would that matter?@@SheratonParkFarms
@@dudewheresmyhorse625 doesn’t matter.

Our red meat is USDA inspected. Is NC Ag receipt for on farm processing. We are under the limit for eggs.

Hey hey
Hey!
Can we bring in our own freezer bag for you to take home for our next order?
Sure. We could do that.
Why don't you put the tag on the bag that the meat is in
I sell gen and thinking about selling egg
I would be the one that felt terrible about being your customer and not paying you for five pounds of ground beef!

A gold star for creativity. Way to go.
Thanks Dwight!
I get my ground beef, 75/25. What percentage do you use? 🤔
The highest fat content I can get here at the market is 80/20. I've learned to live with it :)

Every animal is a little different. Usually around 90/10

Is that a maple syrup pot on the table next to walk-infreezer?
That’s a pot we use to seal chicken in shrink bags.

Genius. Great system.
Then you could put more than one order in each bag
