This Honda ATC200X is ONE OF A KIND!

  • This is a review of my personalized 1984 Honda ATC200X. I blew the original engine up after installing a 12:1 compression wiseco piston and camshaft in it. Even though it ended up breaking the connecting rod, it ran hard with 110 octane racing fuel for a few years before it let go. After that, I couldn't find another 200X engine at the time, so I ended up putting a motor from a Honda ATC200M in the frame. There were a few obstacles to over come, but I eventually got it running, riding, and stopping 100 percent. I have tore this bike completely down and repainted and powder coated everything, giving it a look that sets it apart from any other 200X. It is a great cruiser, with a cooler to hold your favorite beverage for those relaxing stops.

I hardly get to ride mine anymore (life gets busy) but I can't bring myself to get rid of them. I'll be doing a similar video over my 250r this weekend hopefully. Subscribe if you haven't yet if you'd like to see that. Thanks!

Me and the ex wife grew up on honda 90 s that were modified until the 200x came out
The stock motor was was underpowered
I modified both mine and hers with new hi comp piston new cams valve spring carb s and pipes they were great riding but at glamis came up a little short
I wished i would have put a stroker crank in them
They were to much fun never had any problems with them
I wish i still had them

Sorry to tell you. That engine swap is not one of a kind it was the most common swap of all time ive done it myself. The 185s and 200s engine was a direct bolt in. not the 200m it was electric start. There are probably just as many 200x with swapped automatic engines then normal ones. And your front engine mount should of bolted right up.

Thanks for sharing.. I dont think my 200x is special for having the engine swapped. I just thought people would think it was neat and made a video on it.

Thanks for sharing! These things are fkn legendary 😂 had the pleasure of riding my father in law's atc200 a few months back such a blast 🤙
Also i know "why" they made these thumb throttlers, but the twist throttle is soo much nicer on em lol

I've rode with both throttle set-ups. I just prefer the thumb throttle.

@gwilliesgarage really i just remember some serious thumb fatigue which would obviously go away with consistent riding, more importantly, when you inevitably rock over on two wheels your much less likely to whiskey throttle and ride the thing up the back of the leg you put down 😅

@@pthrelkeld090 I've rode some with stiff thumb throttles. I try to keep my cable lubricated and it seems to help. I know exactly what you are talking about with the rear tire sucking your leg in. Haha!

    My friend had a bike I think it was a 250 x?
It was a red white and blue bike all I know is it was 1986 or 85 and it was the fastest three wheeler we've seen at that time 85 mph on the highway
    Unreal
