I totally agree with you. I don’t like my Scalp showing either. I like it better about two months of the new growth. My hair does not seem to marry very much at the roots and I can keep it maintained.
Wow, I think your hair is beautiful even though it hasn't been retightened in 7 months. You just simply proved that your hair can still be gorgeous without retightening so frequently and you probably experience less tension as well. I've only made it through the very first portion of the video where you show your new growth but I had to compliment you.
It’s incredible the amount of time you have to sit and do your hair yet so satisfying watching I love your hair it’s so beautiful mine is only 3months old hoping to have mature healthy locs growing like yours ❤
Thank you 😊🖤. It does take a while but I know it's part of the lifestyle I chose to live 🤷🏾♀️. 3months woohoo🥳. It will mature and thrive to suit you. It will be beautiful and morph into its own. Wishing you a fulfilling loc journey.
As a professional in hair care, I often encounter clients who delay their locs maintenance beyond the recommended period. While I understand everyone has their unique approach to hair care, regular retightening, ideally when new growth reaches about a quarter of an inch from the scalp, is crucial for maintaining healthy locs. Going too long without a retighten can lead to increased stress on the hair during subsequent appointments. As someone who experiences the physical strain of this process first-hand, I want to emphasize the importance of regular maintenance for the health of your locs and to make the process more manageable for both you and your Loctician.
I think it depends on the person. I do reties every 3 months. I dont feel 6 to 8 weeks there is enough new growth for ME. I also feel every 6 weeks is too soon for the scalp manipulation. Just my opinion.
@@rayray7906 I agree with you. When I was doing reties every 6 weeks, my locs began to thin. One almost fell out. I panicked and made the decision to go every 2 months but when that time came I felt like I would benefit by pushing it even further. I was enjoying how my micro locs began to naturally thicken up including my new growth and it just felt so right. I decided to wait another month and did my maintenance at 3 1/2 months. It was AMAZING!! Now that's how long I wait in between reties
Hello, Welcome and thank you for your support. It is understandable, the nervousness but also excitement of maintaining your own Microlocs. Patience is key, I have learned the hard way at times😅i.e. interlocking the wrong locs or locs together. You got this and good luck on your microlocs journey. Enjoy the whole process.🖤😊
I just did my first retie after 2yrs and it was an awesome experience. Didn’t even use a mirror in the back; I just put my fingers to use and was able to feel smoothly through it. So, don’t be nervous. Take 18:18 your time and enjoy this new way of loving yourself and your hair. I can’t wait until it’s time to do it again. I took my time and did it over a week. Next time I’ll probably do it over the weekend but, who knows❤❤❤
Now I don't feel so bad for having that much new growth. Just a busy special education teacher with messy hair. I'm losing locs too. They are definitely compromised and joining. Mine are a hot mess.😢 Yours actually look good.
Everyone can’t go as long as she did her hair is very thick & she has a lot of it the longest I have gone without a problem is 3 months I don’t think I can go past that I also don’t like my scalp showing
Thank you🖤😊. I eventually did braid it, and I interlock it more frequently. It is currently behaving😅 I'm glad. I do a 2-point rotation. Thank you for watching
Hi Tiffany, Welcome 😊🖤. No, I started with a 4 point rotation for a few months, then to 3-point, and now 2-point and will probably stay there. 2-point rotation was easier for me to remember while retightening😅.
@adolphussandra414 I have 2 mirrors, one in front of me and one behind me . I try my best using them. I do use hair clips to keep hairs out of the way in order to focus on a loc at a time. Examples 9:35 and 10:45 hope this was helpful. Thank you for watching 😊🖤
Oh, I do not remember, I think 300+. I do have a video where I counted but have forgotten how many. You can search Loc Count on my Channel. Hope this helps. Thank you for watching 🖤😊
I prefer to retighten my Microlocs with a tool vs. retwisting. Retwisting does not work for me 😩😅. I have other videos that have slow motion of the retightening. Thank you for watching😊🖤

Your locs are beautiful. What method do you use.? For example two point method etc.
@mintiejo2686 Thank you😊. I use 2-point rotation 🖤. Goodluck on your journey and thank you for watching

I just started microlocs journey and my Locs will be one month so when can I start to tighten my locs

You did an excellent job on your hair!
Thank you 😊🖤
I love how your hair looks. It looks very healthy.
😊Thank you🖤. That is my goal : Healthy😊
Absolutely love your hair. I’m starting to maintain my microlocs later this month. I’m nervous and excited about it. You have a new subscriber here!!

Beautiful!
Thank you!😊🖤
How often do you retie your locs? Do you usually wait seven months? They look so healthy and beautiful.
Thank you🖤😊. 7 months is the longest I have gone between retightening. I aim for 2-4 months😅
I don't like showing my scalp either.
Nice work with the locs. They are looking nice.
🖤😊
Now I don't feel so bad for having that much new growth. Just a busy special education teacher with messy hair. I'm losing locs too. They are definitely compromised and joining. Mine are a hot mess.😢 Yours actually look good.
The busy life😩. The merging and possible compromise is not ideal. Do you self retighten or go to a loctican?🖤😊
I wish I could last longer between re-ties, but my hair tends to marry too much. 6 weeks is usually pushing it.
But your hair looks beautiful!!
I agree , it is pushing it. I think my happy medium is 3 months.🖤😊
Mine too. I get reties 4 times a year.
Beautiful locs❤
Thank you 😊🖤
Beautiful locs. Yeah I dont like the "scalpy" look... I prefer how my locs look when it's time for a retie so I'm on a 10wk schedule right now
Right!😊. That is probably what my schedule should be 😅 to avoid long retie sessions. Thank you for watching 🖤
@@LocMaiden 🤣
Same 😂 😩🥰
Beautiful locs 😊
🖤
7 months! I couldn't that long I retie every 3 months... 12 weeks
Thank you for the loc tour 😊

Great point. Our hair profiles plays a part. Thank you and thank you for watching😊🖤
Nice video! If the baby loc in the front keeps coming out then braid it and let it lock! Btw do you do the 3pt or 4pt rotation?
Thank you🖤😊. I eventually did braid it, and I interlock it more frequently. It is currently behaving😅 I'm glad. I do a 2-point rotation. Thank you for watching
Beautiful locs! What shampoo / conditioner do you use?
