If something like Mogador, whose design disgusts me, can exist as a destroyer, there's absolutely no reason Anson can't be a battleship. Nagato and Warspite are there, they're both adorable, why can't Anson? That's just BS.

I'm in total agreement with you. I hope that she will return as HMS Sunfish, but it seems likely that Manjuu will just try to memory-hole this entire thing.
I'm one of the believer that she was supposed to be the Sunfish as there are a lot of hint pointing in that direction. If anything, I hope/believe that Manjuu will explain that they messed up somewhere and use the design as she is supposed to be (if i'm correct on my assumption).
It's easy to salvage the situation. Just make her a HMS Sunfish with unique and useful skill, then give her away for free in a mini event that also come with a small amount of apologems. 100% reversal.

Most devs just double down on failure and produce garbage content (Activision, Blizzard, EA, Ubisoft, etc). Anson's design was not meant for a battleship. It shouldn't have happened. Her design should have been for a submarine, not a BB.
The devs haven't made good changes or additions in ages. For everything they do right there's like 5 or 10 other things that are made worse. Every new ship they add is just a lazy, big-boob lady with no personality. Back in the day ships had an actual personality. Now it's just horny hookers where if you buy the skin for $10, you *might* get some personality out of her. But it won't matter as it'll just be 4-5 lines of text and she'll never get another skin again, as the devs think quantity > quality. Every new update is a disappointment.

Her actual name was supposed to be HMS Beatty.(Yes, THAT Admiral Beatty from the Battle of Jutland) Luckily someone in the British Ship naming department took one look at that name and thought that it definitely wouldn't be a good idea to name a ship after a terrible warship commander.

There is hope she will return. Me and a few others on the subreddit and official discord managed to get the attention of the discord yostar staff. Despite the initial backlash. There was an even bigger movement on EN following to keep her art for a future implimentation. Mainly driven by all the sad art coming from JP. With JP artists making sad depictions of her too might indicate JP swung round to wanting her kept as well. The yostar discord staff are well aware we want her kept. So we have some hope she will stay. The only obstacle may be CN. But with time, we might get away with having her back. STAY HOPEFUL!!
you know what i find annoying? lgbt tourist started to say that "AL players are sick of lolis" clearly showing they didn't research the matter, this has led some people to call us AL fandom "toxic" and i think is unfair because the claim is justified, she was clearly HMS sunfish, but got mixed and ended up as a KGV ship. i applaud the fandom actions to ask for a redesign, there's some of us that although like KAN-SEN still appreciate some historic touches in the girls.

she's awful, she looks completely out of place as a KGV class and looks nothing like a Royal navy battleship design in general go look at them in game all other than queen elizabeth herself are designed around been a knight, the only class that wear swimsuits as standard are subs. So no it's not about been a Loli it's just that the design doesn't fit, put her in knights gear and make her either Barham or Malaya from the Queen elizabeth class and she would have been fine.
dont meant to be rude but..... is that the whole point of classes, ship that is meant to looked and built the same? so there should be at least a few similarity between sisters. Also ppl usually forgot that AL is a HISTORICALes game, so ships design needs to make sense in a historical context (ik recent events had either fictional or kinda lazy design with historical details), it is the bare minimum for this entire time, the community expected that and they got dissapointed. It IS the rule, or at least have an explanation, of which Anson is mostly impossible can.

It's a kind of everything in the middle kind of situation. You can see why people hate it, but also see why it went too far on both sides. People angry that KGV sisters are not similar in stature, I can understand that, but that's not how the world works. This design was catering degenerates, well yeah, it's been so from the day one AL were started. The rigging are not conforming to the KGV class. True, but that's how art improvements goes. It is an unoriginal idea stolen from Blue Archive's Cherino indeed, yet cannibalizing or reusing design is what the other companies do like miHoYo and they were celebrated. Anson's original design missed the Anson's historical parallel, true it more aligns to Centurion and Sunfish's but it has historical elements. It's too crude for an April Fools joke, fine, telling artists to redo an art isn't an April Fools to some people either. Some said the hate is deserved, because I read enough documentaries that this is a cultural problem that I will never able to conform into. I personally couldn't care less about design as long as they still put consistent quality in terms of technical achievement. Yet, if I'm in charge of quality control, I would ask "Is this a serious KGV class shipgirl?" as well. I just hope that we can get her in the end, it felt so wrong being called a "good person" everytime playing Azur Lane and yet outright disowning a shipgirl straight to removal.

I'm inclined to believe (albeit based on theories) that this 'Anson' isn't Anson (as a theory as well), it's just HMS Centurion that masqueraded herself as HMS Anson during WW2 and.. it's supposed to be an April Fools Joke because it was a week away from April. The rigging is too different than the KGV class, the Chess rigging design is supposedly a reference to the Chess tactic of decoy where there would be a sacrifice. she would've been the sacrifice what about the swimsuit? during D-Day, HMS Centurion was scuttled to act as a 'breakwater' aka she just sat there on the beach to protect a Mulberry harbour (a temporary harbour) from the waves. to be more detailed, a breakwater is a barrier to protect the harbour from the force of waves. basically, she sat there at a beach like a beach episode. however the 'decoy' was.. uhh.. 'mixed reactions'. One the first hand, it fooled the entire Azur Lane Community.. on the other hand.. CN Players are *Heckin' pissed*. They didn't know and they are much more worse than the reaction of the AL EN community. So Manjuu, to save face and PR, they dropped it. they dropped the joke based on the Community reaction to it again, it's a theory. but I kinda incline to believe this and again, I could be wrong and what happened has happened. Best I can do hope something like this won't happen again.

So far this is the first time when devs had to "abandon" shipgirl before release, most of the times they just make some minor adjustments, like Flandre's legs or background of Harbin's CG. There's also Ryuuhou's swimsuit, but I don't know what's taking them so long
