I love the Swiss. We are thinking of going there for a holiday in July we are from Czech so by car. I am very excited to visit your beautiful country again
Your country and people are so beautiful! I visited Switzerland a few years ago and it was one of the best trips of my life. Everything and everyone there is so lovely, I'd love to go there again🥰💗
This is awesome! I brought my Canadian boyfriend to Lucerne with me and we also went hiking on Rigi! Btw: Raclette is safe to eat as a lactose intolerant person (my bf is as well) since the cheese has aged enough to get rid of almost all lactose :)
Dear Uyen, I am also lactose intolerant, but apparently there is no lactose in hard cheese. I love eating Raclette and Gruyere from Switzerland. It is a whole new world to be able to eat them.
Me too. I recently learned Edam is naturally without lactose. But I prefer to stay away from any dairy specially when traveling because you never know. 😬
You probably already know this by now, but if you need to ever make rice in a pot again, 2:1 ratio of water to rice, bring to a boil, stir once, turn to a (very) low simmer, then let the water cook out without stirring til the water is just gone..use a fork to scrape to the bottom to test....should take 10-20 minutes depending on the type of rice...comes out soft and fluffy every time :) Tomorrow's recipe: how to make risotto :)
Yes! I found it so sweetly funny that an Asian would have problems cooking rice. But when you always live with a rice cooker it‘s just out of your reach. I‘m from Germany and use exactly your method. Works perfectly with all types of rice. 😊
totally agree, im Viet and for my first 10 year life when my grandma don't have money to buy a rice cooker, this is exactly what she teach me, only fall a few time but overall its work perfectly !!!
@@roodood Yes! I've been making my rice drier with just barely the right amount of water. The rice comes out chewy but not hard. We mix sticky rice in too sometimes. The 2:1 ratio by volume makes the rice way too wet.
Uyen! I absolutely love your long form content. I’ve been a follower of yours since you had a handful of followers on instagram. I’ve been cheering you on for two years now and am so happy to see your channel grow ❤ Congratulations to you and german bf on your engagement and i’m thrilled you had a nice trip. Thanks for your thoughtful and informative narration. I learned a lot about what I will do when I visit. Vielen dank❤
@@uyenninh Of course!! I’m so happy you saw my comment 🥺 One of the first videos I remember of yours was the one where you thought you broke the window while trying to open it. I was new to germany at the time and had the same panic reaction so I found it very relatable and funny! 🥰
I think you would be hard-pressed to find a happier ladybug in all of Switzerland🐞 Love your short-form videos but your travelogue is so warm and compelling that it's like being there with you rather than just watching. Never change, your charm is that you are you, with no pretence or tricks just honest and wonderfully funny content with your fiance. Thank you 😊
Three things I've learned after living with a westener better half for a decade: 1. I can live on bread and potatoes when I'm too tired or don't have time to make asian dishes for myself. 2. Walking up and down mountains strengthen my stamina, improve my health and keep my body weight on a good level. 3. When on skis, as long as I don't go fast down a very steep hill, I won't fall very far (definitely not all the way down the mountain). I mean there are snow piles, trees and other things that stop you from rolling.
I am Swiss, and I am sooooo happy you liked it here that much!! Also, you trying to say Rigi made me laugh 😂 my boyfriend is from the Netherlands and even he is struggling to spell some of our words, don't worry 😊 also, you guys had the perfect weather 😮 greetings from Switzerland to you and german fiancée!! PS: I was at the carneval too! Mabe I saw you and thought " what a cute ladybug!"
Hello Uyen, thanks for the video. As a Malaysian who moved to Switzerland few years ago I could relate to your stories. You’re right, it’s wonderful to be able to wake up everyday to the good view (that’s why I’m not ready to go home yet). As for skiing - yes it can be dangerous (I know of many who had accidents) but it’s super fun and rewarding once you know how to do it. I’ve also adapted my diet to be able to go without rice cravings for a week (when travelling). Looking forward to more long form videos from you.
As a Swiss who grew up lower middle class, we ate out maybe once or twice a year for special occations and I never learned to ski (as opposed to all my friends, who even now go skiing every winter), because it was too expensive. So yes, good way to save money!
I thought everyone in Switzerland would find the prices affordable. My sister currently lives in Lausanne and I haven't gone to visit because it's expensive there.
I am SO happy you are making longer form content! I love the travel content and the cooking content! I feel like I got to go on a mini vacation watching this.
I love your videos!! My daughter was a foreign student in Germany for several years, so we can relate to so many things you experience. But my husband grew up in a warm climate and immigrated to my home state of Michigan, which has very severe winters…so I recognize all the shocks you experience in cold weather, too 😂. You are very wise to already recognize what your body needs to be healthy and function best; it took me way too long. Your English is SO GOOD (how??) that I feel confident you will become fluent in German, too! ❤
I visited Lucerne over 30 years ago and your video was like walking down memory lane. Switzerland is absolutely breathtaking! Thank you for sharing your travels.
Great video, I like both the long and short format and as a Swiss person, this video was especially enjoyable😊 Lucerne is a good place to visit, because you get a city and access to beautiful mountains. I’m also glad you could enjoy some good weather and clear views of the mountains. It’s really interesting that you got the impressions that people are friendlier in Switzerland. I think Swiss people are still very reserved when compared to other countries and it is hard to make friends, just like in Germany, but we value a degree of politeness when interacting with strangers. We are less direct than Germans and use more polite speech; I think that’s why our customer service is percived as friendlier. And yes, Switzerland is more expensive in general, but we also have higher salaries. But eating out is especially expensive, it was wise to buy groceries and cook for yourselfs. This is also a great tip for tourists in general to save a lot of money. In summer, you can buy some good quality groceries and drinks and enjoy them outside in the beautiful landscape. And Swiss trains are indeed expensive, but they are on time, unlike some others😜 I grew up in the mountains and we went skiing in school a lot. If you stay on the designated slopes and ski reasonably, the risks are the same as with any other sports. But if you ski outside of the slopes, don’t know the terrain and fall of a hidden rock face or get buried in an avalanche you have a high chance of dying. The molten cheese on bread you showed at 11:45 is actually called Chääsbrätel and it’s popular in the Bernese Mountains where I grew up. If you put molten cheese on potatoes, then it’s called Raclette, which is a more widespread dish and even known in Germany. I always enjoy a Chääsbrätel at our local festival in winter. Finally, I prefer a warm and savoury breakfast as well. I usually eat rice, tofu, and vegetables before work. Keep up the good work.
Kind of surprised you didn’t find a way to bring the rice cooker with you! 😂 11:36 this is awesome to see! As someone who grew up in New Orleans, I thoroughly appreciate a good carnival! 15:17 third and final edit (I tend to type as I watch) I just wanted to say that I’ve been watching RUclips videos literally since RUclips first launched and from the start, your channel, especially with the multilingual aspect, has been one of the highest quality start-up channels that I have ever seen. I absolutely love this video and all the longer ones you've been making. I've been following for a long time already, watching the short ones, but recently I started to keep up with rhe longer videos too! You are charismatic, genuine and fun, and the video just feels like what a normal person like a friend of mine would be doing. Thank you! Memories of traveling to Switzerland (Lucerne especially) after university! I felt like I took a little vacation with you and revisited Switzerland. I am amazed you have the energy to do all that cooking - I would be so lazy and have a Swiss breakfast of bread and cheese but your breakfast looks so tasty and healthy 😋 Please keep posting long form video and just be yourself. I think that's why you're successful- keep it up!
So easy to cook rice in a pot - you just need twice as much water as rice, add some salt and bring it to a boil and then turn down very low til all the water has been absorbed (usually @10 minutes - with lid on). Also NO stirring while it's cooking or the rice will stay hard!

I love your videos just the way they are - authentic!! You and your fiance seem like just normal people with big hearts and I'm really enjoying watching your adventures. Love from Australia! Come here sometime - you'll love it!
Such a beautiful country. I’m Australian and I must confess to some misconceptions about Switzerland. I think most Aussie’s assume it snows all over the country and the Swiss ski everywhere in Winter. Thank you for sharing your travels with us, it’s a real eye opener.
I am Swiss and I am very happy you enjoyed my country! :D I am not from this part of Switzerland, but it looks beautiful and makes me want to tour my country! I hope you had a wonderful vacation!
I just loooooooooooooove your videos . Every time I see you i have a big wide smile on my face. You go girl. Lots of love and yes thanks for virtually showing us Switzerland
I really loved this vacation vlog, i like how you enjoy your vacations without pressuring you to try everything, you are really true to yourself and discover the city in your own way
Thank you! I enjoy your longer content and insightful observations and humor. Keep up the good work!
I loved this video! I also love your short funny videos too! I’m so happy to see you grow and expand your video life! Your videos always make me smile and they pick me up when I feel down! Thank you!

Uyen, what a beautiful video about your experiences on Switzerland! Super interesting, cool things to see, snd some historical highlights! ❤
I love all your content. Your Shorts, your long videos are just wonderful. It's the first thing I click on every day! I love your exuberant energy and totally natural personality. How nice to hear and watch you and your fiancée vlogging and enjoying your vacation and each other. May all your travels be amazing and full of good food, good people, and wonderful experiences! Thank you for sharing your life and experiences and humor with us each and every day!! ❤️
I absolutely love this video and all the longer ones you've been making. I've been following for a long time already, watching the short ones, but recently I started to keep up with rhe longer videos too! You are charismatic, genuine and fun, and the video just feels like what a normal person like a friend of mine would be doing.
Admittedly I dislike the new yt vibe where people have to be so fake and so loud about everything to be viral.
So i am relieved to find channels like yours ❤
As I Swiss person I absolutely loved this ❤ Love your content
You're the best! Great video, thank you for sharing Switzerland with us
As a swiss, i love to see that video. Hope you come back one day. There are so many nice places in Switzerland. I live in the east and i love it.

I live in Küssnacht am Rigi, so I wake up with the mountains and the lake view everyday. I take pictures almost everyday as I still don't take it for granted how beautiful it is.

I absolutely love your videos - both on RUclips and on Tiktok. Whenever I feel sad or only get boring stuff on my For You page, I search your name and watch your Tiktoks. And I was so hungry for more content from you, so when I discovered you make longer RUclips videos, too, I was thrilled!

Keep making the long version. It is interesting to watch. You and your German fiance have a natural skill in making interesting video.
It was really nice seeing you explore my country !The sad part is that it is a very warm winter this year, so the snow you saw on top of the mountains was really thin compared to the usual 😢
Yes imagine waking up to this view daily... Lucky are those guys. Totally in love with the beautiful scenery. ❄️🏔️
Oh wow it is very surreal seeing you in my hometown, and especially knowing to have been in the same place at the same time! Really glad you enjoyed it 🤗

Dear Uyen,
I absolutely love this video. Thank you for making this video, I enjoyed it so much. I'm looking forward to visit Switzerland someday.
Thank you! Memories of traveling to Switzerland (Lucerne especially) after university! I felt like I took a little vacation with you and revisited Switzerland. I am amazed you have the energy to do all that cooking - I would be so lazy and have a Swiss breakfast of bread and cheese but your breakfast looks so tasty and healthy 😋
Please keep posting long form video and just be yourself.
Hi, just wanted to say I find your channel so much fun! I'm German and I can recognize so many things🤣🤣🤣
such a sweet video, i loved every bit of it!! it's so nice to watch longer videos from you, please keep going, you're doing great!!!
Thank you for visiting Switzerland! I always enjoz watching your shorts and videos!
