    Looks way more stable and portable than a Hi-lift! However the good ole bottle jack is still a compact solid go to for me.

      Yep I'm definitely not getting rid of the bottle jack in case, but this thing is pretty cool and can help get the truck in the air quickly.

    doesn't seem sketchy to me, like you said throw what you have under the frame and jacking points and you'll be good on the trail in a pinch, great video my friend

      It’s a small compressor that’s always with me. I didn’t expect it to lift so easily. Of course it’s going to lift no problem with a big shop compressor, but a tiny onboard one? Wasn’t sure. I’m trying to find a good alternative to the tried and true hi-lift jack so this may be a contender.

      @@lexus_offroad_adventures 100 psi is 100 psi whether it is generated by a 20 hp shop compressor or a hand bicycle pump. The only difference is the speed of which the air is produced. Take the surface area of the top of that air bag and multiply by the psi. So if your air bag is 8" in diameter that's about 50 square inches. 50 x 100psi equals 5000 lbs of lift. I think that trying to lift 5 tons would be sketchy at best. These types of jacks work best on flat ground....be very careful if there is even the slightest amount of off camber, incline, etc. Best jack is the factory Toyota screw drive bottle jack with an adapter on it to allow the use of a cordless drill and an extension to reach the frame, etc. Two of these jack will take care of just about anything and they are also a jack stand from a safety point of view. Super light weight and with minimal bulk.

    Do you have any plans to run an air tank? Could come in handy for air tools etc.

      I have air tools and I ran them in the previous video. It works ok with the air manifold, but it would for sure be much better with a proper air tank. I’m definitely considering it.

    That's not armoured

    • @lexus_offroad_adventures
      @lexus_offroad_adventures  Год назад +1

      Full steel bumper/winch, 3/16ths steel RCI skids including gas tank skid, and rear end swing out with Hitch. For an off-roader, that’s armored.
      Maybe you’re referring to a bullet-proof armored car? This is an off-road channel.

      @@lexus_offroad_adventures oh, yes, no offence but that's pretty standard equipment for offroad builds. Armoured implies bulletproof

      @@MoMo-pe8fp Forgot to mention the DOM steel rock sliders as well. Where you from? Out here in southern California, most people just add a lift and tires + maybe a light ARB skid plate kit and call it good haha
      Anyway, all I meant by fully armored is that I have all the coverage needed for rock crawling. Not sure what else I would add other than those cool brush guards they put on their rigs down in Australia. But that doesn't add much weight. There's probably a half ton of steel on this thing, which was the point of me including it in the title, because shes a heavy pig and a tiny onboard air compressor is lifting her
