I see you're running wheel spacers. Any problems with those rock crawling or doing anything more hard core than street driving?
If installed properly, they will perform as intended and lasts as long as the vehicle.
Zero problems. Any reported problems are usually because of low-quality spacers/studs or improper installation. I recommend if you want to run spacers, spend the money on Spidertrax units and just follow the instructions
what about the RCI link skids?
what made you pick these over any other skid plates?
I have RCI skids everywhere. I’m sure their link skids are great. To be honest I didn’t think the link mounts would immediately get crushed the first time out rock crawling so I didn’t get the RCI ones along with the rest of my skid plates to save money (dumb). I went with Eimkeith ultimately based on the recommendation of like 50 people in the comments on a post I made on GXOR asking how best to fix my mangled mounts.
Why wouldn't you just beat he gas tank shield with a hammer?
1) Would have to be a huge hammer. Not sure it would work without a press or running it over carefully 2) we were running out of daylight and didn’t wanna run into fitment issues on it. Plus 3) I was on shop time. I’ll probably do that on my own time one of these days
