I've been carnivore for 5 years and watched dozens of different "content creators/influencers" in this space daily the entire time and for some bizarre reason only just found Dr. Chaffee's channel this last week. One of the best role models I've seen for this way of eating. Absolute chad.
I’ve had anxiety , skin issues and ibs since I was 16. I’m 66 now, started carnivore a month ago and my skin is clear already and anxiety is fading quickly. Hoping the bowel calms down next. Thanks guys.
@@auntieanna Ibs completely gone. Bp meds down from 5mg amlodipine and 8mg candesartan to 2.5 mg amlodipine. Aic down from 36 (uk measure) to 28. Testosterone up from 17 to 26.
It’s nothing more than click bait… such a disappointment… it just proves that these guys are only after views… not remotely interested in truly helping anyone with any ACTUAL information to combat this sinister disease…
Been on carnivore for about 3.5 months. 24 surgeries hernia mesh victim, always lived clean don't smoke drink etc. Have chronic mild infection bio film etc. Back pain etc etc. This has relived many symptoms so far. It's not easy and yes they want to control the food supply
Eating only meat has been absolutely life changing. I have suffered from bouts of depression and anxiety, and eating only meat has absolutely calmed my mood! I can’t explain it, I’m a better husband, employee, and am killing it in the gym with no slumps in energy. Only thing that concerns me now is the all of the propaganda against eating red meat. I see it everywhere. Thanks for all you do Dr!! You are really helping people.
Propaganda is exactly what it is. Red meat is the most healing and nutrient dense protein and the conspiracy to destroy our health is very real. So don’t pay no attention to the propaganda
Rule of thumb: whatever society tells you to do, do the opposite Don't eat red meat and eggs, eat as much red meat and eggs as possible Carb sources like bread and rice are healthy, avoid them like the plague Sunlight is dangerous, get sunlight every day
Crohn's disease here. Day 27 of Carnivore Diet. As of Day 2 (yes, day two), no more chronic gut pain! Sustained energy = yes. Less fatigue = yes. Fewer urgent trips to the bathroom = yes. Significantly less cramping = yes. The diarrhea that some people are reporting to experience with the carnivore diet is NOTHING compared to bathroom issues from Crohn's.
@@Alessioz98 Day 75 of carnivore. Dropped 20lbs without exercise. Stomach inflammation and pain are still calm. There were 2-3 times that I ate something with extra spices or manufactured ingredients/preservatives. I felt negative stomach reaction immediately (seriously within 10-30 minutes). Made it through an out-of-town vacation by packing my own food (cooked steak, hard-boiled eggs and cheese). I am still convinced this is the meal plan for my life and better health.
@@michaelacomptonmusic I also have Crohns, just had another surgery... switched over to carnivore today. Great to see you are feeling good, I really hope you remain healthy. Take care of yourself buddy.
@@anthonychaffeemd yes! IMO carnivore diets have great potential to help those with major mental disorder, even if keto hasn't fully helped. It is the ultimate elimination diet after all, packed full of nutrient-dense foods, healing for the gut and without the problematic plant antigens 💥
I have suffered with Crohn’s for 25 years. I was diagnosed with it at 21, my mother has it also. I spent 6 years with chronic pain and frequent hospital admissions, living off painkillers, and eventually a disability pension. The side effects of the cocktail of drugs that I was taking was almost as bad as the Crohn’s itself. I was not sure if I could ever have children or hold down a job even. As a result depression became an issue also. Things became so bad I was put on a trial drug ( Remicade/Infliximab ) which amazingly reduced my symptoms. I have been on 8 weekly infusions now for almost 20 years. My Crohn’s is in remission but I suffer from a nausea/ poison type feeling at the time of infusion as well as anxiety and huge blood pressure spikes. I can honestly say I have tried almost every diet in the book, but have been doing some research and watching your videos as well as that of other doctors recommending carnivore. 4 months ago I started the carnivore diet, despite much condemnation from friends and family, but the results have been astounding. I am a healthy weight, no bloating and have regular solid bowel movements. I am feeling the healthiest I have been in 25 years. The only question now is should I discontinue my infusions and stop this drug that I feel is poisoning me on some level. I am so scared of going out of remission. Thanks so much for the work you do and having these forums.
Hi Bram, I was diagnosed with Crohn’s last year. I’ve been on the remicade infusions for 8 months, I go every 8 weeks. Everything was going great up until recently when out of nowhere I had a huge flare up. I have found this channel and adopted the lions diet to completely reset my gut. Just wondering do you have any tips for someone just starting off on the diet ?
By remission I mean no sign of infection or damage, apart from diverticula, and no surgeries ( flare ups were never localised ) Tips for carnivore would be to keep it as simple as possible. I try and eat only ruminant meat, too much pork, fish or chicken isn’t great. Keep up your electrolyte, water and fat intake. Salt and animal fat are hugely important to maintaining energy. I’d recommend staying on the diet for 90 days to really assess how your gut is transitioning. Make sure you have cold meatballs, butter, jerky, carnivore chips for the times you really need a snack. I have added sauerkraut and avocado to my diet. Sugar withdrawal is the hardest thing. I still drink brewed black coffee.
Mate im bout go to go on humira, and im looking at carnivore as well so id say talk to your gastro and organize a weekly or bi weekly test of sorts to monitor the chrons while going off the meds if yiur fine in 12 weeks with less or no chrons activity then your set if a slow alby noticible resurgence then stay on the meds and stick to carnivore, sadly this is my goal as i have a very severe case if my meds is dropped i die and i know it.
In my 25 plus years with my Auto Immune disorder that was the best explaintion I have heard even better than the sepecialist I seen!!! Thanks Doc! I am currently trying to convince my freind to try Carnivore. he suffers from Crohn's and Tinnitus is when you experience ringing or other noises in one or both of your ears. He takes all kinds of pills and just looks at me when I talk about Carnivore!
I love this man's videos and podcasts, listen to him when I drive and the common sense biology he teaches has led my gal and me to our carnivore lifestyle which is a Godsend!
I just started changing to true carnivore this week. I've been fighting Crohn's for over 20 years taking $30,000 IV treatment every six weeks. I knew I was just a money merry go round for them. It never went away I've suffered all this time and really about 3 years ago gave up and really started going down hill, home 99.9% of the time alone. Then I seen Dr Berry and DR Chaffee interview and it just clicked with me. I've tried so many things so it was hard to talk me into trying something else but I want to try this. The carb/sweet cravings are real in this first week. WOW Right now I feel worse but I have to push through this stage.
Also with Crohn's here. Diagnosed at 25 yrs old in 2006. I did 3 yrs of Infusions. Been on azathioprine since tho :( today was day 1 of carnivore for me. Keep me updated on your journey!!! Update: week 14 down 32 lbs, no flare ups!
@@JessClarkArt Roger that but I do want to say this week has been hard fist full week at about 95% Carnivore diet. It was just the body wanting it carbs and sweets. LOL It's fading a little now and tonight has been much better. My gut has felt better but energy levels very low till tonight like a shift maybe starting but also could just be a goof day. I will see over the next few days if I keep feeling better. I kinda think it will be a little up and down for a bit. Just MHO. Good luck in you Journey.
@@RedRoyce good to hear you're going strong. :) I'm on day 3. I feel great. I accidentally used seed oil on day 1. I know better now. I have been eating fatty cuts of steak with salt and butter only, water, eggs, cheese, and a splash of milk for scrambled eggs. My cravings are gone. I have 3 kids and a hubby that love their lil Debbie's and soda, too. I also still have to cook for everyone else. I have read that the culprit of the cravings is usually diet sodas or any cal free sweeteners.
I've been meat and eggs for 6 months and my Crohns of 43 years has essentially resolved. It's like a miracle. From 10 times a day to once a week or longer is amazing. No more bloating, pain, bleeding or constant diahorrea. Scared I'm gonna wake up!
Wow! 24:49 "the biggest thing is the anxiety goes away." 💖💕 So many amazing changes from a Carnivore diet. Thanks for mentioning how harmful plant farming is on Everything!!! 😣
I have many of the same issues. Hidradenitis is what’s horrible for me. 2 1/2 months on the lion diet. Already seeing much improvement. Can’t wait to go into full remission.
Love these listens! I should get my vegan brother to listen to this stuff! (He makes no sense to me) Carnivore all the way💪🥩🥓 it’s the answer to so many things.. Stay healthy. Stay free all ☀️
Thank you for watching, I'm glad you enjoyed it! Yeah if you are able to get your vegan brother to listen to some of these things, start with the video I did on the facts about carnivore and vegan diets, because I think that one covers most of the arguments back and forth on why you should be eating this way as opposed to plant-based. I will put a link here as well. ruclips.net/video/a_zSIpUjfS4/видео.html
@@marieroxanebaptiste9143 Well that's fantastic that your symptoms have reduced enough that you don't need medications! I don't know exactly what you are eating, but I have found through speaking with hundreds of patients and other people dealing with autoimmune issues, especially Crohn's, that you need to be as close to red meat and water as possible. Even pork chicken fish eggs and especially dairy can keep inflammation going and you experiencing some issues with your Crohn's disease. If you haven't already, go to a pure red meat and water diet and get grass-fed and finished if you can. Good luck with it! Sounds like you're doing great already though.
I DID go plant based Whole Foods at one point… per info from daughter in law, thought it would be great for my health! Anyway, after doing that for over a year, I saw NO improvements in my health! And was extremely SICK of mushroom burgers etc… After that failed, I found Ken and Neisha, and Dr Chaffee, and decided to have a go at it! What did I have to lose?!? Anyway, after a short time I actually found myself feeling better! Kept at it and have lost 80 pounds of excess thus far! I have lots more energy, and feel better than I have for decades! Keep preaching it guys! It DOES WORK! It did for me anyway!!! 😊
I need to address this issue of methane on Dr. Chafee’s channel. I am not an expert on cows, I am an expert on sheep and goats. I HAVE NEVER HEARD A SHEEP OR GOAT PASS GAS IN 57 YEARS!!! Anthony, you live in Australia, ask some ranchers there if they hear their ruminates fart. I live in the United States, I have never heard our ruminates fart, never ever. 95% of our animals are on the open range, but the animals that are fed alfalfa and corn, still no farting. It is a myth that ruminates create gas by the digestion of plant material. Ruminates were designed to consume plant material, as such natural plant material does not cause digestive upset in ruminates. I said “natural” meaning that grains in large quantities can kill a ruminate. It is not natural for a ruminate to consume large quantities of grains. These will cause stomach upset and death.
My son can't eat beef as well. Because they let beef hang for a moment before selling it. My son can eat only meat that our butcher kills specially for him, meaning very, very fresh meat.
Interesting! That's really unfortunate that he's so limited, however some people find that after 6 months or so of a meet-only diet, the leaky gut heals and they aren't as sensitive to these sorts of things going forward. Hopefully your son is in that category.
I have histamine issues too. But sadly I can't afford to buy fresh meat every single day because grass fed beef that is freshly butchered is not a available in our area. It would be too expensive to travel to other places everyday just to get fresh meat. So I buy weekly. I'm 10 months on carnivore but still haven't built tolerance to histamines, well not surprising as my gut issues aren't resolved yet. I don't really expect several years of damage to my gut to just heal quickly. Also having low stomach acid and enzymes doesn't help either. I want to try DAO supplements ( diamine oxidase-degrades ingested histamines) but it's so expensive because it's imported. I tried eating beef kidneys because it has DAO but I can't stand it because it smells like pee lol and has to be raw because the heat will damage the DAO and it's an organ meat so I think I have histamine reactions to it(hives). I haven't tried beef thymus though since I've read it has DAO too. There's a supplement form of thymus too but it's also imported and expensive. Maybe I'll try eating semi cooked thymus. There's also a DAO supplement from green pea sprouts but again imported. I'm currently planting my own green peas and will sprout them myself and see how it goes. If I tolerate the green pea shoots juice maybe I'll incorporate it in my diet. Histamine intolerance makes it more difficult to heal issues it's exhausting and frustrating.
Having hair loss/telogen effluvium for 15 years, diagnosed with Crohn's 10 years ago, off meds for almost 7 years, but still had lower energy and discomforts. Keto for 6 months, then started carnivore, now almost 4 months. Feel so much better! Only thing i wonder is if there are people who had hair loss with Crohn's and reversed it on carnivore? 😅😃
Just had an aha moment! I learn something new every time I listen to an interview. I've had 2 large patches of skin on my face that were basically white for several years at least. I am very fair like Scotty, so while I am very aware of them, most people wouldn't notice unless closely examining my skin. I also noticed small white polka dots,, in other areas. Not related to scars, etc. which also appear white. I never thought of vitiligo or a pigment issue, I only thought of it as a problem of people with dark skin. This makes sense to me, especially the large white areas on my face. Although only cosmetic, another sign that my body is not doing well. I'm just in my first week of carnivore, and I notice some positive things already, obviously too soon to know; but I sure hope this continues. I think you are right, Dr. Chaffee! I'm trying not to stress b/c of the lifetime of counting calories and portions; b/c I believe I eat as much or more than you (Dr. Chaffee)! I am 62 years young, 5'5", ~100 lbs/45 kg and I'm eating 1 lb of ground beef a day, plus cheese, butter, and 1-2 eggs. I plan to try decreasing the cheese as soon as get to the meat market to stock up, I ate through my supply and was still hungry! My body is craving the meat - I would keep eating more but I don't think it would fit! I believe I am so undernourished and protein deprived after having been brainwashed into a low protein, no salt, vegan diet for 2 months. I'm listening to my body now! Lots of salt!
I lost my colon and rectum to colitis in 2001 was given a j-pouch and had to fight to get the Dr. To test me for crohns because after the surgery I never got better I was having a surgery ever other year. It wasn’t till 2012 that I was finally diagnosed with it by a Dr. At UM hospital Dr. Abreu she was the only Dr who listened to me all the others blamed it on addiction the very pills they got me addicted to (oxy) yet I had been of them for years. I’m now treated with stilara every 4 weeks 90 Im . I’ve been in remission since 2018 after having a bleed that they could not find (local hospital) has 12 units of blood in one week. I now have a iliostomy and suffer from frequent dehydration, short bowel syndrome, extreme fatigue and hypokalemia. My body is ravaged from all the surgery and have arthritis 23 years of bad Dr.s really screwed me. I too am hard on my body I smoke for the past 30years and want to quit but last time I tried the stress triggered me to fall out of remission. Anyway I’m sorry this is so long I just wanted to give you a little history and ask how someone with little to no money can do this I’m supposed to have at least 4 to 6000 cal a day in order to combat the short bowel syndrome and prevent a vitamin deficiency. The problem is when you can’t work and are on a fixed income with a child this is hard to do because the child must eat first. I would like to be able to be more active for my wife and son and possibly even work again to help her support the family but when you’re in this position and nothing seems to work and you’ve tried everything you just don’t know where to turn. If this would work for me that would be great problem is how do I do it with my current financial situation. I’m currently eating roughly 1500 cal a day maybe 2000 if I’m lucky. I’m 6 foot one and have not been able to get above 135 pounds for the past 10 to 12 years. I feel like I’m simply existing and I want to live
People respected and honoured their food in history. Unfortunately respect is not taught on any aspect these days. Honour and respect is needed in all areas on our lives.
I cant believe how hard it is to get answers and actual direction from actual doctors that were here guessing and having to do such intense fckin research. I get it im glad it exists. But its enough to fuck with someone’s head bad
I’ve reversed 90% of my suffering and issues with a carnivore diet. 12 year’s suffering with Crohn’s. I still have frequent diarrhea. 8 weeks now using betaine hydrochloride supplements for optimal stomach ph, slippery elm root and L glutamine powder for the intestinal lining. I still have diarrhea. It’s dark brown and not pale yellow anymore. I don’t know what else to do.
@@cynicist8114 For the last 8-9 months I drink 12L of raw milk 2L of raw yogurt and 1L of kefir that the farm makes every week. Small improvement yet nothing to write home about. I’m convinced my intestinal track is permanently damaged.
@Dr Sean Patrick I've also experienced diarrhea in the one-week period that I decided to embark on a carnivore diet. From the research that I've done, it turns out that the diarrhea is technically referred to as bile acid diarrhea which is caused by bile acid malabsorption. Since your ileum is inflamed, it's unable to reabsorb the 95% - 97% of the bile acids that it's supposed to from the bile released by the gallbladder when you consume fatty foods. One solution is to consume low-carb vegetables such as broccoli, cabbage, kale, spinach, and green beans, which function as bile acid binders. Alternatively, you can consult with a medical doctor to have them prescribe you expensive bile acid sequestrants that come with side effects. Wishing you all the best on your journey to good health.
Yes, found out that the Vital Farm eggs- chickens are pastured raised but only 5 out of the 7 days each week. Their website says they are given vegetarian feed 2 days of the week. Wish they were pastured raised all week.
I've never heard of Vital Farms, but I suspect if they are big enough to have employees, their work schedule may determine when the chickens can be put out on pasture. It's possible that they have fewer employees on the weekend, for example. But you are right, seven days a week would be better. My own chickens aren't on pasture at all, but I do give them greens from the yard as a supplement to their chicken feed.
If you do some checking around, you can probably find local farm eggs. And ask them what they are feeding the chickens and if the chickens are free to run and eat what they find. Bug eating chickens make for some tasty colorful eggs
Molecular mimicry is fascinating. I removed starch from my diet (entirely - I test everything w iodine drops) and my spondylitis/reactive arthritis has all but disappeared. Kliebsella overgrowth due to starch = angry joints!
In case anyone wonders, you can find bull testicles at Halal butchers. It is not common, though. The testicles taste similar to liver, but a bit softer. I do recommend trying them.
How about taxing anyone that chooses to become vegan? We all know that a vegetable based diet produces much more "gas" than a carnivore diet. I don't think I have farted more than 10 times in the seven months I have been a carnivore. It's infuriating to hear these ridiculous claims out there. I saw a stat on another carnivore RUclips channel that stated the population of cows in the US is at the lowest it's been since 1964. I commented on that video stating that if that statistic is accurate, shouldn't we be seeing a dramatic decrease in methane and other environmental gases? Thank you Dr. Chaffee for all your incredibly well-informed content!
Haven’t farted in 5 -6 yrs😅 since starting keto/ carnivore (except few carb cheats and definitely noticed!). Always wondered why Japanese consider it a compliment to fart after eating as a guest at one’s house 😂. Heard it for years but not sure if true😂.
We need a dating site for carnivores, I was doing great but when I got a boyfriend he fucked up my diet and everything else. It's impossible to turn some minds into eating healthy carnivore. Anyway he's gone now and I'm not going to let anyone else screw me up! LOL I will end up a super healthy hermit with no mate!
Pork is a big no, no for me. But other meats seem to be fine. Ive not been in carnivore long. But I feel much better and symptoms reduced. Diagnosed with Crohn's in January, 2023.
Personally, the carnivore diet has not worked for me yet since I always experience bile acid malabsorption which then causes bile acid diarrhea due to the fact that my inflamed ileum is unable to reabsorb the bile acids that form part of the concentrated bile stored and released by the gallbladder. The only way I've been able to avoid the diarrhea is by consuming low-carb vegetables such as broccoli, cabbage and green beans, as they play the role of bile acid binders. Hopefully once my Crohn's Disease has been healed, I will then finally be able to embark on the carnivore diet.
Do you have a doctor who is well versed in the carnivore elimination diet to help you? How long have you stayed strictly carnivore (zero carbs)? I had severe diarrhea for 6 weeks then it started resolving on its own.

You can just make your own pemmican at home (it's the same). Pemmican is a survival food, invented by american indians. There are a lot of youtube videos on how to make it. It literally changed my life, because you can just bring it everywhere❤

Love your videos Anthony I appreciate the no BS Info you put out and love the way you break down certain beliefs in regards to "Nutrition Science". I've been carnivore for about two years now and have experienced many benefits. The only thing that I would disagree with you on is worldview because Im a Christian and would obviously disagree with you in regards to human evolutionary origins and your belief of Macro evolution. Now saying that do you have any historical arguments for a carnivorous way of eating for someone like myself besides a evolutionary perspective? Again thanks for all you do man and sorry for the weird question. I just find myself sending videos of you to fellow Christian family members and because of the difference in worldview the message is sometimes perceived as being unpalatable. Maybe you could make a video on the subject. Cya thanks!
as i am rereading back thru the old testament i am amazed at the amount of animal sacrifice that took place and most of the time they had a feast afterward and the people were alowed to eat , for example in 1 kings after solomon dedicated the temple he sacrificed 20,000 bulls and 120,000 sheep and then they had a 12 day feast, it seems to be a common theme that they ate alot of meat go back thru it and you will be amazed, their diets seemed to be mostly animal products and some plant but not much, this makes sense because they were pretty much nomads and didnt stay in one place long enough to plant, only when people settled down did they start to plant things
When I was a kid in the 1950's my Mum hand milked our Jersey cow twice a day. She separated the cream and made butter every week. We drank full cream raw milk and added full cream raw milk (5% butterfat) to our porridge every morning. Later in the mid 60's we had a dairy herd selling milk for processing. I used to skim cream off top of the milk in the storage vat to add to my porridge. Today my siblings and myself (7 of us) are all in our 70's and only just beginning to suffer the effects of auto-immune diseases.
If LDL becomes oxidized and that's the bad type of LDL. When using cookwares that require a layer of fat on it to prevent rust (like cast iron and carbon steel). Would the fats on the cookware surface not oxidize from repeated heating over and over again, or from being left on the surface?
Personal experience here... Have a few resectionings including all of my ileum. What works for me is keeping my fat lower, between 50 - 70% calorie intake. I can't drink anything other than plain water, diet sodas / energy drinks, and coffee make the malabsorption worse. I also avoid dairy and eggs, or I get cramping and malabsorption.
Just eat the amount of fat that your body can absorb. You just need enough that and enough protein, let your body tell you what that is. If you aren't absorbing it and it's going right through you, then you don't need to eat as much. So just play around with it and see what your body can handle. Good luck with it!

Make sure it's not liquid fat, most, if not all, people seem to have a problem with liquid fats. Put it in the fridge if you have to.
Oh, also forgot to mention, if possible try not to drink while you're eating. I'm able to not drink for 15 minutes before I eat, and then I finally drink about 2 hours after I eat. That's helped a lot with reducing malabsorption.
Thanks for continiously reminding us of the basics. One Question: What's your take on using plant foods and herbs as short-term medicine for specific purposes? I'm currently adding coconut oil with the intention to remove fungi and parasites @community, feel free to share your view too

I can't find a single person actually talking about colonoscopy results, though. I want to do the diet but I need just a couple people to show me that their colonoscopy showed the colon was healed through actually looking at the intestines!!!
@hollysmith1347 I've refused my next colonoscopy and cancelled my appointment. Not worth the risk, the prep flushes out the good bacteria from your hard work on the carnivore diet. Then, the biopsies irritate the colon. Some people have reported flaring up after a colonoscopy.
Maybe the title of this video should have been different? The topic title sort of starts at 30:24 where Crohn's was mentioned as a possibility, along with a lot of other things and then veers off in many directions . Yuck, I didn't realize Wagyu meat was fed a bunch of grains, etc! Are there any studies that focus on the gut microbiome with the carnivore diet?
Something to consider~ A pig is not a ruminant animal. No matter what they're fed, they're not meant for food. They have many other beneficial functions though! Like, cuddling! 🥰
I was vegan, then vegetarian, for about a year. SIBO is real. I have SIFO from aspergillus. I have autoimmune disorders, hashimoto's and UCTD. So, I am trying carnivore for 5 months. Will see how it goes.
@Alessioz98 I'm feeling much better. My gut was a mess. Distended, painful, gassy, and I had horrible constipation, hemorrhoids, no energy, couldn't sleep but was exhausted. All this is gone except the fatigue, but I hope to get better with time. Besides meats and eggs, I've worked back in squash, avocado, coffee, tea, kefir, and dark chocolate. I eat very little of the non meat stuff. Always organic and non gmo.
I don’t know if you watched documentaries of wolves in Yellowstone national park. The wolves were absent in Yellowstone for nearly a century, and elks nearly destroyed the whole ecosystem because of the lack of predators. No new trees could grow for the very simple reason that as soon as the new ones came out of the ground, they were chewed down by elks. But as soon as wolves were reintroduced, they chased after the elks, so where wolves were, trees could grow, then beavers came back and built ponds because they now have foods/trees and materials for their homes, and then because of the ponds, fishes came back, then birds and whole ecosystem were revitalized. It’s so sad to see those who actually cared about the environment and animal welfare for so wrong about the true animal welfare and true environmental protections, where they should have put efforts in.
I am now on carnivore diet, because I have crohn's disease. I started only 6 days ago, so yet to see the results. Only problem is it is super expensive.
Not necessarily, I'd experimented by eating eggs and store bought mince meat and it equated to less than a Mc Donalds meal for comparison. Sounds restrictive, because it is. But, when you become fat adapted it's no drama, more of a chore eating in my experience. I've auto immune issues, which was the motivation to go to that extreme.
@@racecarjonny8460 Hi Jonny, half way through writing my comment, I'd thought about how relative my experience and statement may be inconsistent to different geographic circumstances. I should have included. I'm in England.
I have no gallbladder, suffer from acid reflux and have been suffering from Crohn’s disease for nearly 40 years. I have cut out all dairy , I drink only filtered water and nothing else. I eat very lean meats, tinned sardines and chicken breasts. The carnivore diet isn’t healing my symptoms at all.
Hi Sir, I hope you see that question: I have severe RA and trying carnivore currently (I'm on day 15, beef, eggs, pork belly). Initially I felt better, but I have some intense flares now. Do you think it will get better or is carnivore not for me?
Did you happen to watch this video? Dr. Chaffee said you have to be careful with pork. So maybe eliminate pork and maybe also eggs. Just stick to beef. But you gotta have your own trial and error
@@trishabrown8958 I love the 'you gotta have your own trial and error' part cos ultimately we're our own best teachers. Poster should start with the elimination diet first. Eat only beef until you're healed; then find additional things that may work for you. I've had problems adding eggs and dairy; so I'm just gonna stick with beef
Do you reckon that I stick only with beef? I've been on the carnivore diet for 5 and a half months eating butter and beef, and for the past month, I'm sticking to beef only. I have crohn's, IBS (bloating and diarrhea) , heavy brain fog,. joint pain has improved in the first month on the diet. Other symptoms improved a bit, but still persistent. How long should i give it before considering other options? I also believe that I have bad dysbiosis, i was wondering how long it takes for the microbiome to change. Thanks alot for your effort!
Good question. I saw a functional medicine doctor, after seeing a regular GI doctor. The GI doctor did all these tests, found nothing wrong, and said "I don't know why but things just aren't working." The functional medicine doctor did tests, and found SIFO (fungal overgrowth) from aspergillus. Aspergillus is that black mold on onions which is very common and most people just wash it off before cutting an onion. I was a vegetarian once. Anyway, I'm carnivore now, for the last 5 months. My symptoms are getting a little better, but I've got a long way to go in healing. From what I know these things take time
The problem with pork and chicken is that they're can be full of parasites. And if not cooked to death there's a good chance you'll be dealing with parasite issues. I only eat lamb and beef salted to taste with plenty of Celtic salt.
Dr. Chaffee, with all due respect I think you should visit an actual feedlot. (Not a farm). It will give you a much deeper understanding of why people are anti- meat. I value your medical and dietary suggestions but this would be another level of education. Another great video thank you!
what do you do after you enter remission via carnivore diet ? how do i get my gut to accept lactose and fibre once again aka how do i get back to the normal recommended healthy diet without medication and any inflamation happening ever again ?
Yeah you can just eat eggs if you like. Ground beef is generally cheap as well though, as is pork like pulled pork and pork belly. You want to make sure you get enough fat though
@@anthonychaffeemd thanks a lot for the answer, im 22 so i dont even have enough money to eat ground beef and pork (expensive in my country) but eggs are very cheap, so i will stick to eggs and butter until i can afford better.
The meat & egg & dairy price manipulation is just going to motivate people to raise their own meat/eggs/dairy or team up with neighbors. If people are willing to eat goat or lamb, they could easily process it themself and feed the extras to their dog. They could team up too process a cow together once a month.
@@gribbler1695 its the closest thing you can buy legally in Australia. Everything according to the makers of this product claim it retains all the enzymes that heat destroys. Its advertised as cold pressed RAW milk. Argue your case with them.
@@dombarton2483 Legally, raw milk means unpasteurised. There is no substantiated evidence to suggest there is any significant difference at all in the nutritional status of pasteurised or unpasteurised milk, or that raw milk provides additional health benefits.
Hi dr. Chaffee, I’ve been on the carnivore diet for 1 month, and just got diagnosed with diverticulitis, because of eating too much animal products and not enough Fiber. Is this common? Because this is scary and I don’t know what to do or why this happened or how to get rid of it. I would love any feedback or suggestions
On the topic of sabotaged meat, what they've been doing here in France with some beef patties is basically cutting them with plant protein. The retail price of it is noticeably cheaper, though I haven't looked into why (govt subvension/tax exemption or if they're using waste of another industry). And of course the packaging being almost a carbon copy of actual beef patties, except for the name of the item being "super tender" instead of "100% beef" you will get tricked into buying such poison if you're not proactively on the lookout. Hopefully they won't replace all beef with this slop, but you know they're thinking about it.
I bought that by mistake when I was staying in France! You're right, it's almost indistinguishable from the pure beef packages. It needs to be more clearly labeled, for sure.
My bowel movements are causing bleeding. I typically have a fatty rib eye for lunch and either bacon and eggs or 1/2 pound ground beef and eggs for dinner. Do I need more fat?
how long does it take for our body to adapt thies kind of diet and heal /reverse those diseases? Im On Keto / Carnivore for 6 weeks now and im still unsure... my dandruff is still there while my skin problems got a lot better... i always had pimples and ekzema in my face and around the scalp... after i went keto , my skin exploded, i had the worst condition ever... now 6 weeks later my skin in the face is compared to the years before WAY better, still not perfect... my nose always tend to be a little red and sensitive... and as i said, my dandruff got better, but still ichy and noticable... since im on keto and shifted more towards carnivore, my sleep got really bad... :( especially when i workout to much, my adrenalin seems to be that high which makes it really difficult so sleep for me... for far this diet is a 50 : 50 for me... so my question is, how long does it takes to fully adept and see all the benefits?

What can I do about the chronic diarrhea I'm dealing with *while eating carnivore* ? 😢 I've been on carnivore over 3 months. In the beginning, I experienced considerably lower inflammation, and bloat went away. Reflux reduced by about 80%. My hair started growing better, skin issues started clearing. But about 3 or 4 weeks ago, the diarrhea started. And for a week, it's literally watery diarrhea with chunks of undigested meat. 😢 I can't eat anything or I'll be in the bathroom 50 times a day. Beef, chicken ....it goes right through without digesting and the pain is horrible. 😢 Right now, I'm on day 2 of a bone broth fast to see if I can heal my gut. Maybe that's the issue?? HELP!! 😢
Also ....I was on a ketogenic diet for most of the last 7 years. I did well, but about a year ago, I began to have some stomach issues, occasional bouts of diarrhea. And then, I would see undigested veggies in my bowel movements. But the diarrhea on keto wasn't near as severe as it is now. Idk what to do except attempt to fix my gut. I will say ..... I've had a severe amount of trauma all my life, and my body has a lot of healing to do inside and out. So I have only lost about 10 or 12lbs. And need to lose about 35lbs more. I've lost one pant size. So I did introduce fasting about 6 weeks ago ....2 days, 3 days .....4 and 5 days ...trying to bring in autophagy to speed healing. But the diarrhea started after a 3 day fast. I was craving meat and I shouldn't have.😒😢 I should have gone to bone broth first and then a day later, maybe one egg and bone broth ....and slowly introduce food again.
Raw milk means people are growing their own food and home food production cannot be taxed or profited off of by investors. Anyone with a bit of property can have dairy goats & chickens which is most of the nutrition they breed with the dairy, eggs, meat & butter. Goats can turn weeds & hay into milk & meat on the cheap. Less money for Big Medical, related support businesses, government & the investor class. Plus less frequent turnover of property from longer life. Goat milk is better for people than cow milk, and goats are easily controlled and cleaned up after than cows. Less dangerous than large livestock. Even our sweet sweet cow hurt us a few times on accident, just so big & heavy. A gentle step on our daughter's foot was extremely painful. The half grown cow was being playful and bumped our other daughter in the head with her head when she tried to pick up the dropped lead line, lost her hearing for a month, plus the pain. Could give more examples of sweet clumsiness injuries, but you don't see the government encouraging lifelong marriage and homemaking careers either, bcz they can't tax that work at home!!!!! We homeschooled to give the kids enough time with their father. That's the only reason needed. The fill time private schools all assigned homework too, so we only did part-time private schools, co-op, classes, apprenticeship for high school, and actual homeschooling lol. Way too much driving around for what's called homeschooling haha. The investor class does NOT want people eating foods that cut them mostly out of the loop.
I just started this diet for my severe ulcerative colitis because remicade is not working. So far after a week the diarrhea is crazy but I'm trying to stick it out because it's hard to tell of it's helping as my symptoms seem worse so car. Any suggestions anyone ?
I think it takes time on carnivore to see results. I feel better overall, but I'm not cured. I think part of the thing is it takes time for the intestines to heal and then for the immune system to calm down.
I've been carnivore for 5 years and watched dozens of different "content creators/influencers" in this space daily the entire time and for some bizarre reason only just found Dr. Chaffee's channel this last week.

Just ignore it and keep buying local
Do your best to cut the middle man & find local ranchers/farmers even if you have to load a freezer ...
Propaganda is exactly what it is. Red meat is the most healing and nutrient dense protein and the conspiracy to destroy our health is very real. So don’t pay no attention to the propaganda
Rule of thumb: whatever society tells you to do, do the opposite
Don't eat red meat and eggs, eat as much red meat and eggs as possible
Carb sources like bread and rice are healthy, avoid them like the plague
Sunlight is dangerous, get sunlight every day
Interesting to see yet another person using this diet to improve his life.

Did it show healing on colonoscopy?
Amazing! I've got to have my DIL read your post! Hope you continue healing!
By remission you dont have any damage on your intestines?
Hi Bram, I was diagnosed with Crohn’s last year. I’ve been on the remicade infusions for 8 months, I go every 8 weeks. Everything was going great up until recently when out of nowhere I had a huge flare up. I have found this channel and adopted the lions diet to completely reset my gut. Just wondering do you have any tips for someone just starting off on the diet ?
By remission I mean no sign of infection or damage, apart from diverticula, and no surgeries ( flare ups were never localised )
Tips for carnivore would be to keep it as simple as possible.
Thanks again for the chat Dr Chaffee and Simon! I learned a great deal and had a ball.

It’s not farts that’s a misunderstanding it’s ‘burping’ - essentially comes out in their breath.
You’re a 🐐 Doctor
My son can't eat beef as well. Because they let beef hang for a moment before selling it. My son can eat only meat that our butcher kills specially for him, meaning very, very fresh meat.
Interesting! That's really unfortunate that he's so limited, however some people find that after 6 months or so of a meet-only diet, the leaky gut heals and they aren't as sensitive to these sorts of things going forward. Hopefully your son is in that category.
Is that a histamine reaction?
@@jeannedigennaro6484 Yes, absolutely.

Perhaps, but you can tell they are doing something right by the way their egg yolks look. I’ve never seen yolks so dark and orange.
Don’t be fooled by yolk color. It can be changed with colorants
@@oberweiss7190 i heard about that too. Terrible.
On a flare now and at my wit's end! willing to try this. Always fared better when I cut out dairy and wheat and mostly meat
Beware of veggies. They have caused some of my worst gut problems
I understand the desperation of needing to do something drastic.
hey did it workout for you by any chance?

Cya thanks!
I am also curious about this. Love your work, Anthony!
as i am rereading back thru the old testament i am amazed at the amount of animal sacrifice that took place and most of the time they had a feast afterward and the people were alowed to eat , for example in 1 kings after solomon dedicated the temple he sacrificed 20,000 bulls and 120,000 sheep and then they had a 12 day feast, it seems to be a common theme that they ate alot of meat
go back thru it and you will be amazed, their diets seemed to be mostly animal products and some plant but not much, this makes sense because they were pretty much nomads and didnt stay in one place long enough to plant, only when people settled down did they start to plant things
Good stuff! 😎
Thank you!
Raw milk is illegal in NZ too. Lable it bathmilk, could get away with that.
Pigs eat acorns and grubs. White Oak Pastures in Georgia , USA moves them regularly between large forest pens.
I’ve had Crohn’s for over 30 yrs with one small bowel resection in 2003. I cannot eat a lot of fat as it will go right through me. Any advice ?
Personal experience here... Have a few resectionings including all of my ileum. What works for me is keeping my fat lower, between 50 - 70% calorie intake. I can't drink anything other than plain water, diet sodas / energy drinks, and coffee make the malabsorption worse. I also avoid dairy and eggs, or I get cramping and malabsorption.
@@dianasabinamusic give him veal broth for weeks until he can eat properly
One Question:
What's your take on using plant foods and herbs as short-term medicine for specific purposes? I'm currently adding coconut oil with the intention to remove fungi and parasites
@community, feel free to share your view too
Is there any actual healing seen on scans and scopes from the diet alone?

I'm waiting for my next colonoscopy. My symptoms have almost gone.
This video was great!

Hey, I've canned testicles and fried them up, not bad for a one time "treat." One gal took a canned jar home to show her Mom who had a great laugh.
This is exactly what I live with. How does someone eat meat and eggs only? I'm fairly successful with it but I have cravings. Ugh.
I crave crunchy, salty things like potato chips and crackers. I also crave cookies. What's your craving?
What about AIHA? Auto Immune Hemolytic Anemia? Any testimonies?

Can I have this diet while having a flareup ?chrons disease is so confusing.
Carnivore is meant to be high saturated fat
Hi Sir, I hope you see that question:
I have severe RA and trying carnivore currently (I'm on day 15, beef, eggs, pork belly). Initially I felt better, but I have some intense flares now. Do you think it will get better or is carnivore not for me?
Try intermitent fasting for a few days also
I would take out egg whites (eat only yolks for now) and pork belly until you see some improvement.
How are you doing now my friend im in the same boat as we speak but midflare n suffering.
From what I know these things take time
Can you do a video about diverticulitis?
YES!
The problem with pork and chicken is that they're can be full of parasites. And if not cooked to death there's a good chance you'll be dealing with parasite issues. I only eat lamb and beef salted to taste with plenty of Celtic salt.
Depends where and who you buy from.
our worked is so f’ed up!
Dr. Chaffee, whomever made the thumbnail for this video spelled Crohn’s incorrectly!

Do you have a video on butter?
Dr. Chaffee, with all due respect I think you should visit an actual feedlot. (Not a farm). It will give you a much deeper understanding of why people are anti- meat. I value your medical and dietary suggestions but this would be another level of education. Another great video thank you!

Yeah you can just eat eggs if you like. Ground beef is generally cheap as well though, as is pork like pulled pork and pork belly. You want to make sure you get enough fat though

Can you drink coffee on carnivore diet?
The meat & egg & dairy price manipulation is just going to motivate people to raise their own meat/eggs/dairy or team up with neighbors. If people are willing to eat goat or lamb, they could easily process it themself and feed the extras to their dog. They could team up too process a cow together once a month.
You can buy raw milk in Sydney. The milk is called...raw cold pressed milk...produced by a company called made by cow...available at woolies
The high pressure cold pasteurisation means it's no longer raw.

Omg I didn’t know that about wagyu beef thank you!!! I had some and hated it & couldn’t figure out why since it’s supposed to be so fancy.
What’s wrong with Wagyu beef? I must have missed that! Thanks!
They also do that in Denmark. I was in complete shock the first time I saw it.
If they are doing that, then perhaps its best to get the butcher mince a steak before your eyes... then you know its pure meat!
My bowel movements are causing bleeding. I typically have a fatty rib eye for lunch and either bacon and eggs or 1/2 pound ground beef and eggs for dinner. Do I need more fat?
Go to the doctor asap, that's very concerning
Omg, please fix that typo on the Headline screen 😩
how long does it take for our body to adapt thies kind of diet and heal /reverse those diseases? Im On Keto / Carnivore for 6 weeks now and im still unsure...

What can I do about the chronic diarrhea I'm dealing with *while eating carnivore* ? 😢
I've been on carnivore over 3 months.
I can't eat anything or I'll be in the bathroom 50 times a day. Beef, chicken ....it goes right through without digesting and the pain is horrible. 😢
Right now, I'm on day 2 of a bone broth fast to see if I can heal my gut.

Carnivore diet.
We had pigs growing up and never heard that before lol. Omg no more pork now. Just kill me already haha

I think it takes time on carnivore to see results. I feel better overall, but I'm not cured. I think part of the thing is it takes time for the intestines to heal and then for the immune system to calm down.
