This sounds really faithful to the original this version

@Linus Armbrust That's because the main difference came in the key change. There are some parts that definitely show it's the remix, just removes the key change to fix it.

@@cdsern6405 So specifically, this is actually a mashup of the original and the remix. I like aspects of both (for example, the original's bell's are much more prominent) so overall my favourite version of the track is a mix of the two. However, as they differ in key, I made 2 different versions, one where the original is pitched up, and one were the new version is pitched down. This is the pitched down one. Notedly, the difference between the two is exactly 1 semitone.

I'm going to leave this exact same comment on both edits of this track as well as extensions because I kind of want to talk about this.
Now that both versions have more or less been combined to make the true "definitive edition" of the track, I have to say, I don't think I really have a preference for which pitch I prefer.
I could listen to both of these back to back and get a song of equal quality either way.
What is definitely different however is the tone, atmosphere, vibes, and feel of the two different pitches.
The lower pitched version we've been used to all these years gives off a "The Bad Guys Are Winning / Have The Head Start ;(" feel to it.
The higher pitch version used in Definitive Edition on the other hand gives off the exact opposite feeling: "The Good Guys Are Winning / Have The Head Start >:)"
This single pitch change combined with your opposite edits to either restore the DE version to the original or change the orignal to the DE pitch creates a missed opportunity where regardless of which soundtrack you pick in the options, the devs after correcting the remaster to the original pitch in an editor to not have to change the guitar's tuning (that's also a missed opportunity seeing that you seemed to have done that part for them very easily.) realize that both pitches could be used in both versions depending on what is going on in the cutscene.
The Mechon have the advantage? original pitch.
Shulk and friends have the advantage? DE pitch.
Regardless of which soundtrack you picked.
While we're talking about options, how about an option to turn this alone off even, or even a Why Not Both option for any track that has an OG and an DE version like showcased here.
The opportunity is there, the potential is there, that's unfortunately just not what they went with.
but it's not like the devs didn't realize this or anything like that, didn't notice it, didn't come up with this, etc.
Based on what I've read in other RUclips Comments, it sounds like an alpha, beta, etc version of this idea did make it into the final game.
Apparently for just one cutscene in the game, even if you set it to the DE soundtrack in the options, it will still play the original version of the track for just one cutscene.
This would mean that the devs felt the original pitch was far more appropriate for that one scene and that the higher pitch would've lost the impact that was meant to be had.
This effectively means that I'm saying here did cross the developer's minds in some shape or form. They just didn't go all out with it.
Which makes this missed opportunity hurt just a tiny bit more.
But hey, the Switch version lives up to the Definitive Edition name even despite this.
The visuals alone.... specifically the facial expressions in the Switch version.... That alone dates the original Wii release by a ton for me!
The first cutscene with Engage The Enemy? Yeah, compared to the Switch remaster, the Wii Version by comparison looks like it was done by whoever did the cutscenes for Sonic Adventure, because the facial expressions just don't match the voice acting if you ask me.
But considering that Pikachu in Brawl will literally smile even when getting launched, hit by an attack, or grabbed, but he properly makes a pained expression in Smash Wii U and Ultimate, I think it's safe to say that this is a limitation of the Wii itself and they did the best they could.
I imagine a CRT plus an original Wii would disguise this perfectly though. I only noticed that Pikachu literally smiled while getting hit when pausing the game and zooming in and years after Brawl came out and while Wii U was in development.
I noticed it on a CRT mind you but I still didn't notice it for years and only when pausing the game and adjusting the camera.
Proof that consoles designed with CRTs in mind like the Wii took full advantage of the CRT's low quality image to save on resources to boost the visual quality to current gen in other ways.
But back to the original topic since I got far off of it lol.
The last thing I'm going to say is that I have a special gift from God themselves (Or from lucky Science birth giving RNG I'll let you decide lol) when it comes to music.
I have what is known as Synesthesia.
How it effects people is completely radically different for each individual so here is some more info: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Synesthesia
As for how it effects me specifically, I am able to *hear* colours in music, and ONLY music.
Yes, *hear* colours, that's not a typo or an error, I can actually hear colour.
What you guys perceive as a mere pitch change doesn't sound at all like a pitch to me.
It sounds like the colour or colours of the music itself have completely changed.
the original pitch of this track is completely Red to me.
The DE pitch of this track is completely Green to me.
but this alone isn't what I find interesting (but maybe it is to you guys since I've had this my whole life and it's the idea of listening to music in Black and White with no colour like an old film that sounds weird to me lol)
What I do find interesting is the possible coincidence or even completely intentional thing I'm about to bring up here.
What is the colour Red usually associated with?
Negativity, Stop Signs, Red Traffic Lights, Wrong Answer, etc right?
What is the colour Green associated with?
Positivity, Go Signs, Green Traffic Lights, Correct Answer, etc right?
Is it a coincidence that the Green higher pitch sounds like Shulk is winning and the Red lower pitch sounds like the Mechon are winning?
Or is it completely intentional that one sounds positive and one sounds negative?
Does it only sound positive or negative because of the colour choice? Or is that what the two sound like respectively to people without synesthesia like I assume most of you don't have?
Curious to hear your responses. :3
Also to the maker of these edits, if you'd be willing to do these for any track in the game that has both a DE and Original version I think a lot of people would really appreciate that.
Same with extended versions for all of those.
Also, if you could do this for the rest of the Bowser's Inside Story OST I will literally kiss you ~
    Thanks for reading ~
If I think of anything else to say I'll edit this comment later.
Edit: If the devs did what I suggested here in full, I don't think anyone in the fandom for this game would complain about having a second alternative version of this track for both versions.
It's an improvement, addition, etc regardless of which one you prefer and it's a shame that never saw the light of day.
    :(

Dude just wanted to state his opinion, ended up writing a 30-paged essay in the form of a RUclips comment and then post said RUclips comment in three videos done by the same Channel owner. If that wall of text aint some kind of copypasta, it might as well be now. Now if you'll excuse me, I'll be making the exact same comment you're reading right now on the other two videos just for the sake of consistency.

The colours that you associate each pitch with really intrigue me. While I don't have synesthesia, I have perfect pitch which means I can hear exactly what pitch or key a piece of music is in without any prior references. A side effect of this is that I have colour associations with music as well, based on the keys a piece is in. This is because I have a strong association of accidentals (the black keys on a piano) with cold colours, and white keys with hot colours. It's hard to describe the exact colours and reasons for them without going into music theory, but the spectrum roughly goes: All white keys - Yellow : All black keys - Purple.
So, for me, the original key is a dark, visceral purple, as it's in the key of E-flat minor (6 of the 8 notes in the scale are black keys)
While the DE version is more of a light Sky Blue, as E minor only has 2 black keys in it.
Hearing your colour associations with each track be green and red are super interesting to me because I don't associate any note with anything close to either of these colours haha. Bit of a ramble, but wanted to weigh in with my comparison

Huh, now that you mention hearing Purple instead... You wouldn't happen to know what keys the Somnom Woods in Maleo Weegee Dream Team are played in would you?
If it's the same keys then you hearing purple and me hearing red but then we add the part where I hear purple in Somnom Woods would be quite the uh, what's the word, connection? evidence? I dunno
I might edit this comment over time, I have so much to say but so little enery to let it all out at the momentum
What a good time of year to bring this topic back though, something about Autumn makes me binge a bunch of game music

I have to be completely honest with you. The lower pitched version of An Obstacle in Our Path is WAY better than the high pitched version of it.
