Everyone complaining about how much salt and oil is on there, steadily eating fast food.
It looked great to me
Right ?! lmao
Finally!!! A video where the creator actually speaks.
So for those who say "All the oil" - there is 2 tablespoons in this and 90 percent goes to the bottom of the air fryer- which is why this works so well. And for those who say "all the salt" there is 1/4 tablespoon of salt on 12 ounces of broccoli.
Looks great. But I think you used more than 2 tbsp of oil. Before you pick the bottle up it is full to the brim, and when you put it down, the oil level in the bottle has gone down by about an inch. Having said that, it does look tasty and I will be trying it as soon as I get my new air fryer.
Dr. Simpson, You are so handsome‼️
Ok I tried this out and I just wanted to say it taste great!, Ill cook this again soon!!......
but its also important to know that its a misconception that the grease will fall to the bottom, normally in the case of meat this is true, however the broccoli just absorbed nearly all the oil I threw on it and as for the salt, salt will stick onto anything that has a wet surface. so it will not fall.
Also if you do choose to use oil, whether its large amount of oil or a small amount, its important to use an oil that has a high smoke point. Olive oil is a healthy oil but only has a lower smoke point meaning, if it reaches above that temperature the oil will start to break down. Avocado oil or other oils with higher smoke points on the other hand has a smoke point of 520 degrees farenheigt.
Thank you! My husband just bought me an air fryer and this was a fantastic way to make healthy broccoli! It came out delicious!
Most of the oil goes to the bottom of the fryer. I use 2 tablespoons
I was looking for air fryer broccoli recipes and this one is perfect thank you! I also have sumac as well, which I love. Thank you for your simply yet effective video. Going to cook this today :)
Good morning frome Thailand❤
This man speaks facts thank you, I never knew I needed crispy broccoli in my life. Good video
Wearing scrubs at home makes me think you're one of those Drs that make your friends call you doctor.
no - not at all. They call me Terry- sorry you have prejudice against doctors
Yes! Love this! I use Tony’s No Salt - so easy and simple!
This was an awesome recipe and stupid easy to make. Thanks Dr Terry
THANKS
This will be the first thing I make with my air fryer.
Thanks appreciate you showing this way of cooking way vegtables it is good everyone if you add a little olive oil its less fat and better for your heart thanks Dr. My family eats healthier now that we bought an air fryer
Momma C olive oil reduces heart inflammation in all studies
I just started your recipe I bet it’ll delicious
I tried broccoli earlier in a dish but it fried quicker than the other items so I had to remove it sooner. I didn't use as much evo as you and instead decided to lightly spray the basket with canola oil. Also there was already seasonings with the recipe so didn't feel adding extra salt was required. I will try your method later and see if I can get results like yours. Thanks for the vid👍👀
After cooking it in the air fryer, can you freeze it? Or later on heat it up in the microwave?
you could I guess, but the crunch will disappear and it will be a bit limp in texture. :-) Thanks for asking!
How can it be low calorie with all the oil you put on it?
deskjockie49 olive oil is healthy and most is blown off
Healthier then lard but oil is still 120 calories a table spoon and your putting on about 600 calories worth looking at it. You can see it dripping out when you dump out the broccoli
Andy Hiscock one tablespoon for 12 oz of broccoli and most is blown off less than ten percent remains
beautiful kitchen, Doc!
Cannot wait to try this recipe thank you
Hi Terry, mine gets very dry and brown, what am i doing wrong? got a phillps XXL
Thanks 4 the great recipe! I just bought broccoli 🥦 @ the store yesterday! I also subscribed to your channel as well! Noticed you have a lot of health tips too! By the way, your kitchen is So Beautiful 😍
Dominique 18 thx!
the reason most people buy an air fryer is to avoid the oil and that's what cuts the calories . . .
Morgan M and you do. There is two T on all of these and over 90 percent is blown off by the machine. In contrast to fat frying where it is surrounded by oil
Must try
Thanks!!
Thank you for this video. Would putting a packet of ranch seasoning be bad for something like this? I’ve been debating on getting one of these for my truck to try and eat healthier out here on the road.
That’s a lot of salt
that is 1/4 tablespoon on 12 ounces of broccoli
that is 1/4 tablespoon on 12 ounces of broccoli
Love your technique!!
Is it crunchy?
Tiny Gamer yes
Beautiful
Would using Avocado Oil, be better to use for the Fat in Keto?
Lonewolf Ent no. Olive oil is better as a fat for the body
Looks Good!
Do i have to bool the broccoli first or i can just chop fresh one and throw in the air fryer
Looks delicious. More foodie video.
how do i cook frozen broccoli?
Air Fried Broccoli
He's a doc he gotta get yall to the waiting rooms somehow, how else than extra salt?😆😆 lol. This looks seriously good tho in all honesty. I HAAAATE boiled broccoli that your mom would make when you were little and would boil into DETH so it's all nasty and mushy I like crisp snappy broccoli and only the florets so this is delicious for me
What temperature?
Have you guys never tried imitation salt? or Mrs dash ?
Nice video 👍
Got it sorry sounds good
ThankYou Mate
Yummo
Fire...
Boil*
that was a lot of salt and oil O.0
Kayla Rapson 2 tablespoons of oil most of which goes off and 1 teaspoons of salt- not much and you can use less. And only ten percent of the oil stays.
yo terry can i use frozen veggies my nicca?
Dwayne Theroux yes
@@drterrysimpson thanks terry
😂😂😂
Great job! Maybe next time take the basket out of the holder, you won't get all that excess oil dripping over them.
But you did use oil
Keto friendly. Thank you !
It’s every diet friendly.
It may taste nice but check out the amount of oil and salt hes drowning it in.
Andy Hiscock one t if oil and all but ten percent is removed. Salt is less than 29’grams per piece
😋
Dang...have some broccoli with your salt!😂😂😂
I know you don’t read the comments but if you measure those pinches if salt it is less than 1/4 teaspoon. It is a trick of the camera.
Darcey DeRosa 1/4 of a teaspoon isn’t that much. Next time read the comments or try it
😂😂😂
The whole purpose is not to use so much oil!! How much did you use in there?
Less than two tablespoons - see previous comments
Well, I guess I know what I am having for dinner tomorrow.
Mark Gast lol
Did you have the Broccoli
@@robertjackson5758 Yes, it was a lot like pan frying them in butter. Olive oil in an air fryer gives it a different but still delicious taste.
I bet it is I’ve sautéed it with garlic black pepper and salt and it’s awful
Easy on the techno doc, I’m going to have a heart attack before I get the chance to try the recipe :P
It was healthy before you added all that salt! Wow!
you actually need salt to live! eating zero salt is actually worse than too much salt!
@@brandonl4663 As you should already know, that shouldn't be a problem as most everything we buy these days contain some amount of salt already!
@@buddysteve5543 if your watching videos on being healthy Im only assuming your not eating garbage! if you like eat garbage with loads of salt already in it then I cant see as to why you are complaining about salt on broccoli enjoy your big mac and pour some of your room temperature IQ on it!
Why ruin it with cheese? Drs recommending dairy as part of a healthy lifestyle are weird.
BUT YOU COULD HAVE STEAMED THE BROCOLLI AND SAVED THE CALORIES FROM
ADDING OLIVE OIL THIS IS MARKETING AT ITS FINEST
And how many calories? And what is the relative nutrient content? And the taste?
@@drterrysimpson the nutrient content remains the same to steam brocolli its just adding all that oil would add alot more calories. steamed brocolli taste the same really
@@irishtruther1013 no steamed does not taste the same and when you say a lot - how many do you mean, 10 or 100 or 1000? The heat of the air fryer changes the taste of broccoli quite a bit. But tell me - how many calories does the oil add per serving of broccoli
@@drterrysimpson i suppose it would depend if your cutting weight or trying to gain weight or stay the same so it depends if you need to watch calories. i guess either way doesnt matter much, your right also.
@@irishtruther1013 the answer is for the 9 ounces of broccoli it will add 30 calories from the olive oil -
No SALT for those with 🫀situations and Dr. says NO SALT❗️ 7-23-2021
Watch your sodium in-take Dr. Simpson!
Pacific Blue it is 1/4 of a teaspoon for 12 oz broccoli. Hardly an issue
@@drterrysimpson Gotcha. Our doc has put us on a low sodium diet so I'm thinking in terms of our total daily in-take of not more than 1500mg.
Can you repeat the recipe? Its too complicated.
There no point in eating healthy veggies when you're adding oil, fat and other bad stuff! Whats the point???? You might aswell eat fries! I make all my air fryer veggies without oil! Sometimes i might spray one spray of olive oil over some veggies but thats all like actually one quick spray!
Richie all fat is not bad fat dear
lol.. he put 1/2 a bottle of oil on them.. what is he talking about !!! lol
I will be scared to have a sergury done by you 😨.. Im Sorry
Angel Babilonia then don’t. Plenty of good surgeons out there
Surgery FYI. At least when being rude try and use spell check.
That's so much oil and salt... that's going to stop your heart !
Airtouch67 you didn’t read the comments but it is 1/4 teaspoon of salt and 2 tablespoons of oil which over 99 percent is blown off be the air fryer. It is quite healthy
@@drterrysimpson Yes... but oil does not evaporate and the residue would be present all over the vegetable. Why not just steam it? Done in 5 minutes, no oil, no salt - doesn't get any healthier than that. These air fryers are "deceiving" people a little bit in the way of healthy. Better than deep frying? Yes. Are there other methods to prepare these foods healthier other than air frying? Yes.
Airtouch67 it is a different texture and way to have a vegetable which has spice and is delicious. It is minimal oil and salt so is quite healthy. The oil ends up in the pan not the vegetable and it is crisp broccoli.
You so messy and rough with the fryer. Dramatic movment lool. Easy recipe thanks
Good Lord! Thats too much salt & oil😳😱
The Master Key read the other comments. 1/4 tablespoons of salt 2 tsp of oil and less than 90 percent stays in
It's olive oil! That's not too much salt for all that broccoli. Season your food!
Dude, that's so unhealthy. You don't use so much oil. There's no point of using airfryer, you can rather deep fry it.
Keerthi Hima well it is extra virgin olive oil. Quite healthy and dude- very little stays on. Total used two tablespoons
Olive oil is heathy ....... hahaha
@@1989Neko it is though...
Oh I get it reduced oil but tons of salt!!!! You should be ashamed
So for 12 ounces of broccoli you have 1/4 tablespoon of salt - are you daft?
Without all of the oil. Ha, I saw you dumping in the olive oil. And the salt! I was cringing. Broccoli is such a lovely vegetable, why abuse it like this?
So less than two tablespoons of olive oil and 90 percent goes into the bottom of the airfryer - and 1/4 teaspoon of salt. I gather you didn't read the comments,
You need to watch FORKS OVER KNIVES or WHAT THE HEALTH or read THE CHINA STUDY.
The Master Key China study is nonsense. Have discussions about that
