- Last time I talked about Fire Emblem Characters who were done dirty in Heroes, this time I'm doing the exact opposite by checking those characters that you look at them and say "NAAAH, THERE'S DEFINITELY SOME BIAS FROM THE DEVELOPERS HERE" this video isn't to complain about most characters you'll see here, but it's very interesting to compare differences from main games and the mobile spinoff

Hey guys just wanted to know, once you watch this video, how do you feel about the overall video quality?
Again because of my new place and environment I don't have everything I used to have, so of course the quality might not be the same, but still any feedback you can give will be good and I'll try to improve on it when possible
I didn't even notice, quality is superb.
I think Resplendent Camilla and Resplendent Tharja are two of IS's biggest "if we're running low on money, break glass" characters
Edelgard is one of the most blessed characters by IS I swear.
I'm the guy at Intsys who keeps giving her the best
Lyn havent gotten a new alt this year unless you count mark but lyn had been getting at least 1 every year (except 1 year) but think we got double lyn before that anyways. Right now flame tribe lyn is one of the best lyn aside from ninja lyn i guess.

Dont quote me on this, but I remember reading that the japanese Heroes community loves to speculate and bet on which new hero will get "Fjorm'd" whenever a new Forging Bonds event gets announced.
AKA being the one who gets to talk with Fjorm during the event-

My friend and I love to call Hall of Forms "Hall of Fjorms" shes just that ingrained in our brains already
I don't even have much impression of Alfonse and Sharena really, it's just Fjorm XD
It feels like Fjorm has had less of a presence recently? Or maybe I'm just so used to her that I lose all recollection of seeing her the moment she goes off screen

One character that had it good as well: Sophia.
While her base form and art were terrible, things started to shift slowly but surely after her Resplendent released which had a decent art imo.
Then she gets one adorable Halloween alt that was also a decent magic tank to boot, and later she got a bridal alt that made her a great overall tank and support as well.

I'm convinced IS has a "Refine Blacklist" that they put meta defining units on, but then forget to ever revisit those units years later. Hector, Reinhardt, Sutr and Ophelia were all stupid busted around their release and years to come, and have been skipped over for refines despite them all being horribly outdated now outside of maybe Ophelia. Honestly in retrospective it feels like a miracle that OG Takumi got a refine (even if it was really bad...)
It's interesting how i've never paid attention to her weapon but Leila's a very unique unit indeed, her refine removing that limit for the swap and debuffing the foe even harder would make her a great unit imo
Karla's still being able to hold her own agaisnt the current godsword meta with only Dragonflowers and her resplendant stats (given the proper skills ofc) is crazy to me ngl
I'm really glad Arden is, even to this day, a really solid near save tank. Of course, he can't face modern strong tank busters like Nerthuz and Nanna (He could always use Hardy Fighter but he would lack Firepower, most of Arden damage comes from being able use Ignis), but still, I have him max invested and I love using him
On the character of Altina I hope whenever they remake Radiant Dawn in 50 years that the final boss with Ashera Resurrects her and Soan for a more interesting and climactic fight.
Karla is the character that also convinces me that all the jokes about "tikidev/ephraimdev/edelgard dev etc" are real except its actually Karla dev working behind the scenes and on the game. He may even be the same person whose entire family was killed by blue lance fliers.

This video is bringing back deep-seeded FEH memories for me. Used to be one of my most played games before they added in FEH pass and I dropped it. I was pretty dedicated to hard focusing on building Reinhardt, and a drawing my girlfriend did of him is still my discord PFP today. Still hoping that if they make a 776 remake, they make Reinhardt playable in some way, I miss the funny meme guy

@@TheGameShelf Tina's always insanely funny, but she at least requires training to get to 14 magic.
Whereas with Sara, the game literally throws an endgame ready staffer with 17 base magic after promo at you, but puts her in a trainee class for EXP purposes and gives her Paragon to "subtly" hint the player to train her, especially if they didn't train/lost others.

Yeah, this is definitely an accurate list. I'm one of those people that never played Genealogy but immediately latched onto Arden; it's bloody impossible to NOT like the guy, and on top of that I'm basically Ippei's #1 Fan (I've +10'd basically every unit he's drawn, aside from H!Dorcas, and that's only because I'm still trying to get all of the fodder I need for him).
Ippei is such a god, I adore that artist
It can't be understated how awful he is in Genealogy, but that makes him endearing for many.
@DrewPicklesTheDark Armors in general have it rough, but I have heard that it's especially bad for him because of how the maps were designed for Genealogy...
@@shinigamimiroku3723 The maps are not kind at all to them, but just as a character he is weak, and as a father Lex is better than him in every measurable way. I actually enjoy using him though. Sigurd speed-running Gen 1 gets old quick.

sus alts no han sido suuuuper fuertes y creo yo que es un poco popular- pero >:0 se me hace bien innecesario que la incluyan tanto en los forging bonds/tempest trials (como el de lucia) xd no es personaje principal ni tiene una dinamica interesante y sin embargo ahi esta siempre >:0

Laegjarn, while did fall off kinda, is still kinda a threat, and was the second resplendent after Fjorm
Catria: I know she is one of the sisters, but the fact that she got a busted Harmonic that i believe is 2 years old and is still meta defining is crazy. Honestly surprised she doesn't have a resplendent yet considering how popular she is and that her sister already have one
Cordelia back in the day was meta defining with her bridal version. She was super fast and hit hard so here with a brave bow were downright scary. Now she has her christmas version which is basically a galeforce version of Bridal Catria. I get that she is popular but DAMN
Hinoka having any ults is already surprising. I dont remember any of them meta except maybe her pirate version, but the fact she got her legendary alt (which is busted) before Camilla is astonishing

Not sure if it qualifies, but Yuri and Diamant instantly became my favourites even though I didn't played the games they're from yet. They both have killer combination of art, voice acting and character making me look forward to seeing in their home games.

Yuri is unironically my favorite non-protagonist character in all of Fire Emblem, he's incredible!
As for Diamant, yeah he's probably one of Engage's most popular characters so I can see why people like him a lot

And i can totally see why, which isn't always the case with popular characters. Eirika and Ephraim for instance I can't for the life of me tell you where their popularity comes from. Someone like Camilla at least i can understand, even if i don't share the sentiment.
As for Yuri he could become a new face of FE and i would be all for it.

Tharja also has it good in heroes, being always in the top 10 for choose your legends and already having 5 version of her in the game. See is the Awakening version of Camilla.
I expected you to speak about Hans and how he enters the game as one of the nos powerful GHB units at the time even if he was an axe infantry. He was the unit with the highest attack in the entire game and his weapon gives him a ton of damage with the ice mirror thing. And not just that, he also was ilustrated by freakin Soeda Ippei.

Very good list. God, I hope we get an Arden alt soon ngl I honestly just love it when "unconventional" characters get attention. It really does add some spice to the game seeing this goofy slow ass slab of beef dominate the meta.
I'm not a big FE fan at all, and I haven't played FEH in years either. But I still remember Reinhardt as one of those "this unit is crazy, I bet they're nuts in whatever game they came from". By the time I actually got him power creep was ramping up like crazy so it hardly mattered but damn. Gachas, man.
Can i just say I'm surprised that hinoka got both a legendary and a lead in a duo before camilla did, I thought for sure she would get at least one of thoughs before her.

Fjorm definitely has it good. Being that she was the first new main character to the story, she has had blatant favoritism. Eir was completely neglected after her free new years alt for years. Peony also hasn't received a new alt since her new years, but with the Tempest story focusing on Book 4, that'll probably change. Same with Reginn, and same with Ash. I can't say if Fjrom is more popular than the other heroines, but it certainly feels like it. I don't really mind it. Fjorm had 2 alts the year after her release during New Years and Bridal season, but vanished for a couple years until her Ascended variant and her recent summer variant. It's quite the comeback.
I think the Reinhardt train has run its course. His claim to fame was his brave tome. This infamy managed to snag him 2 more alts, which is a shame. His sword alt was pretty dead on arrival, but it also took away a space that could've been filled with other Thracia characters. Thracia already has a small cast, so doubling up on Olwen and Reinhardt alts was a waste. With Thracia being relegated strictly to new banners only, and the fact that they have yet to get any new characters in Book 7, a new Reinhardt alt would make me roll my eyes. That's more of an IS problem though. Focusing solely on the popular titles and neglecting the other ones into irrelevancy. Still waiting on any form of TMS refines or new units. Otherwise there was no point putting them in the game at all.
I don’t get the popularity of Fjorm. She’s just fine to me. My favorite FEH original character is probably Reginn - wish they would do more with her!!!!
@deepseablu91 Simple. She was the first. The first Legendary Hero, the first oc to be featured heavily in Forging Bonds, etc. By comparison the other Book protags were lucky to get a New Years alt and thats it. At least that's changed now but the others still are only getting there guaranteed alts. In this case, the ascended variant with Eir, and most likely Peony when she gets hers.

It really feels like Fjorm took the fast track to having her character break down to effectively being mildly obsessed with player characters like Lyn did for a good while. Though at least with Lyn her appearance in Engage seemed pretty devoid of that, but I still kinda roll my eyes at both of them whenever they get anything new these days lol

As much as I'm not a fan of Camilla, mostly due she gets treated as this "hot waifu bait, please pull!!" -sorta unit, which has left so poor taste in my mouth that I disslike her... I would be lying would I not confess that the Camilla's I have pulled accidentaly have definitely grown on me. Namely, Ninja and Adrift ones. They're just... Effective. SImply put, effective.
We're still not friends, and I doubt we ever will be when my reaction every time I see her (in FE media in general I mean) is always: "...hhhhh ...you..." ...but we're starting to be frenemies at least. That much I have to give her...
I think what's sad about Camilla is that she's actually an interesting character if you pull away the unnecessary horny bait aspects of her. I don't mind those traits necessarily, but at this point it is so hammered down your throat to the point that she almost feels like a parody of a character added specifically to a gacha game for those waifu $$$ than like ... an actual character from a 30+ hour tactical RPG. I feel you there on growing weirdly attached to Ninja Camilla. Being a good unit, actually, does wonders I guess!

Truly surprising, as a Camilla fan I am shocked that a strong unit in her own game, with decent depth and considerable fanservice present by design would be popular and sell well. Like I don't disagree she has so many damn alts is fun to joke about, plus over the years it built up.
...But lets not ignore Edelgard being new Camilla, okay? Though any 3H mc would fit, she is the most atrocious by definition. Hated by quarter of the community (including me) and beloved by the other quarter? Check. Creating discourse that annoys the remaining half? Check. Attractive female character? Check. Strong in game? Check. Fanservicy? Sells? Check.
She is not fun to joke about either, she is an annoyance because IS makes her meta only for her counterplay to become meta quick and for her to become irrelevant.
How can people say amelia is the worst character in sacred stones when ross is right there
Ross has better availibility and utility via pirate class(lets him walk on water tiles).
And despite being worse on every other front, Ewan can still provide good utility as a summoner if you're willing to train him. What makes both of them stand out is that said utility is niche. Ross is the only character that can become a pirate while Ewan and Knoll are the only ones with access to summoner. Problem with Amelia is that she has a lot of competition for roles that aren't niche: Anything she can do as a Cavalier, other cav units can do better and sooner. Anything she can do as a Knight isn't worth the investment either, since Gilliam joins sooner and Duessel is a great unit. I don't know if she's the worst unit in the game, but she's definitely the worst trainee unit.

Fjorm is basically all but publicly confirmed as Maeda's waifu, and since he's the guy in charge of a lot of FE these days, theres no way she'll every not get biased treatment

Fjorm's remix made her a lot stronger, and they had to give her 2 A-skills due to a mistake.
On paper, Leila's weapon looks like it can work well with Matthew's refined weapon, which increases damage with the foe's debufs.
I misread at first and I thought it was “based heroes”. Like based and red pilled lol.
I made the same mistake when my editor sent me the thumbnail but I left it like that cause I thought it would be funny if someone else also misread it lmao
Fun list though personally I don't think things like Amelia and Arden should be here. Arden is only bad because of the context of his game, put him into GBA emblem and he is decent like all other armor knights. So translating to heroes just give him high strength (Strong) and defense/HP (tough) and give him pursuit because he had it in his game. As for Amelia sure she is bad even in the context of how easy FE 8 is but two things, 5* exclusive unit and her high speed. This is a gacha game no character is going to be made weak on purpose unless they are free or were part of the early low rarity pool (3/4*s) so base Karla being good is not fair, though Karla still makes it because she gets a good refine and two alts.
Fjorm is 100% having it too good. ALL of her non-ranged alts have Distant Counter and are exceptional at beating ranged enemies. Summer Fjorm is waaaaaaaaay too strong.
IntSys 100% has the hots for Fjorm despite her being a princess of ice. Pun intended.
PS. Fjorm has 4 alts (not counting her Duo alt with Laegjarn). Her siblings, however, have exactly 1 alt each. This is bias.

I think I understand why child Tiki has more representation than her future self: it's because there's much less competition for adorable characters than hot characters. Also, I personally love the idea of her bridal alt featuring both versions, at the very least in concept.
