- It's been a long time coming, but I finally made a video that focuses 100% on Fates and... I ACTUALLY SAY GOOD THINGS ABOUT IT?!
Well, I can't be a hater all the time, this time I will focus on something possitive and talk about the FE Fates characters who are so enjoyable to me I wish they were in a different game

When your girl is so overlooked she doesn't even get mentioned in a 25 minute long video about overlooked Fates characters, but the one-chapter dancer NPC does. Poor Mitama.

Being Hana fan is a struggle
One thing I love about Support Takumi is his Sakura support. Its then literally just them both plotting a way to avoid a public event eith Ryoma and Hinoka. Its such a sibling thing to do and I fucking love it. It shows too that he had the best relationship with her, he feels inferior to both his older siblings despite having a Holy weapon like Ryoma.
That's an S tier support IMO
my personal pick for "character who deserved better than fates" is charlotte
her va really sells the humour in a rough girl pretending to be sweet and innocent so people will like her
i like how she acts sweet so she can marry into wealth to escape poverty, but her insincere behavior is what screws her out of a higher paying job.
theres a lot you can do w this kinda character for commentary on like gender roles. or just for humour.
but since shes in fates all she gets is a crappy costume design.
Idk I think her design fits given she's trying to sang a wealthy man while pretending to be a "dainty lady who needs saving"

i think the lost in waves dlc for fates really, REALLY did a good job with giving the children units some great character moments and letting even the characters i thought were the weakest links score, in some sense. ( except midori, they really had no idea what to do with her, huh. ) caeldori and asugi became more than just awakening rip offs with their interactions with shirou, having all of leos and leos retainers children converse together was really nice. and dwyer and sophie just felt like a funny comedic duo, which made me realize dwyer wasn't just some edgelord like i thought he was. overall, fates did do a good job with some of the characters i barely had a second thought over, its just a shame it happened in DLC.
I've actually heard a lot of good things about the Fates DLC, I should give it a shot someday. Could even make good video material too lol
Xander deserved better seriously, what he does in Birthright just makes me angry.
"Xander I beg of you, lay down your sword for me"
Xander: *Does the exact opposite of that and then wants you to feel bad for him dying*
Like man, I dont care about Ryoma much, but at least his sacrifice in Conquest didn't feel like a waste or spit on someone else's efforts

Xander doesn't bothers me a lot
The reason he continues to fight is because he lost his will to live, but as a warrior he doesn't want to kill himself like Ryoma so he jumps into a suicide battle against Corrin(explaining why he's so weak in the actual battle)
My issue with this scene is how he barely acknowledges Elise's death afther she actually dies
I think that a fix for this part (imo) would be Elise dying afther the battle, so Corrin would lose in a scripted battle(Xander his health would not go to zero and instead stop at 1), where we would have a dialogue between him and Xander and a cutscene fight, where would lead to the cutscene where Elise dies, Xander would be on his knees clueless about what he should do now, Azura would be crying and the Hoshidan siblings would be like "wtf?!!" While Corrin would be literally having a breakdown in tears where he would shout something like "whyyy" , afther some drama Corrin and Xander would stand up and take Elise's words, however Xander would say for last "But unfortunately, i can't keep this promise, i'm sorry Corrin... You grew so strong, i'm proud of you" aftherwards a Thunder spell would launched towards Corrin and Xander would sacrifice himself to protect him, revealling that Iago was watching the fight since the beggining and started to see Xander as a traitor so he tried to kill both of them.
This is a little rewritte that i thought other day about how Xander could be fixed in BR
@@renren47618 The only issue with that is that Iago dies the chapter before. But if they swap the chapter order of 25 and 26 then it would work wonders.
Glad to see Velouria mentioned. She's my favorite FE girl in the series. Super cute design and I find her supports fun. In my multitude of playthroughs of Fates, she's the one I've S supported the most.

My girl soleil deserves a new variant in heroes she was an absolute unit in one of my fates runs, her design is great, she makes honor to her name being a ray of sunshine and happines, furthermore a kinda member of the lgbt community is a plus in my eyes.
Wonderful video my guy, I agree with a majority of the list. [Mostly just Rinkah.]
I feel like Fates really is a mixed bag of characters, they're very hit or miss, for example;
We get characters like Nyx, Support Xander, Takumi [Good on him actually DOUBTING Corrin], Leo, Elise, Laslow/Odin, Oboro, hell even people like Kaze and Saizo are pretty well developed and feel like actual people and have a ton of personality. There's a ton more here but I won't go on for my sanity.
Then we got others, like...Hinata, Hinoka, Camilla, Azura, Any major villain in Fates besides maybe Iago, etc, who feel all super one note. You can make a one note character good, I mean look at Henry for example, he's great, but they seemingly just missed the mark and you just tend to find them a bit irritating. Doesn't mean I don't use Azura and Camilla though, I need me a dancer and a flier PLUS Soliel and Ophelia because I S support Azura/Laslow and Odin/Camilla.
Overall, while I like Fates, I can see why people hate and love the characters so much. Once again, great video man.
I will say I support the main villains cause I genuinely dislike the main characters
ALTHOUGH I hear Anankos is a pretty good character, but that's mostly in DLC, I still need to check it out

Scarlett was my Top choice as a Wife, then I had the horrible mistake of making Kana right before She was killed off and I was like " Nope! Hell!!!!!! Naaaaaaw! This got too real. Not doing this ". Restarted And S Ranked with someone else 😂.

I like Fates a lot so going into the video I know our opinions just aren't going to match up, which is fine. But I still like the choices of characters and the presentation so thumbs up from me.
As a Selkie fan, I can also say that her Heroes voice irritates me so much that I just wanted to hear her original voice from Fates, but I like her hyper character overall.
Actually I'm curious, how much different is her voice in Fates?
Cause I know there are characters that have the same VA from their original game but still sound very different because they took a different direction like Peri, Kagero and Henry from Awakening
@@TheGameShelf Selkie has different VAs, Elizabeth Daily for Fates and Lexi Klain for Heroes. In Fates, Selkie has a softer voice, but you can still feel the active energy in the voice lines.

I feel like I wouldn't hate the Fates characters as much as I do if they didn't shove them in our faces the first few years of FEH. Seeing only awakening and fates over and over again really made me hate them more than just from their game
Doubly when it's mostly alts of the same three units.
Like I want the entire cast to be in FEH over another Camilla and Lyn alt
You see, that's one of the main reasons I hate Fates even if the overrepresentation is long-gone now, but my biggest issue is that they ALWAYS gave alts to the Royals and Corrin
They got a bit better through the years, but it was so infuriating, I remember they once had to announce the next banner was gonna be Radiant Dawn a whole month in advance cause everyone was so sick of Fates they were dropping the game

I am an Awakeningbaby who considers that game one of my favorites of all time. I have over thirty hours in Fates, between Birthright and Conquest, of regularly trying to keep myself interested beyond the first five or six chapters of each path.
It is a shame, for I deeply love the pre-choice chapters.

El guion de este juego es atroz. La historia es medio equis, pero los diálogos me hicieron retorcer de incomodidad de lo trillados e infantiles que son. Digo, sé que es un juego de Fire Emblem, pero hay una brecha de calidad inmensa entre Awakening y Fates.
Incluso Awakening tenia sus momentos asi de trillados pero no acapabaran casi todo el juego. Si estaban mucho mas controlados

Takumi frustrates me to no end. That said i am OBSESSED with Takumi. I love him so much that I restarted my birthright playthrough JUST to marry him (I was playing with Male Corrin on my first playthrough.)
He's easily the most interesting character in all of fates and is easily the biggest hint as to what fates could have been. Just look at how dark he goes in conquest. Not to mention he's grieving the loss of his mother.

I found this fan made video of a support with him and Yukimura that I think beautifuly describes what he could've been.
Within 10 years, I'd love to see a FE Fates remake with improved writing to give these characters the love they deserve.

Really though I was so hyped for fates only to be let down, and not to mention that I even got the Japanese special version from a scalper so that’s 700$ I’m never getting back

Fates is alot of missed potential. Conquest has easily some of the best gameplay of the entire series, (keyword being gameplay, not story) it’s just to bad the whole game was not of that quality. I still enjoy fates enough though that i do a whole playthrough once a year (infact i am on a FE binge right now leading up to Engage)

Mostly agree with the list. While i like Hana, i really do not like Soleil. Selkie in FEH has incredibly annoying voice, it's much better in Fates where she also has some of the best crit quotes in the game, not much more than that though. The only character missing from this list is Charlotte, easily the best in Fates - the amount of nuance they put into her character still surprises me, especially in comparison to Peri and Setsuna who were given about none. Incidentally I paired these two with Corrin in Conquest/Birthright because I was certain there's more to them than it appears on the surface. Oh how wrong I was.
I definitely have to give Charlotte another chance, I didn't mention her here cause I honestly don't much of her in general, hopefully in the future that can change

Unfortunately Fates it's a great game with great characters that got a shitty story
However i'd say that Corrin, Garon, Azura, Xander, all the sisters but Elise and the Awakening trio are my top for characters that deserved better

@@TheGameShelf That's fair. I just think there's a lot more to her character than most people tend to notice. Especially from the Nohrian Festival of Bonds DLC. It's unfortunate it's Japanese exclusive, because it's what really sealed the deal for her being my favorite.

22:21 isn't what is essentially wishing death on "basement dwellers" who like their designs going a bit overboard?? Am I wrong for assuming you also hold those same feelings towards the people at IS and artist who designed and approved of designs like Nowi and Sothis? Let's not forget IS allows players to marry Elise, Sothis, Nyx, and Nowi. You can not like their designs or how childish they act and that's fine, but if game says the character is legal or not then that's final. A good example is Jotaro Kujo from Jojo part 3, he has a design of a 30 year old man yet is 17 and that's something I gotta accept no matter how silly it is.
There's also the fact that likes Ophelia's design, who has the same design as nyx but is an actual teenager
