I tried new batteries and the rear wheels spin just fine. Only the steering gave up completely now. I already opened it today but could not see anything, but I'm not familiar with wiring and stuff. I also don't own another remote, but the led turns on when I use the turning lever just normal. I think there might be something wrong with the magnetic field that steers the car.
mmm... it could be, but is rare, that motor are really hard... try to open the iR remote and check if there are any bad contact... Sorry, thats the only i can do from here... but check all the posibilities again before surrendering ;)

The motor and steering and ir receiver is one piece!! too easy. cheap set. not much of a build is it? looks good though

Did you try to test the connection just with the motor block and iR control?? Try another iR control... Good batteries??? Maybe you have to open it...

Is not a very powerful car. It has 3 AA batteries (remote control 3 AAA batteries).
