as a 20-year-old man who’s turning 21 this fall, I can tell you both of you are correct.
being privileged to not work any day of my life yet, that’s the very curse to my ‘stupidity’ or shall I say real-life blindness. although I am a full-time student in my senior year, i must admit that besides my university studies i completely wasted this 4 year period. everything i did was running an Ariana Grande stan account on a social medium and enjoying my careless student days, such a first world problem. and only now when it’s almost time for my graduation, I have realized I have zero assets, like nothing to offer or live off without my family’s help, because I always thought of it as I would always be 16.
now I am working my ass off as if rent is due, and i am 100% going places because I want no other choice! in early 20s or late 60s, just never lose grip and always remind yourself of what your mission is. the sooner the better. this is a life-lesson and reflection to my future-self. good luck future me, i fucking love and believe in you.

This is the video I needed to see. I’ve made so many decisions based on avoiding failure, judgement and not feeling urgency. I used to think not taking risks was the smart move, but the older I get the more I want to live without regret.
There is a quote: regret is a lot worse than failure could ever be.
You still won't change because that's just how it is, seeing a video won't change what you are in 2 weeks max you'll go back to your old self, OR NOT? Don't give up

I have tried and failed a few times but I have no regrets. I just learned from the lessons and now I'm doing the prep work to take another risk. I love this video, Nischa! I needed to hear your wisdom on fear so much. I have wanted to start a business for more than 3 years now and I have all the excuses to not do it. Pregnancy, kid, financial stability from a high paying job. I finally got laid off and realized that I want to control my own financial freedom and be my own boss while staying at home with our baby. Thank you for the encouragement and courage for creating this youtube channel. You've inspired so many.

In hindsight, it's very easy to have regrets later in life about things we should've done earlier in life. Quite likely, even if we had done those things early in life, there's no real guarantee we'd have been satisfied later. There's always going to be something we're regretful of. Nobody is ever really happy at the end of the day. You even see it with these multimillionaire celebrities. To the average bloke, they're super successful and we envy their lifestyle. Behind close doors, those celebrities are barely keeping it together and dealing with all sorts of personal issues despite having hundreds of millions of dollars and multiple properties around the world. It's a strange thing.
Rather be rich and miserable than poor and happy. And who the hell is really poor and happy? They're most likely even more miserable.
Your channel is great I'm certain many people will be thankful that you didn't give into your fears and you kept at it!

Great tips! I appreciate you @nischa putting yourself out there and listing what your greatest fears were. It's very brave of you and relatable. I see the comments below about it feeling too late. I'm 43 this month (yikes), but with potentially 22 more years of normal working life left, I don't feel like it's too late to reduce that number and start something new. I just need a good idea! lol ...and to build up my assets column!

Brilliant advice Nischa, I totally agree with everything you have said. In my opinion the worst thing we can do is hold ourselves back in life. We are only limited by our beliefs which are often put in our heads by others, when we know deep down we are capable of much more. Happy Sunday.

Fear gets indoctrinated into you whilst you're young, as you can easily absorb it. Later on though, you're scared to venture out. You have to unlearn a lot of things you were told back then. I realised by not giving to much emphasis on what I was told (basically by not giving a damn), things have started to open up for me. Always best to 'write' your goals, using pen and paper.
