- This is the final episode of a 4 Part series. This is where the fishing bite got really hot at Martin's Beach that day. The bite started about one and half hours before the sunset and did not let up after that. Striped Perch, Black Rock Fish and Greenlings were all in the neighborhood.

Dan is one of the nicest people I ever met.He didn't deserve this.This skateboarder knew he was security when he/they attacked him.
This should be no different than assault with a deadly weapon on a police officer.Which should require the max prison sentence for all involved.
The dude was defending himself
Don't spread misinformation. Whether he's a nice guy or not, security guards are supposed to call the cops and not get into fights with people or attempt to confiscate their property. Most employers specifically prohibit them from doing this in their contracts. If he followed protocol, this could have just ended with a bunch of skateboarders being fined for trespassing instead of him causing his family grief and causing someone to go to jail. There was also a second video that came out showing him clumsily fighting them and falling over himself, while hitting his own head on the pavement on the last fall, not being attacked with a skateboard like the initial claim.
@@ibendover4817Saw the video as well. He was unarmed. The dude swung the skateboard and hit him with it. Then, they left him lying there, to bleed, while they took off.
@@stevesilva2780 Eh? At least get your facts right.. on a 4 year old story too. No one got hit with a skateboard. That title was incorrect. It's already been confirmed his injuries were from the pavement. He tried to confiscate the skateboard(which he's not allowed to do to begin with) and the skateboarder tossed it away so he couldn't get it. You can even see it if you go frame by frame using the '>' key.
The guard's ego got hurt because he tripped the first time and started getting more aggressive. You could see a switch flip in his expression as soon as he got back up and he was more focused on revenge. That part was clear as day and this wasn't 'self defence' on his part. Not his job to go that far trying to singlehandedly get physical with a group of people(he doesn't have the tools or the training for that), and he should have waited for the real cops to show up. Skateboarder faced no charges and even competitions he was practicing for that banned him when this story first came out unbanned him after the details were bought to light.
There was another security guard that did his job properly and already called the police before any of this could happen, instead of playing Rambo and breaking protocol.
I was wondering why he stopped posting content in 2018. So sad to hear about this situation. He seems like a really cool guy, sometimes a few seconds can change your entire life. Hope he's on the mend.

@@martinrangel4741 Had a look at the video, he worked as a security guard and got physical with some skateboarders that were trespassing instead of calling the cops. He broke protocol, fell and injured his head. People are siding with him because of the severity of his injuries failing to recognise that he broke protocol himself.

Just found this channel about a week ago through the other "bigger" fishing RUclipsrs. I'm a complete beginner and have watched nearly everything you've posted and learned so much about surf fishing. I like that you don't try to hide anything and give out tips and locations freely instead of gatekeeping. It's devastating to find out what happened to you, Dan. I hope you're doing well. You've definitely made an impact on my life and on many other fisherman in the Bay Area, I'm sure.

It's been 5 years, but I stll log on, every now and then, hoping to see a new post from you. Hopefull, your attacker has long since been rotting away in either prison or HE11. I'm an old guy, and always enjoyed your fishing adventures. I sincerely hope you are doing well.

Yes there's comments on here saying he passed two years after the attack but I can't seem to locate any confirmations on the web. Here from Matt's channel.
Prayers for this man. He was assaulted by a pro skateboarder and is now missing half of his skull.

This is so sad. I wasn't surprised the skater did that when I read he is from Stockton. I hope they throw the book at him and lock him up for life. Praying for him to make fast recovery and get back to the water.

From the pictures I saw, the skaters completely destroyed Dan’s life. There is no coming back from an injury that massive.

@@joecuneo1606, Well, I think about Dan whenever I fish Grey Whale Cove. It’s the only place I catch Sand Dabs. Also, I noticed that Dan never fished Sharp Park Beach, from what I saw of his vids. I’ve had some success there. 👍🏻

Long day. Physically and mentally demanding. Seems as though you enjoyed yourself. It's not as though you didn't catch a fair amount they were for the most part too small. I have to tell you though that the sunset in the last frame was worth all the effort. Magnificent! Looking forward to the next adventure.

The Barred Perch seem to come and go all year round at almost all beaches around here, and the Red Tail around here, at the beaches I frequent, seem to show up in December and January more than any other months. The same with the Calico.
Watching some of these You Tubers in Oregon, it seems like they hit Red Tail more than anything else all the time.
@@PacificaFisherman Ive spent a few weekends at multiple beaches and it seems like theyre all gone. I still find myself out there every weekend staying busy with jacksmelt. The Oregon guys have it good with all those Red Tails
Yeah, the schools of Jack Smelt are massive, and I notice that in many cases the bite from the other species dies down when the Jack Smelt are in the neighborhood in huge numbers. In those cases it is either settle for Jack Smelt or try a different location. But the Perch will be hitting in bigger numbers real soon. I am sure that you will running into them real soon.

Francisco Venegas, no way...3 Amigos is crap. Southern California has far better places - some open 24hrs. Taquerias around Pacifica and Half Moon Bay are crap, South and Central American style. Go Baja style or go home, you tard!!! Hahahaha

Where is this place at?
Martin's Beach, San Mateo County, south of Half Moon Bay. The last State Beach you will see, when going south, before you hit Martin's Beach is Cowells Ranch Beach. It isn't well marked, and is easy to miss. I show the turn-off in Part I of this series, so you can see where the turn-off from Hwy 1 is. I also have another video out called: How to get to Martin's Beach that might be helpful.
Is this place only good during low tide? Or can you fish at high as well?
When I first got out there, it was near high tide and I was getting the bites, just not landing much. So the fish were out there at both high and low tides. I landed a lot more during the low tide, but that could have just been because my set up better fit the situation and other factors including just plain luck.
Pacifica Fisherman went there yesterday swells were rough landed two but super dangerous even during low tide

lilppblunt nothing justifies what Jesse did. Now a man will live the rest of his life with severe mental disabilities and deformities because of a wreck less idiot who could’ve just politely left when asked to. Slamming your skateboard at someone’s skull is just as terrible as trying to slam a hammer at their head. I hope he rots behind a jail for a very long time.
