Folks on this comment section dont seem to understand the effort, time and money this saves. You want it to look exactly like NY just pay for that new google add on, or build NY from scratch. Thanks Great video now I just have to throw in some textures and tweak some building models......or just leave it like that lol
Nice video I'm going to try it using OSM with Buildify this time but what about Enterable Buildings without changing and deleting some of the mesh and adding floors and open doors and windows so we can go inside like a house or what ever. Is there a way to make Enterable Buildings the easy way.
This is helpful, also i didn't know about the cavities, look better this way so thanks! I am trying to make a city environment for a game and some buildings are displaced along Z axis, which is fine since i want to have some terrain elevation. But, when i generate geometry nodes, the new buildings are all at the same Z level, do you have any tips for this? Or do i have to reposition every building individually?
sometimes the height information is lost when the buildify addon tries to fit into osm buildings due to the various shape of the buildings, and there's no way to change that, but of course if you want to create your own buildings you can use buildify only to modify the height and shape of the buildings
Check Compatibility: Ensure that the versions of Blender, BLOSM, and Buildify you're using are compatible with each other. Sometimes, certain versions of addons may not work well together or may require specific configurations. Restart Blender: After installing new addons, it's often necessary to restart Blender for them to be properly initialized and appear in the interface. Close Blender completely and reopen it to see if the Geometry Nodes option appears. Verify Installation: Double-check that BLOSM and Buildify were installed correctly. Sometimes, addons may not install properly, leading to missing features or errors. Go to Blender's Preferences, navigate to the Add-ons tab, and make sure both BLOSM and Buildify are enabled. Documentation: Consult the documentation or user manual for BLOSM and Buildify. They may provide specific instructions or prerequisites for using Geometry Nodes within their interfaces. Community Support: If you're still unable to find the Geometry Nodes option, consider reaching out to the Blender community forums or the developers of BLOSM and Buildify for assistance. They may be able to provide more specific guidance or troubleshoot any issues you're encountering.
This is great, how do you cistomize the buildings a bit more though? I go into edit more but everything is connected and un-editable. Also, how do you remove the blender signs as my goal is to create a simple street that just moves slowly, but I'd like to make it look more realistic.
will it capture Germanic styled 1930 apartments, Im Bavarian and i want to recreate the City Munich but our buildings are a bit weird, not sure how in depth the prefabs are
this method won't capture that, but check out this tutorial ruclips.net/video/QgZwWSjXzLs/видео.html, it'll at least capture the general shapes of buildings you referring to
so i tried that method as well, but it doesnt do the roof correctly, i have been modeling the buildings modularly and then trying to form them together,i need them for an Unreal engine 5 game@@blenderburbax

Great point!
Mine wouldn't work for textures so I just got the premium
Yet again a random dude on RUclips that has no recognition on the platfrom saves the day.
Thanks
Can we use the new city generator, add-on in blender combination with the blosm instead of buildify

I think that would require editing the meshes just like any other models, the buildings are empty inside

I am not sure how you can vary Z level in one go, but you can do that individually
Great video! I noticed that when the geo nodes were imported, that the heights of the buildings differed greatly, is that also changeable?

AFter installing BLOSM and buildify extracted, I cant seem to find the option for the geometry nodes in the OSM interface. Any help appreciated

I couldn't find it too, then i switched from "Upload from server" to "Upload from file" and somehow the option appeared below.

yeah kids can play with this
is there a way to get exact textures
nope, but I think you can add your own textures
buona pasqua mi chiedo si possono exportare le texture??
Buona Pasqua anche a te, sì, le texture possono essere esportate, prova a utilizzare il formato fbx
so now what? You have all these buildings but how do you meake them look good?
i think you can add modifications on them just like any other model separately
building size etc isnt even accurate
I think the building size is reasonable
