- Today I update you guys on some recent upgrades I made to the 300l, as well as an update on my tail tidy from CRFsonly.com and k-tech suspension.
Todays upgrades include:
Pirelli MT16
Dunlop D606
Gold X-Ring Chain (110 link, 14/45 tooth)
45 Tooth Rear Aluminum Sprocket
D-Flex Turn Signals (with TST adapters and running mate)
12oclock Labs Tail Tidy Update
I like the blinkers.
thanks good video. still waiting for mine, I ordered the same tires you have so feel good that you like them, also hope to be getting the 45 tooth rear sprocket. I getting better handle bars and hand guards as well and going with a heavy duty plastic bash plate and rear tack. Still deciding on a rear box, for tools and extra gas. Will be using the bike for 90% off road. Have the KTM 390 Adventure for more road. and a DR650 with a 20 liter gas tank for the long gravel and gnarly dirt roads rides. when off road I ride at a slower pace so will see about the suspension.
Vermont here too! Rad video and solid insight on tires.
Yewww!! Maybe I’ll see you out there this year!
i received a 606 and MT21 from amazon yesterday. I decided to return the MT21 and get a MT16 based on your review here. it cost me 15 bucks to return it, but i'd rather spend 15 bucks than low side it again :)
That bike stand is Dope
I ordered the Race Tech Hi-Performance Fork Spring Kit and gold valve setup from crf's only and the k-tech rear spring for my rally.
I'm liking the setup so far.
Going to try the sprocket next with tires.
great video
Nice! What made you go with that combo? How long did it take for you to receive your k-tech? I’ve been waiting nearly two months. I’m ready to cancel and go with racetech
I ordered March 14 and they shipped on the 16th. Watched a few reviews and figured I would give a try. I'm happy that I did. The bike sits about an 1.5in taller while on the seat. I'm able to set rear sag now.
nice vid man. I got the d606 on with the zip tie method. might be worth a shot next time
Not familiar with that method but I’ll check it out! Great tire nonetheless
I just love that new honda 300cc motorcycle it's awesome cool
You're video came at the right time for me. I have been struggling to pick tires, and I have had so many suggestions for the 606, and I guess that's settled now, so thanks. Gonna go with that front tire as well, as Ive primarily bought this bike for dirt road and trail.
I really like the look of the tail tidy and the low mirror, but I'm confused about not having a license plate. Do you not need to run one in Vermont?
Subscribed and look forward to your content.
Can't wait to see this out in the Bush! Keen to see how the new gearing works in the tight sections, and just overall performance.
Would you be open to doing some pov riding videos with minimal talking. (Not that I don't like listening to your voice haha)
So few videos online of the crf300l where you can hear the engine reacting to the terrain.
POV riding is coming! Just waiting for slightly warmer weather and a GoPro mount. Stay tuned!
Starting to get upgrades for mine. Trying to patiently wait for the race tech suspension package through solo racer but still not taking new orders…😢 Exhaust coming this week with Pro Tapers, foot pegs, and a few other odds and ends. Need to order DNA filter and ECU tuner or box. Haven’t decided. What part of VT are you in again? Looking forward to riding soon.
What harness did you get from TST for the running mate? 3-2?
That front tire is DOT certified? That thing looks sticky! I wonder how they are in the curves on the road?
I want to install those blinkers on my Rally , but I’m not going to eliminate the stock blinkers, so I’m wondering if I need the same wiring harness that you used or if there is a different one for that...
Tire are in fact DOT certified! I love them. Haven’t noticed any negatives in the turns, however I have only put about 50 miles on them so far.
You will probably need to splice into the stock blinker harness to run both. It will be really easy, but you will still need the TST running mate if you want the new blinkers to still have a running light. The tusk blinkers are only two wire. Running lights require a three wire. Cheers!
How did you put the lens on the taillight, does it screw on, glue on or snap on? I ordered one also from crfsonly and got the stealth version and I emailed them and asked for a red lens and they said they will see what they can do.
There are three screws on the back of the light where the plug comes out. The stealth cover comes off (leds stay) and the new cover goes on. Very simple actually. I hope you get a new cover. We deserve what is advertised for that kind of money!!
Very clean!
Is that a woody bio-degradable MX stand? Sweet!
Love and want to get the Rally, but just got an out the door price of just over $8200. Does that sound right to you when MSRP is so much lower? Thanks and love your videos! Keep'em coming please!
Appreciate the feedback! Gosh, seems kind of high to me but I know every state is different. I paid around $6200 out the door here in Vermont. That’s for tax, title, registration, dealer fees.
@@vermontnpk1748 OMG! First off, thank you for such a quick and awesome response! And secondly, that price is just what I'm looking for and it helps immensely to know some dealers are not gouging beyond belief... Other folks had been running into similar prices to what I was getting unfortunately...
Thanks again, I'll look elsewhere!!
can you share the URL of the sprocket ?
Hey what size is ur pireli mt16
And the d606 did u go 120 90 18 or the 130 90 18
Where did you order the rear sprocket from?
Rocky Mountain
Sorry to correct you, but in 6th gear doing 60mph , rpm is 6,000. 6th gear at 50mph is 5,000 rpm and so on. I find it hard to believe doing 65-70 mph you are doing only 6,500 rpm with a 45 tooth. On stock I believe it yes. I've done 80 mph on highway only a short distance of course don't like the very high revs at 8,000 rpm for too long. I like this bike more at 60-70 mph 6k to 7k rpms. I also want to gear up just 42 tooth as many say that makes a difference and don't lose much top speed. I use it 50/50 . For you it makes sense to keep 45 tooth mainly for dirt use minimal road. I also have mt21 and dsport set up and don't feel difference In any loss of power or lagging do to the tire change. That's just me though.
I may be off by 1000 RPM, tops. Definitely not more than that. POV videos coming. With the larger tire diameter, it really doesn’t create that drastic of a change. Haven’t put any more miles on since this video, but I will this coming week. If I am in fact right, I’m calling you out! Cheers!
@@vermontnpk1748 sounds good.
I have the same setup as you. Accept I run 13 42. My speedo is 10mph off . I run around 6500 at 55 . 7500 at 70 ( which is 80mph on my speedo
